Camileo X-sports freezing

Hello,
I have recently bought a Camileo X-sports.
It appears to freeze randomly but regularly when filming. It always happened with the case on.
The recording stops and none of the buttons respond anymore.
Each time I had to remove the battery to reboot it.
Which I could not do in my surfing sessions :(
First I thought it was from my old micro SD card so I changed it to a brand new class 10.
Is there something I can do or should I contact the provider for warranty?
Best Regards and thanks for your help,
Xeniluom

yup! I had the same problem at first, i have the Samy EVO class 10 32G SDHC.
It's usually brilliant, actually it works fine with the 50 fps, 30 fps and even the 720p 120 fps.
However i found the problem easier than most people simply due to sheer coincidence.
I left the screen on while recording and right before i stopped recording (btw it never froze in my case it just stopped recording) and the screen displayed "low speed card"! what do you know!
I researched the issue and it turns out the Samsun EVO was a bit slower than what the camera required at 60 fps. at 50 fps it barely stopped recording once.
SanDisk Micro SDHC Extreme Class 3 32GB SDSDQXN-032G-G46A
This card is a relatively cheap one, it is a UHS class 3 which mean it's an Ultra High Speed card. The class 3 is a great ranking. It's like 10 Euros more expensive than the Samsun and from what i've read works great with the GoPro hero 4 while shooting 4K & 1080p at 120 fps so it should hold up very well.
It was never the upgrade or downgrade of the software. Lucky i left the screen on!

  • Fog around the lens in Camileo X-Sports

I'm very carefull to load the camera at home and even add a dry "moisture pad" in the camera but after a few minutes (5) in the sun I get a fog circle just around the lens. I have to open the case each time.
This part of the camera becomes warm and I guess this is the fog reason but it ruines all my videos.
Any other way to prevent the fog besides from the inserts? Is my camera faulty ?
My first camera was replaced due to a freezing issue but didn't noticed the fog problem, but it was not so warm than now.

    Hi alfot
Don’t be afraid about the fog around the lens.
It seems to be nothing unusual using such action cams within the case (not only the Camileo X sports but other cams like GoPro, etc…)
The warmness may be forcing any moisture in the case to condense on the lens cover.
To prevents this you might use some anti-fog inserts.

  • Problem recording videos with Toshiba Camileo X-Sports

    Hi there,
I recently just brought the Toshiba Camileo X-Sports so am fairly new to how the camera works.
As the title suggests I am having some issues recording.
Right I'll try and explain the best i can
The reason I purchased this device was mainly to be used as a car safety cam (crash cam) as I'm a taxi driver, I drive around 200 miles per day and people's ability to drive sensibly is just getting crazy now and having video evidence if the worst should happen would be amazing. Other reasons was for trips out on my motorcycle and also being able to take this cam under water.
I received the X-Sports on Wednesday, placed the memory card in and hit format card to ensure the card was correctly set for use with the X-Sports
I then read through the manual to see what settings would suit my needs best... I came across looping video.
    Here's what the manual says.
    Looping Video
Looping Video features recording a continuously looping video that overwrites itself until you stop it.
    Looping Video feature includes:
    OFF - Default
Max - Depending on the maximum capacity the camera records a certain number of videos based on 15 minutes files, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
5 Min - Camera records 5 x 1 minute file, then deletes the first 1 minute file to continue recording a new video.
20 Min - Camera records 4 x 5 minutes file, then deletes the first 5 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
60 Min - Camera records 4 x 15 minutes file, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
120 Min - Camera records 8 x 15 minutes file, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
So upon reading this I though right as I have a 64gb card (Samsung EVO 64gb Class 10 U1 micro SDXC) I will put the setting on Max and then if ever I needed to recall a video i will have a decent chunk of the day stored on the memory card leading up to the event.
I took the camera out with me on Thursday just for an hour and when i got home i took the memory card out and placed it into my laptop to view the recordings and this is where my problem comes in.
The first 15min video plays back fine but every file after that will not play. when i open the memory card file the first video has the preview style thumb nail where as the rest of the video files do not.
I then searched online and come across this website looking for answers.
some of the info i read was that 1080 60fps was causing some problems with recording and playback and to turn down the fps to 30fps, also that the stability control was also a possibility for these issues.
So last night i went through and made the necessary changes to my settings 1080 @ 30fps and no stability control. I then set the camera up in the living room for 45mins as a test. i then tested the recordings on my laptop and hey presto it worked. 3x 15min videos all playing back as they should Great stuff
This morning at 5am i left for work taking my shiney new cam with me, happy in what i might capture on today's drive and also be satisfied that my camera is functioning as it should.
I get home, stick the memory card into the laptop and I'm back to square one. my first 15mins was fine and all others were unable to playback. I also tried the memory card in my PC and still had the playback issues.
Does anyone have any ideas or shall I return this as faulty?
Sorry for the big post but wanted to put as much info as possible!
    Thanks, Leon.

