Can 2 Apple ID's share the same cloud?

Trying to back up my husbands Iphone to iCloud.  Was hoping to just use mine???  Not sure how things work here.  Does he need to create one for himself and pay for it?
Thanks in advance for the help

Hi jojoross219,
First of all, it is possible for your husband to use iCloud as a free service. He can have an iCloud account with 5GB of storage without paying. See this page -
Apple - iCloud - Everything you love, everywhere you go.
This article gives you an idea of what iCloud actually backs up -

Multiple devices can use the same iCloud account for backups if desired. See this article -

  • How can multiple apple Id's share the same iTunes library?

We are now starting to venture into teenagers and ore-teens. I would like to create multiple ID's for messaging and contacts, but I still want to use the same library... Is that an option?

Yes they have different sign ins for iCloud, FaceTime, Messages and iTunes, you can all use the same ID to sign into iTunes but use different ones for the others.

  • Can two apple TV's in the same house share one itunes library?

Can two apple TV's in the same house share one itunes library and play different movies at the same time?

I have two ATV G2 and one ATV G1 at home with the same iTunes library. I have played two different movies in the ATVs. One interesting thing you get is that you can start one movie and pause it and then you can continue playing it in the other ATV. The iTunes controls where you pause or stop the movie.
Agree that bandwidth is the limit here and probably the server throughput. But, so far I haven't experienced any problem.

  • My partner and I have now both got an apple mac we share the same itunes account but want to use different icloud id's so that I dont get all her documents sync to my computer... is this possible?

my partner has an ipad and i have a mac book pro... we share the same itunes account (apple id) but believe we can have a seperate apple id for use of the icloud... we do not want each others documents to be in sync with ipad and mac book... help? thanks

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.

  • Can two Macbook Pro's share the same Itunes folder(all media in Ituens) on an external drive (like Time Capsule)? How and what issues may arise?

Hey, I have two macbook pros (250 gb). They are both running out of space. My first thought was to share an iphoto library off of Dropbox or our Time Capsule. But, I heard that if one file gets corrupted (interenet cuts out, for example) then the whole library gets corrupted. Well, we're full again and now I am wondering if I could move our Itunes folders to our Time Capsule, sync/sort them both so there won't be any duplicates and then use this as a shared itunes library. So first, is this possible? Both computers share the same itunes account.
Second, if I do, and I purchase a song, show, whatever, does it automatically be added to the itunes library on our Time Capsule and then it is available for both computers to access? Or do  I need to "import" it on both?
Third, does the "file corruption" issue listed above pertain to itunes?
I saw a discussion about this but it was form 2008. I am sure things have changed a bit since then.
    Thanks for the help!

    No.

  • Can 2 different computer accounts share the same Itunes library?

Does anyone know: Is it possible for two users on the same computer to "SHARE" the same iTunes Library so you don't have to duplicate libraries on the hard disk?
So far I have been having to load 25GB of Music on my wife's account and the same 25GB itunes library on my account.
I have put the single iTunes files in the "PUBLIC" music folder and set that as the default on the ITUNES "Preferences" but still does not work for some reason.
    Thanks

Yes sir, did that but it still has the same problem.
Now when I go to my wife's account (everything identical , playlists, etc. in both accounts) it does not know where to locate the songs. I place it in the default and it works, but as soon as I go back to the other persons account, the default has automatically changed back, and none of the playlists (although still intact) have again lost the location of the actual music (located on in the Public Music folder) very frustrating.
It would seem to be simple.

  • Can my wife and I share the same Apple ID on each of our iPhones?

I'm trying to set hers up and now it's showing each of our contacts in the other's contacts list (in addition to our own).  Now I'm worried that we'd have the same apps and end up with each other's email if I proceed.  Can we have separate settings while sharing the same Apple ID??

