Campaign Element execution and job status

Hello SAP Gurus,
I have a requirement, where the Client wants to execute the Campaign Element. Is that possible?
He also says, the end user should execute the Campaign element level.
I tried doing that, but the Job status remains as "JOB NOT SCHEDULED".
*Is it a technical error or settings to be done at the back end ?
Kindly help me out.

Hi Srinivasan,
You can execute Campaign elements individually but you have to make sure that u r all uppel level marketing Plan, Campaign should be released first, Job remains not scheduled due to various reasons. if u r running mail campaign then check the target group which u r assigning to campaign has email id maintained also check for mail form maintained.
For job please check Start date if u r running periodic job then the condition must be fullfilled, for test try running job with Start date as Immidiate

RSPCM: T.Code
This transaction is used to monitor the process chains
First:
here you need to add the process chains into the sheet
Second:
Then you can monitor the process chains in this transaction code
Like you can see the : status ,proces chain ,Last run date ,Last run time ,Log ID
Status : Green when sucessful,Yellow when running & Red when you get errors
Now when yoy click on any of the process chain in RSPCM you will go to the LOG VIEW as you see in RSPC transaction
SM37:T.code
This transaction is used for Job Overview
you can see many options in SM37
like Released,active,cancelled,finished,etc
Just select the ACTIVE jobs and also pass STAR in JOB ID & USER ID
here you can only see the active jobs
Goto Step in toolbar
select the program displayed
then chose option GOTO - Variant in main menu bar
in the variant you can see the job belong to which Process chain
if you want to cancel this job come back to SM37 Display screen
Select the Job and select the JOB DETAILS tab in Tool Bar
Collect the WIP ( Work Permit ID)
Go to SM50 T.code and find the WIP
in Main Menu Bar you find the option Cancel with Core choose this it will cancel the Job

What is the difference between Campaign and Campaign Element.

Dear all,
Can any one of you clarify with an example the What is the difference between a Campaign and Campaign Element? and in the same way what is the difference between Marketing plan and Marketing plan element in Marketing Planner?
Please brief me with an example. Your help will be highly evaluated.

Job status in OEM console is not updated

Hi,
I am using OEM job console to run some batch jobs. When a job is submitted for execution, the job status does not change to started/completed. It always remains in the scheduled status, but when I check the database the job is running and it finishes fine. I checked the agent on the target database and restarted the management server. Any thoughts on what could be the issue?

Job status is Job canceled while Executing Campaign

Hi,
i executed a campaign with target group(having 4 BP's).after executing campaign in messages assaignment Block it is showing execution successful.
But in segments the job status is showing Job canceled.in my scenario i am using Communication medium is Email.
presently i am working for CRM 7.0
can u please help me where this error is coming

As dipesh said check the following:
1- Tx- SCOT, check SMTP correct Mail Host and Supported address type of Internet
2- You can check for pending mails using Tx-SOST as well and analyse.
3- Check the errors if any with BPs.

Displaying Jobs Status and Logs without using SM37

Hello All,
First of all, thanks a lot for your time.
We're being asked by the Audit Team to remove tcode SM37 from our Job Roles. Although I agree with them that users should not have "change" or broad display access for the tcode, some of them need to check other user's Jobs status, as well as their Job Logs (which I have managed to restrict using auth. object S_BTCH_JOB).
My question is: do you know if there's any alternative way or a transaction different than SM37 to display other user's Jobs status and Job Logs?
We're providing SMX for user's own jobs, but I have not been able to find an alternative way than using a restricted version of SM37 for displaying other people's Jobs status and Job Logs.

You can either create your own monitor locally ( see transaction RZ20) or develop it on your own (see FM BP_JOB_STATUS_GET).
If you want to use SM37 then you can add SHOW to S_BTCH_JOB but this might be problematic in combination with RELE (of their own jobs).

Iam facing somewhat similar issue.
My requirement is that everytime i want to create a new number for the campaign element. We are using the BAdi CRM_MKTPL to generate the Marketing/Campaign Plan number. And using the Coding Mask to generate the campaign elements. But when we delete some campaign elements and create new ones, the system used the same Ids that are previously deleted. I want only new number to be generated, i do not want to use the deleted Ids.
How to solve this issue? Please suggest me some solution.