  • Camileo X-sports - no thumbnail files using 1080p 60fps

    Hi everyone:
I've recently bought the camileo x-sports. It's a nice camera but i found one problem with it:
It is supposed that with every video or photo that it takes, it creates simultaneously anoher smaller sized file, named as "thm".
The problem is that my x-sports does not create that file for videos in 1080p 60 fps, but it does for 30fps.
Whats the problem with it?, i tried solving it updating the firmware, but it did not result.
    Thank you for your time.
    Enrique.

The thm file extension means thumbnail image file and this is a quick snapshot of your video.
Besides the original recorded video file (VID00001.mp4) a smaller sized video file (VID00001_thm.mp4) will be created during video recording.
This file will be used for faster video content transfer with your WiFi APP from the camera to your tablet / smartphone device and further to upload your videos and photos to social networks with your WiFi APP.
Obviously the snapshot isnt created due to the double frame rate and I guess this happens because the 60fps file is much bigger and probably 30fps videos file quality is good enough to watch it on your tablet / smartphone or for upload to social networks, etc

  • Camileo x-sport: Can I connect external mic to micro USB

    Hello everybody,
I need to record audio with a lavalier microphone.
Can i connect an external microphone to the micro USB of the Camileo x-sport to record audio ?

The micro-USB 2.0 port is a computer interface. This means that this port will be used in order to connect the camera to notebook or computer.
The camileo x sports supports an internal microphone and its also possible to increase the mic sensitivity using the option within the settings menu.

  • Camileo X-Sports - missing dashcam mode

The Camileo X-Sports is great action camcorder but I miss the dashcam mode - recording in loop with date/time shown that starts automatically after detecting the charger or motion.
There is a Video Looping option but it uses the memory that was free while starting the recording.
Is there some hidden option to activate even just the loop because it looks like just a slight modification of the Video Looping option is needed (loop using the entire memory)?

Is there some hidden option to activate
No, as far as I know such mode isn't available...

  • Where to find the user manual for Camileo X-SPORTS

    Hello!
Unfortunately can't find in Toshibas's download sections *user manual* for action camera *Camileo X-Sport*. Need more info about some operations and technical things, to decide about purchasing.
Any ideas, where can I find this extended manual?

  • Camileo X-sports - few questions

    Hi friends,
I have been using two of these awesome cameras to shoot drum video's for my new band's CD.
However I fid that the battery life can be rather poor, and so I have been trying to shoot using plug-in power via the chargers removed.
But after filming lengthy clips, I cant seem to open/view the last few, so have had to then lose a lot of footage. What is the correct file format type,
    for exceeding the 4GB limit, as I am using Windows 7 64-Bit, and shoot on 32GB & 64GB Class 10 Cards (SDHC/SDXC).
Also is there any batteries that are about 1,500-,2,500 MaH in capacity that are compatible?
    Cheers!
    Dan.