    Actually he can.
Sign into iCloud using husband and wife's individual unique apple id.
But sign in iTunes store or App store or iBook store using a single apple id (be it husband's or wife's)... both iPhones can have the same media (ie, books, songs, videos, apps), but different iCloud account to manage different emails, find my iphone, iMessage, calendars, notes, reminders, etc...
Just have to remember to sign out and sign in using different ID.
iOS4.x.x does not support this, but iOS5 does.
I am using 3 different Apple IDs to access Apps, iTunes and iCloud respectively.

  • How can my Spouse and I share the same Itunes Music on separate machines?

My Spouse is on a PC desktop and I am on a Macbook Pro.  I have a large Itunes library on my Computer and he has a fair sized Library too.  We listen to a lot of the same music and each have Ipods. It's crazy to buy the same music twice.... is there a way we can share our music and make playlists for our separate Ipods?

  • Can two Instances of Planning share the same SQl Server Instance?

    Hi
Can anyone clarify me on the below
Is it possible to have our DEV and TEST instances of planning (on different host servers) point to different tables in the same instance of SQL Server 2005. I know that the apllication databases can be directed to different table names but what about the core tables:
    FSDHAADMS
    FSDHBIP
    FSDHSS
    FSDHPLANAPP
    FSDHPLANSYS
    Thanks in advance.

I think it will work. As long as you create separate SQL databases for the planning system files for dev and prod on the sql server. If your planning web for dev is deployed on server x, and planning web for prod is on server y, when you run config utility on server x you would point to the SQL database u created for dev. Repeat on prod when u run the config utility just point to the planning system database you created for prod.
haven't done this myself but sounds possible.

  • Can 2 Mac Mini's share the same wireless keyboard

I have just purchased a 2nd mac Mini and tried to get it setup but it would not accept my keyboard. It took a wahile but did recognoze the mac address but did not seem to accept it and kept on searching. Does it need it's own keyboard? It accepted the mouse.

In simple terms, no. You can use a kvm A/B switch to select which mini the keyboard and mouse will control. Think of this, if both minis always listened to one keyboard and mouse they will both be doing the same thing together.

  • HT204053 Can multiple apple ID users share the iPad easily?

Hi, just purchased the new IPad for me and my partner to share, we both have apple ID's and assumed we could easily access emails etc. Does anyone know how we can both get equal share of the device? Cannot find a way to swap between ID's except in music when warnings indicate that another user would not be able to use iPad for 90 days, hence we did not continue. Are they really only designed for single person usage?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The iPad is more of a personal device than a family device, you may however be interested in adding secondary iCloud accounts (settings > mail, contacts, calendars)
You can only have one primary account but multiple secondary accounts, secondary accounts cannot use photostream or document sharing.

  • How can a family of 6 share the same itunes library?

My family has a major problem on our hands. We are new to ipods and itunes. We have 1 itunes account. My sons are too young to have their own accounts. They are too young for a credit card, and can't have a paypal account until they're 18. We want to keep our music separate from each others. How do we do this with only one library? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

One thing not mentioned is that if you decide on the multiple user approach, you can have your music folder in Shared Documents so you only store the tracks once.
Each user is free to choose which of those tracks they want in their library.
There is an Apple help article on multiple users.

  • Can my wife and i share the same itunes account on different iphones?

    Hello everyone,
My wife has had an iTunes account, Iphone, and Ipod for a while.  I just bought an Iphone and Ipod and would like to utilize her music library without messing up her phone or itunes account.  We'd like to maintain separate apps and stuff on our devices...so when I download music and apps, she doesn't want that showing up on her phone when she pairs it to her itunes account.  Can this be done?
I have heard that I need to create my own Apple ID, which I have...so I can download my own apps...but will I have access to her itunes music if I do that?
    Thanks!

  • Can you have multiple accounts on the same ipad2?

Can my wife and I share the same iPad using two different accounts? If so, how?

If you want differing accounts (like on a PC where you login to different user accounts) with different settings (like background image, icon settings per page, etc,) per account, then no.
