Campaign date lies in the past

Question

Hi Marketing Gurus,
I am required to work on scenario where Start date of the campaign is earlier to Markting plan date.
Ex Markting plan date : March 2009
Campaign Satr date : Feb 2009
Is it possible to execute the campaign. What would be the result of this ? will the system throw any error mesage for user.
Also, kinldy inform if its is possible to execute the campaign from Campaign element. May I have short brief on Marketing Plan , Marketing Plan elements, Campaign & Campaign elelments.

Hi ,
        The purpose of the Marketing Plan concept is to have the every thing under one roof . The Marketing Plan is just like a briefcase that will have all your Campaigns and Campaign Elements and Marketing Plan Elements . And its non - Executable thing . You can only Execute Campaigns and Campaign Elements .
Hierarchy is like this :
Marketing Plan --> Marketing Plan Elements --> Campaign --> Campaign Element .
In this Marketing Plan and Plan Elements are optional . You can create Campaign with out Marketing Plan and Marketing Plan Element .
IF you ask me regarding the execution of the Campaign prior date to the Marketing Plan Yes it can be done that but its not preferrable to go for that unless and untile you have the very strong busines reason for doing it . If Marketing Plan is acting like a briefcase I feel if all Campaigns and Campaign Elements
comes under the briefcase it self . Its highly recommended to follow this .
If it is related to the Campaign Element execution in the Campaign . Yes Campaign Element can be executed alone in the Campaign . Campaign Element also acts as Campaign but only differenc is Campaign Element can not exist with out the Campaign . The Business purpose of having Campaigns is to have different Campaign Executions for different periods with different Communication Channels .
IF you wish to run a Campaign for each quarter then you need to have 4 different Campaigns instead of that you can have Campaign Elements for each quarter under one Campaign can fulfill the business need . Thats why each Campaign Element can be executed its way as required by business .
