Camera wont open/work.
have tried everything we know (reset, update etc) but the camera will not open and allow photo's to be taken.
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My new ipad 2 is just over two weeks old. The camera and video worked fine for the first week I owned - then, whilst on my flight to a holiday, i noticed it would not open. The shutter remains in the closed position after clicking to open the camera app and I'm very frustrated that it will not work anymore. The same thing happened on my relatively new iphone 4 a few weeks ago and now both devices are experiencing the same issue.
I'm hoping there is a fix out there as this is very disappointing - lucky I still carry and use an old fashioned digital camera on holiday!!!!
Any help/ advice appreciated please.go to the home page
double click the home button
now hold down on the camera app icon till it starts to wiggle
now click the red circle
click the home button twice
now launch the camera app -
The shutter on my camera wont open
The shutter of my IPad 3 won't open.
Try closing the Camera app completely and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camea app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Why has my iphone 4g been crashing in apps and camera wont open?
I will be playing in an app and it will randomly crash and the camera once open it shows the shutters closed and i can leave it open for as long as it takes for my phone to relock and it still wont open. I need to know whats wrong. thanks all.
did you get the most recent update? also you might have a lot of apps you need to update, or have too many apps open. to update apps just go to the app store and update all, and to close appls double click your home button and press down on one of the apps that comes up until it starts to wiggle and a - comes up, then touch that to close all your apps.

Hi the camera function in my brand new Lumia 800 wont open. This is both from trying to use the on screen button and side of phone button. I have tried changing the camera settings but this has not helped? Any suggestions please? Thanks
@jtsticks
As a pre-cursor to returning your device can only suggest that you perform the hardware reset press the Power key and hold it for 10 seconds, when screen turns black press the Power key to turn on the phone; After that the software / operating system (OS) reset returns the phone to its out-of-the-box state by Tap Settings > About > reset your phone - default Nokia lock code of 12345 unless altered by user (Note: that this procedure erases all consumer data!)

My brand new iPhone 4s that runs iOS 5.1 won't open my camera. Everytime I click on it now the camera app just stays on the closed lens screen or it goes to a black screen. It doesn't work 75-90% of the time now. I went to my local AT&T store and they told me to do a hard restart which worked for a bit but know has no effect. My I have restored my phone plenty of times which didn't work and I have tried going in and out of Dfu mode and that also didn't work should I take it in and get a new phone? If so it hasn't been 30 days yet since my purchase but I don't want to get a refurbished phone. I have the apple care plan but I repeat I don't want a used phone . Taking it in is my last option but I would like to see if its fixable first . Help meeeeew
If restoring your phone as a new device has failed to solve the problem, then you have a hardware failure. Bring your phone back to Apple for exchange.

My front camera wont open.
When I go to switch from my back camera (which works fine) to my front camera, It doesnt open. It just shows the closed shutter screen, and I cant get it to go away? Help? I have a iPod 5, IOS 6.0.1
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

When trying to open the camera a message appears saying it couldn't open/start the camera close other applications and try again...can anyone out there please help???
Hi and welcome to the forums!
go to OPTIONS ABOUT and send me the file free and file total numbers.
You have low free memory left on your device. I usually average around 45 to 46 mgb.
Do you have a lot of third party applications on your BB weather, icall, bbalerts etc?
I do not know your experience level, so if you know this I'm sorry but please read and let me
know if this applies.
Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.
Each application has a CLOSE option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom CLOSE is listed. Go through each application and press close. Go into the browser press menu and options select cache operations clear all categories and hit escape it will say cleaning memory.
Go to options - security - memory cleaning - enable it. The BB will now clean memory when idle for 5 minutes.
you will have an icon on you screen for memory cleaning make sure you press it. Make sure you use the CLOSE button each time you are done with an application.

If you follow these steps and keep up with your memory your phone will operate smoothly.
Please let us know if you need help with any of the steps.
PLease send me the numbers so we have a starting point
Thanks

front camera wont open it stays blurry its an ipod touch 5g
Hey Techmeout, If a restore to new did not solve, most likely dealing with a hardware issue. Contact your Apple store or the Apple Genius Bar, set up an appointment and have your iPod evaluated for possible hardware issue. Then go from there. Good luck. Cheers.