This is happening b'cos the Marketing Projects (Plans, campaigns and elements) which u r trying to upload are with same name (External ID) which u have deleted, try either (Rename)change the name of u r marketing Projects while uploding in system.
System error : The external ID is already used in the description of another marketing project. To avoid data inconsistencies in SAP BW, the external ID cannot be reused.

Hi Nikhil,
Use the transaction st05 to check the performance analysis.
1. Goto the transaction st05.
2. Activate the trace.
3.Then do your operation which is hanging.
4. Deactivate the trace.
5. Display the trace.
There you can find where the system spends most of the time.

ESS/MSS - Career and job

Hi Experts,
i am using standard ESS/MSS when i click on Career and job i am able to see skills,candidate Profile,Jobs,Personal Setting
under that when i click on it shows an error that

What happened?
Calling the BSP page was terminated due to an error.

Do we need any settings in R3 side.

these services in ESS correspond to E-recruitment in backend ECC.
Make sure, you are using E-rec 600 component in ECC backend and it is configured properly. Check System -> Status -> Installed Components.
Try to start configuring the things in backend with your HR Consultant and as per as your business requirements.
Is your E-recruitment is on the same server of your ERP system ? If yes, then check this [documentation

Urgent !!!! JOB STATUS : ERROR SQL-6550 ...

The following error message appears under Job Status of Reports Server Queque Status report:
: ORA-06550: line 1, column 13: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'REMOVE_JOB' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement
I couldn't find any documentation about the Procedure
REMOVE_JOB.
Could anybody help ????

Are you using "Event based reporting" OR "Database" Job repository ?
1) Enable tracing in $OH\reports\conf\server_name.conf (trace xml element). Look at the logs in
$OH\reports\logs\
This may give some clue. Any exceptions in the trace will give some clues.
2) The script in which the function is in
$OH\reports\admin\sql\rw_server.sql (function remove_job)
3) Apply latest patch and try.

OEM job : How to force job status after a PLSQL job run?

Hello,
We are under 10gR2, using OEM with a lot of jobs that call PLSQL procedures.
For some obscur reason, when a PLSQL procedure fails, the job status is always "Succeeded". This is not useful at all !!!
So, as we don't kow why, I was thinking about setting the return job status in the PLSQL procedure itself ...
Is it possible ?
How can I do that ?

I dont understant the first time.
Yes its very stange that the job appear like suceed and the PL procedure had failed.
If you want more control to this situation, in my situation i had too much problems with jobs that executing SQL scripts.
Then i change the SQL SCRIPT JOB for OS SCRIPTS JOB and in this scripts i can controlling the execution
This an example

Error assigning Target Group to Campaign Element

Hi
I have created a Target group for a Campaign. I have saved and exported target group to channel and started the Campaign. But it shows error message saying No Target Groups are assigned to Campaign Element..
Why is it showing error even after assigning members for the target group and exporting the TG to Channel. I have updated the status from created to released, approved before Starting the campaign.
Please help.

Do you have a campaign element in your campaign? If so assign the target group to the campaign element in the segments assignment block.

Automated campaign: Element only processing target groups

Hello,
I am using campaign templates to create automated campaigns. I tested all possibilities (setting a profile set to the campaign element, then setting a profile, and then a target group) and the execution only works with target groups. The worst part is that when the campaign is created he copies the target group from the profile set configured in the model to another profile set without name! That way is impossible to reuse it.

Thanks for your replies and sorry for not being clear.
I have a campaign template that is configured as follows for automated campaign execution:
The last screenshot is from the campaign element template, where the system only let me create a segment or target group and not reuse a profile group or target group, like in campaigns created without template.
I tried to add the profile set outside the campaign automation view, but when I create a campaign from the template, the system creates a copy from that profile set.
So the questions is:
Is there a way to reuse profile groups/target groups when using Campaign templates like in normal campaigns (using the profile groups/target groups from the template, not copying them)?

Check The Job Status

My requirement is as below.
I will loop through an internal table and create some files with background processing method.(JOB_OPEN,SUBMIT & JOB_CLOSE)
Now once this job is triggered I need to check the status for that job after maximum 10 mins. Its not neccessary that each job will take 10 mins. only,It can be finished in 2 mins also.
Once the job is finished then I will XCOM that file.
So my question is how to code such timer which will check the job status for that job? I have a FM BP_JOB_READ which returns the job status.