    The compatible battery for Camileo S30 / X150 / X450 / X-SPORTS contains the part number: PX1733E-1BRS
    But this battery supports 1050mAh.
Anyway, you could increase the battery working time disabling the Wifi.
    Regarding the 4Gb file limit:
The camcorder uses a FAT32 files system. This file system has a maximum file size of 4GB. The video quality level selected along with the resolution capability of the camcorder will determine how long it will take for the file being created to reach the 4GB file limit. Just before the 4GB limit is reached he camcorder will stop recording and close the file.
Here is a info describes the length of time it will take to reach the 4GB limit depending on the settings selected:
Video Recording Mode Duration of 4GB file
    VGA - 240 minutes
    WVGA - 100 minutes
    HD (720p @ 30fps) - 120 minutes
    HD (720p @ 60fps) - 40 minutes
    HD+ (1080p @ 30fps) - 60 minutes
    HD+ (1080i @ 60fps) - 40 minutes

  • Camileo X-Sports - Temperature is too high

    Hi everyone,
I just received a brand knew Camelio X-Sports cam and I have a serious problem : I installed le camera into the case, I started filming in 1080p60 and whihin minutes the cam just went off.
I started filming again and 2 minutes later, the lcd displayed "Temperature too high", then the cam shutted down.
I removed the cam from the case, then removed the battery, it was indeed pretty hot.
I updated the firmware to 2248 but it didn't change anything.
I think the battery may be faulty but I wanted to ask the forum before returning it to the store.
I didn't find any relative thread on the world wire web :)
    Informations :
    - Camelio X-Sports PA5150E-1C0K
    - Firmware : v2.2.4.8 (I updated manually)
    - 64GB Lexar 300x SDXC
    - Powersave 1min
    - LCD Brightness 2 / 3
    - LCD Off 5s
My apologies for the poor language,
    Best regards,
    Mathieu

I read in the other thread that you purchased the new battery for this cam.
Did you notice the same higher temperature using new battery?
    Feedback would be appreciated.

  • Camileo X Sports - wifi connect app doesn't work

Got this as i thought it was as good as the gopro 3+ black and to be fair even thought its bigger it is as good.
the camera is spot on but feel its let down by the toshiba wifi connect app that you have to use to down load video.
I use the camera on my motorbike and 20 miniutes or so of video.... come home go to download video using the app and it wont work ... down load failed
Anyone have the same problem or is it just me ?

What Android version did you try?
As far as I know the app works perfectly with Android 4.4 "KitKat" but some people reported issues with the Android 5 “Lollipop”… but this app issue could be fixed only by app developer.

  • CAMILEO X-SPORTS fogging around the picture

    Hello,
I'm a "new" User of this ActionCam and I'm very happy with this cam.
It works like expected, I use it on my Bike Helmet.
Now my problem, in this days with the early spring the sun come more and more. Today we have a very sunny but cold day. I prepared the helmet and Cam inside the house.
When I was back from my ride and checked the Videoclips I found on all the Videoclips around a fogging frame. But when I check the Cam or the housing the lens and glas a clear !?
If somebody as explanation for that ?
One other Point, I do not have much experience with this Cam (I have it 5 days).
After 72 minutes recording 1080 60 frames the cam running out of power, is that normal ?
Thank you for answer this (maybe) dumm questions for an beginner.
    regards,
    Stefan

    typos

The battery life depends on the use of the different functions (resolution, image stabilizer, remote control, WiFi, screen with/without power save function), but with normal use is approx. 80 and 90 minutes.
    Regarding the fogy frame:
Not quite sure about this effect but it could be possible that this fogy frame appears due to overexposure. The cam supports the settings called: spot meter
If youre taking a photo from inside towards a brighter area outside, pictures can often be overexposed. The spot meter allows the camcorder to focus on a lighter scene in the distance in order to calculate the optimum level of exposure. This can happen when youre taking photos from dark surroundings.

