Camino solves slow loading webpages in Safari

For those having troubles with suddenly slow loading webpages in Safari, i found out that when opening the Camino web browser the slow loading web address in Safari will open fast.
So keep your Camino open too and hit the reload button when having problems.
Maybe this tip was submitted earlier but maybe it helps some of you.
For me it works.

I fixed it with this

Power off the router. Wait awhile. Power it back on. Wait until all the lights are lit up  properly.
      It will take a while.
      Restart the computer.
    Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes beside  all items.
Just check the box beside “Remove all website data”.
    Click "Reset".
    Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Turn off Extensions if any, and launch Safari.

  • Unable to load webpage in Safari that loads fine in Windows XP

I can not load a webpage in Safari that loads fine in Windows XP. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
They may be doing some checking of the user agent information the web browser sends and handling Safari incorrectly. Try changing the user-agent to, say, Firefox 3.0.5 and see if you can then access the page.
To change the user agent, you need to enable the Develop menu. This can be done via the Advanced section of the Safari preferences. In the new menu that appears at the top of the screen, you can then select an alternate user agent.
This setting only lasts as long as the tab remains open, so everytime you open a new tab you will need to change that setting from the default.
If that does help, send feedback to the bank about their site not working correctly with Safari. The only browsers they recommend are Netscape 4.5 and IE 5.0 which are both about 10 years out of date

  • Trouble loading webpage in safari ... Blank Image

A friend of mine send me an webpage he has been working on and for some reason it will not load in Safari. I have been through the code, renamed, and deleted to no avail. The page loads fine in Firefox. The only thing that I can figure out is that if you remove the swap image functions it will work again, but he insists that he needs that, and I must admit I have used that function many times in layers / tables with no problems.

I think the problem might be a very simple HTML error. Your style declaration is as follows:

It's missing the closing -->. That is, it should read as follows:

  • Slow-loading pages in Safari after using Airport Express to Extend

I wanted to strengthen the signal of my wireless network, so I purchased Airport Express for the bedroom of my one-bedroom apartment. After setting it up, my Safari connection seems as slow as my former 33.6 dialup. The pages load way too slowly. I have a DSL connection with Earthlink, and after talking with their tech support, they again deferred me to you guys. This is not the first time this has happened and after fixing it the first time, it slowed again so i went back through the steps of rebooting, resetting and reinserting the plug in the Airport Extreme Base Station. I would like to know how to stabalize a wireless network, and how to understand and properly configure all the dialog boxes in the Airport Setup Assistant, Network Preferences, Intenect Connect and Safari Preferences. I am annoyed and tired of being in the dark as I have devoted a lot of time and energy to this matter. Please help.
mini mac   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

The Aiport Express manual points out that using the AEX as a bridge to extend the range of an existing network reduces your 54mbps WiFi bandwidth by about 50%.
I use my AEX with this same setup configuration and it works pretty well for Web surfing, but this portion of my network is somewhat slower. The speed reduction is more noticeable with file transfers, and so I usually plug in to the Ethernet portion of my LAN to download large files or move them between computers.
Recently, my Web surfing also was getting slower and slower. Eventually I traced the problem to a combination of factors. Besides the reduced AEX bandwith, which really only affected a portion of my network, I discovered that Comcast was causing a severe slowdown. After many complaints over several months, faulty equipment at their local "head end" in my neighborhood was discovered and replaced and the slow surfing problem went away. But occasionally, it returned. Then I discovered that Safari was causing slowdown problems as well. The Safari solutions have been widely discussed at http://www.macintouch.com.

  • Snow leopard 10.6.8 wifi connected, cant load webpages

    hi!
just yesterday my computer showed this problem with the internet. as the title says, it is connected to the wifi network (as it has always been) but i face the following problems:
i cant load new webpaged in google chrome and firefox (which are the ones that I actually use)
i can load webpsged that were already saved as bookmarks.
i can load webpages in safari
my icon for dropbox shows a red cross icon
    utorrent works just fine
outlook (the software) get's my new emails
what i tried to solve it:
checked that my wifi networks work perfectly fine with other devices in the house
    restart computer
changed DNS to one that was suggested in another thread in this discussions site
    resetting NVRAM/PRAM
    checked that it is updated
so, i read that some people had similar problems with the new 10.8.2 for mountain lion, or sth like that... but in my case i have snow leopard so i don't think thst's the problem

Hi, this has worked for a few...
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • Safari is loading webpages extremely slow and not loading images...

Not loading webpages a lot of the time and not loading images on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'm new to Mac and I'm running Safari on a Mac Mini. Help? Also deleted ~/Libraries/Safari and it didn't work.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.
    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Safari loads (freezes loading) webpages very slow on iPhone 4

    Hi!
I have a problem with Safari on my iPhone 4 (4.2.1). Since I upgraded to 4.2.1 a week ago Safari is very slow and in 80% of time wont load webpages with first time when in 3G mode with strong bars. Well it loads them but very slowly (It takes approximately 20-30 seconds to load google or other pages). Maybe it would be more precisely to say that it starts to load, than the blue progress bar just stops at around 1/2cm and than after 20-30 seconds it actually starts to open the page and the blue progress bar continues to move. Sometimes (not often) after those 20-30 seconds I get message that page can't be opened cause server stopped to respond...
What is important to my mind is that if I press reload while Safari is loading a webpage it opens fast as it should. So it usually works with second try.
Since I noticed this problem after I upgraded to 4.2.1 I think those two things have connection (4.2.1 and Safari problem) but I might be wrong.
This is happening in different locations around the city and it is not problem with coverage...I have three, four or sometimes even 5 bars 3G.
Anybody having the same problem or can help me with some advice?
    Thank you!

