  • Can a device be authorized with multiple accounts ?

    Hi There,
Can anyone answer this question  ?
My Sony PRS-300 reader is authorized with adobe account X
A PC is authorized with adobe account Y
Now I want to get an Adobe protected eBook on PC (account Y) on my device (account X)
Adobe digital Editions notifies me that the reader authorized with account X, should be authorized with account Y.
Can I authorize my reader like this and still read all other eBooks which allready were on the reader (and activated with account X) ?
    Thanks in advance,
    A new e-Reader.

Hi, I have a simular issue.
I have two AdobeID's one for my work and one for myself. I'm using my AdobeID for work related documentations and my private for ebook to be read on an ebook reader. Is it possible to authorize my ADE with two AdobeID's or do I need to buy two PC's to be able to use two accounts?

  • Can my ereader be authorized to multiple accounts

My father and I both have the PRS-950, and each have our own accounts on the Sony Store. My device is currently configured to access my dad's account (as I was reading one of his books), but I'd now like to log into my own account, but am unable to do so. Shouldn't I be able to authorize my device for both accounts? And how can I now get to my account (wirelessly)? Thanks for any help and advice.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.
While you can register up to six devices (computers and Readers) to one account, each individual Reader can only belong to one particular account.

  • Can a Mac Mini server host my accounting software in my CA and AZ offices?

I am trying to use one set of books that both of my offices can login and use instead of having to merge the info every day, week, etc.

not using accounting software myself but consider if a +cloud storage+ solution such as Dropbox could do what you want.

  • Can a Mac and it's associated iPhone and iPad be authorized for more than 1 Apple ID at the same time?

I want to give my wife and daughters their own Apple ID's and have them purchase stuff using the new one, but I don't want them to lose  all of the music and videos they bought using my ID for the last 8 years.
The main reason I want to do this, is so that when iCloud comes out, I heard that the synching feature is going to be keyed to your Apple ID. My wife, and both of my daughters have always just used my ID to buy everything, and I'm affraid all of our Macs and iPhones and iPods  will synch together.
If I gave each of them their own ID, and they started buying all of their music on the new ID, could their Macs be authorized for the new ID and mine at the same time? It would still be under the 5 computer limit per account.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

yes, a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five Apple ID's.

  • HT1420 Is there any way to see the computers authorized on my account so that I can deauthorize only the ones that are no longer functioning?

Is there any way to see which computers are authorized on my account so I can deauthorize the one's we don't have anymore?

You can only do that by deauthorizing all computers then re-authorizing the ones you still own.
De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
For more information on authorization and de-authorization: iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
Before you get rid of a computer you should do certain things: What to do before selling or giving away your Mac.

  • Can a machine be authorized for two different accounts at once?

My wife and I both have separate iTunes accounts. I want to share my library over our wireless network, and authorize her Macbook to use my account as well as hers so she can see one of my purchased TV shows.
To put it another way, I would have two machines authorized for my account - its just that one of them would also have an additional account.
Is it possible for her iTunes to recognize and be authorized to play purchased content from two different accounts? And would trying to do that foul anything up? Has anyone tried this?

    Hello, Welcome to discussions.
Apple iTunes allows you to have 5 machines per iTunes Store account to be used at any 1 time. So your Apple ID being authorized on your PC/Mac and her Apple ID being authorized on her PC/Mac would be 1 total authorization each. Then once you authorize her PC/Mac with your account and she authorizes hers on yours then you each will be using 2 out of your available 5.

    HI,
The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as  Jabber Name/ID.  (Google Run  Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another.  (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen  (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

  • HT204053 can I have two cloud accounts on one mac. Different i tunes accounts and users

Can I have two ic;ouds on the same mac. This is a ridiculous set up. Why do I need to create a user name and insert all of this information just to get a simple answer. its no wonder people end up googling stuff rather than using this website.

If you prefer to Google, then Google. On here you stand a good chance of getting a direct answer from experienced users. And the login is necessary because without it we'd get more spam and stupid posts than we do now. Pretty well all online forums require an login for the same reason.
To answer your actual question. Firstly, you can use different Apple ID's for iTunes (and iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) and iCloud itself, with email, Calendar and Contacts syncing, PhotoStream, and so on. There is no conflict about doing this.
If you want to use two separate actual iCloud accounts you can do one of two things:
    1. You can set up a second user account on your Mac: then each user account can be separately signed into and iCloud account with all its facilities.
    2. Having decided which iCloud account is to be your main one, and having signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it (and enabled Mail, Calendars and so on) you can sign in with the other account in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars. The email, calendars and contacts will appear alongside those belonging to the first account. The only differences from the primary account are a) Email is not 'pushed' but checked at intervals, and b) you can only use PhotoStream with the primary account.

  • HT4436 Can there be more than on iCloud account on a computer?  I have an iCloud account with my iPhone and would like to view my photo stream on my husbands mac.  I do not have a mac but an older PC

Can there be more than one icloud account on a computer?  I have an icloud account with my iphone but would like to view my photo stream on my husbands mac.  I do not have a mac but an older PC. thanks

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The simple answer is yes you can. On a single user computer, the user can have secondary iCloud accounts, which they can add through the system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. The only drawback here is that only the primary iCloud account can use photo stream. This can be worked around by having a second user account on the Mac. Each user account could then have a different primary iCloud account, one for you and one for him, your account could then receive your photo stream pictures.
Are you also aware that you can have iCloud on your PC and download your photos stream pictures to it.

  • HT204053 I have an iCloud account on my Mac which has a different account name to that on my iPhone. How can I change the Mac account name to that on the iPhone?

    Hi,
I have an iCloud account on my Mac which has a different account name to the iCloud account on my iPhone. How can I change the Mac account name to match the iPhone one? Kuranda.

You can't change it in one step. Sign out of the one now on the Mac, sign onto the right one.

Your description of the problem is a bit confusing.  Do you have ONLY ONE Apple ID or do you have MORE THAN ONE?

I'm buying a new MAC.  How many machines can you associate with one CS Cloud account?

You can install the software on as many computers as you like.
However you can only activate the software and use it on a maximum of two computers at any one time.