  • HD Channels freeze after 5 minutes

Since the launch of BT sport my HD channels including new BT sport freeze after about 5 minutes.  Help suggests I restart Home Hub and BT vision box. This gets the system going for the next 5 minutes.  Note this is the behaviour whether accessing BT sport or BBC1 HD.  I can actually get the channel to unfreeze by simply changing channels so its not really necessary to reboot all the boxes.  Unfortunately this approach does not work when trying to record your favourite football team.
Other details: BT Vision box is connected to Home Hub by powerline adaptors and I often get a message with error VMC999 complaining of a slow connection.
What is particularly irritating is that I have a new Samsung smart TV which displays all HD channels perfectly (via Freeview) and seamlessly streams HD on demand content by connecting wirelessly to the BT router.
I have made two attempts this week to contact BT (0800...) but abandonned them as there are'nt enough hours in the day.
So what I propose do is to "enjoy" my "free" BT sport channels (I have infinity account), cancel my BT Vision subscription (if BT ever pick up the phone) and subscribe to Netflix, Blinkbox, etc.
If anyone has any practical or technical suggestions please comment.
    Mike

Did you manage to try using an ethernet cable rather than the power line adapters (PLA's)? Did this solve the problem? As others mentioned the PLA's are probably causing the VMC999 error. You need a reliable connection to the Vision+ box for the multicast channels to work smoothly. Being live channels they have to work in a slightly different way to on-demand content.
If after trying a cable you still get the multicast channels freezing after approx 5 mins every time you try to view/record them then you are not the only one. In that case I suggest you read this thread I created a while back. I got it fixed for my line, but it still seems to be affecting some customers now. Get your stopwatch out!

  • Camileo X100 freezes using remote at the end of clip

I bought a Toshiba Camileo X100 a few days ago.
The camera is great, I like it very much.
However, there is a problem with the firmware I think.
The remote control is functioning, as expected, although there is no detail about its usage in the manual, I had to guess everything.
The problem is the following. If you go with the remote to play a clip, you wait for the end of the clip, and would like to go back to the previous screen, you press the Back/Cancel button on the remote (right bottom button).
If you do this, the camera freezes.
You have to switch it off and switch it on again to be able to use it.
The bug was confirmed by HRP Hungary (distributor and service in Hungary), we tested it together over the phone, so it should not be the problem of my specific camera.
What could you advise me on this?
The following issues are not bugs, but during playback it would be useful to be able to see somehow the details of the clips recorded (at least the time of the recording), and to be able to set some settings for recording, so that the camera does not forget everything at turning off (e.g. stabilization, or pre rec setting etc.).
Why do you have to have the screen open, when you are shooting a time lapse for a few hours, or during playback on TV?
    THX for any help.

    Hi there,
THX for checking. I also sent a letter to Toshiba, first they wanted to replace the camera, then I explained again that the replacement will work the same way, no answer since then.
What I ment during playback, is some information about the clips, e.g. the time, when the recording was made. Currently you only see the number of the file and the total number of files in the list, and the length + the number of the files when you are on one file. On other cameras you see the length, the time of the recording, the settings used. On Camileo X100, you see only the length and the basic setting, but no data on the time of the recording, or other metadata (e.g. stabilization focus...). It is not a bug, but would have been useful.

  • Screen freezing when trying to watch BT sports through Apple TV

I got Apple TV in January 2015, when i try to watch BT Sports through my IPad air the screen freezes.  I have moved the router nearer to the devices but it has not made a difference. Anyone have any solutions i could try?

    I have the same problem...
Months ago, when the version 2.0 software was released, I upgraded, because I was happy about Apple TV supporting AirTunes. But, the upgrade was a disaster in that the Apple TV became completely unusable.
Problem 1: Menus would stick forever, whenever displaying "My" content (i.e., my music, my movies), presumably because it was terribly inefficient at building the image slideshow thing to the left
Problem 2: During playback of a video file (again, in "My" stuff), it would just hang or stop completely at seemingly random times.
Anyway, I backtracked to version one of the software, because version 1 has always been rock solid for me.
So, the point is, the software is now on version 2.3, and I downloaded it, and lo and behold, those two problems still exist, which makes the Apple TV again completely useless for the one main thing I use it for...watching stuff from podcast downloads / DVD rips / my music, etc. Was there ever any fix for this?