  • Safari loads webpages slow UNLESS 'x' and reload = Fast

I am using an iPhone 5 with 6.0.2.
    LTE network
I find that mobile Safari is extremely slow to load webpages when entering a new address. What really speeds up the process is if i 'X' the loading, then immediately hit the Reload icon in the address bar. When I do this, the websites load nearly instantaneously.
Any ideas how I can get fast loading websites without this workaround?
    Thanks in advance

Hi Tricia and welcome to the forums!
The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.
If not, MacFixit have published a very detailed (very!) article on speeding up a slow Safari, here:
    http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20070416000657464
Many, including me, have also followed the advice given by others here to add DNS codes to their Network Settings, with good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.220
    208.67.220.222
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.

  • Safari slow loading sites j

All of a sudden Safari is very slow loading web pages. The blue bar will start and then it will freeze and stay there. If I hit stop and refresh it zips right across and loads. I have emptied the cache, reset Safari and run Disk Utility. Any suggestions?

Hi again, researching further, I found a poster who wrote:
_+If that doesn't work try changing your dns settings. I had a similar issue and after a visit to opendns.com and changing my settings, things are better than before. Plus I changed the settings on my router and which solved the problem for all my computers._+
though I did the other two things, the .com.apple file thing and the macfixit (well I tried some of those) this is what worked, going to the above mentioned webpage and following the very simple steps. I have no idea what the heck I did actually, but it worked. I also do not know why all of a sudden everything changed and I had to do this trouble shooting. Made me feel like I was back in PC Land.
    aloha, C

  • Safari is extremely slow loading web pages, i have to latest software, no updating needed

Safari is really slow loading internet pages and uploading images. I have the latest software update. I just purchased this mac book pro within the last 3 months..just frustrating that it's already this slow so soon....Any suggestions? I called tech support and nothing they walked me through helped. He was going to reinstall everything but I wanted to wait and see if there was anything else I could possible do before considering I just got this notebook, I hate to reinstall everything. It seems like there should be a simpler solution...

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

  • Safari 4 slower loading with RSS feeds

Don't know what happened in Safari 4 (4.0.2), but now it is much slower loading initially because of the way RSS feeds in the bookmarks bar are now being handled. I can not use the browser until all the RSS feeds have been checked. Even when clicking on an RSS item within a particular page such as CNN, the time to open that feed is significantly slower.
There has always been occasional problems with the bookmark bar for RSS feeds showing there are unread feeds, yet nothing shows unread beside the individual feeds. The problem now happens almost every day. The only solution is to choose the view all RSS feeds and find the unread items.
I am also noticing that web page loading is also much slower than it was in 3.x. Get tired of that spinning loading at the right of the address entry bar. The beach ball is more interesting because it is in color.
I have 18 Mbps broadband, so that isn't the problem, as all the slowdowns happened as soon as I started using Safari 4.
    So much for snappier loading

I don't understand why you're using Safari for your RSS feeds; it's not an ideal solution compared to a dedicated RSS reader like Vienna, NetNewsWire, or Newsfire; I'd use one of those and turn off RSS feeds in Safari's preferences pane.
But Safari 4 is faster than Safari 3; it isn't for you because of a variety of factors, so let's change them and see if we can't speed things up. Here's what you can do:
Try changing your Network settings to use OpenDNS
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use the Get Info panel to Lock the folder.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use the Get Info panel to Lock the folder.
Go to ~/Library/Safari and delete these files:
    Downloads.plist
    History.plist
    LastSession.plist
TopSites.plist (if you don't want to use Top Sites, Lock that file right after you restart.)
    WebpageIcons.db
Restart Safari and see if your problem is solved.

  • Safari is Extremely slow loading pages, like Hotmail, eBay, CNN,

For the past few days, Safari has been extremely slow loading most all pages, especially Hotmail, eBay, CNN, etc. Apple support hasn't been able to help. Hve done all the normal stuff, Reset Safari, restarted, etc.... eventually reloaded Leopard, with all updates, 10.5.2. Still slow uploading pages. Have checked network with speedtest.net, Download 5019 kb/s, Upload 363 kb/s. Was told by everyone I asked, these were good speeds, "normal." But it takes 20 seconds - 60 seconds sometime to upload a page. Have watched "activity monitor" under network, "data sent" goes out fast, data received seems to come back but then stalls. I'm not sure of what numbers I should be getting on the return. Any suggestions????

READ my post, March 17, for answers. I read other post, March 15-08, by Toshinmac and March 17-08 post by Rudolf, answered by Hawaiian Starman and Klaus1.
