Can 2 iPhones show as same MAC address if using same wifi?

If 2 iPhones are accessing a site through the same wifi, to another user could it look like they have the same MAC address? Ie look like the same person with multiple accounts?

Hey John,
Yes, you can have multiple iPhones remote controlling iTunes.

  • Can two Iphones have the same account/email address?

Can two iphones have the same account/email address? I bought two phones-one for my wife and the other for myself. They are both under the same account /itunes account /email address-Would this cause a conflict with the two phones?

No, as long as you want to share the same account for iCloud's services like Mail, Calendars, Contacts, Reminders, Notes, iCloud, Documents etc.
I personally would create two accounts so that everyone could have and use  heir own mail account, address book, create meetings, reminders etc. without reading and deleting stuff of the other person.

  • How to sync iPhone 4 contacts to Mac address book

    Hello!
I can sync all my contacts from the Mac address book on my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 4. However, why does it not sync the iPhone contacts to the Mac address book? Should it not be like a two way sync? I was looking at the syncing options but it does give that option. I just want to make sure that I have the same contacts on my iPhone and Mac. I do understand that MobileMe does that. But till I can afford to have MobileMe, maybe there is another solution?
    Anybody... help!

I had a major drama doing this last night, have managed to restore my Address Book file with a backup after I mistakenly wiped all the contacts I had created on my iPhone. Yikes! I suggest when you sync your iPhone leave it plugged in after the sync until you check that the contacts are all where they should be. That way, the most recent backup that is done automatically when you plug in the iPhone will still have all your iPhone contacts should something go amiss and they can be restored. Also export your computer's Address Book (File>Export in Address Book) which should land in your Documents folder.
To get all my iPhone's contacts back into my Mac's Address Book, I created a group in my Mac Address Book called 'iPhones contacts'. When I synced the iPhone with my Mac, (Info tab>Sync Address Book Contacts in iTunes), I checked the box that says 'Add contacts created outside of groups on this iPhone to...' and checked the new 'iPhone contacts' group and when I synced, all the new contacts on the iPhone landed in my Mac's Address Book. Phew. Heartstopper!

  • Can I find serial number or mac address of ipad if I know only Apple ID on it?

Can I find serial number or mac address of ipad if I know only Apple ID on it? Ipad and macbook air were stolen and I do not remember their serial numbers.

No, the MAC address, the unique set of letters and numbers that identify the network interface in the device, will not help you, or anyone else, locate a stolen iPad. If you didn't set up Find My iPad on the device before it was stolen, then there will be no way to track it. The police typically will only want the serial number of the stolen items so they can identify them should they manage to find the thief.
If none of the methods suggested by the others - receipts, iTunes, registration with Apple, packaging - can provide you the serial number, then there's no way you can obtain that information

my iphone will no longer connect to my home wifi. it recognises it, but the searching cirlce is constant next to network name. there are three laptops and another iphone on the same wifi that have no connectivity issues. i have reset the network settings but that did not help. the issue started last week when the second iphone was introduced to the house, could this be the cause?

    No.
Any problem connecting your iPhone to any other wi-fi network besides your own?

The internet on my Iphone 4 doesn't work when I use the Wifi at home. My Mac works fine. On the Iphone it shows it's connected but it doesn't open any app. Anyone knows what to do? Thanks

  • All saved Wifi networks from iPhone showing up in Mac Pro Network Preferences

Network Preferences > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Preferred Networks  (Remember networks this computer has joined is checked)
However, this is a Mac Pro that I've only owned a few months and recently updated to Yosemite... it's never connected to any of those networks except for my one office Wi-Fi.  This list is showing every single Wi-Fi network I've ever used from my iPhone and iPod going back to 2009!
Why is my Mac Pro showing all networks that only my iPhone has joined?
How did old Wi-Fi networks from my iPhone get into the "Preferred Networks" list of my desktop Mac?  Bluetooth, iTunes sync, iCloud, Keychain, etc?
Is this a feature or a bug?  If it's a bug, I'll use my Apple Developer account to report it.  If it's a feature, please explain the mechanism that saved the networks from the iPhone over to my Mac Pro in the first place and how do I use/control it?   i.e., if I delete these "remembered" networks from Network Preferences on the Mac Pro, will the same saved networks also be removed from my iPhone?  Ironically, these "remembered" networks cannot even be viewed from the iPhone Settings.

Because both are signed into iCloud Keychain with the same Apple ID.
Yes, thank-you for confirming my suspicions.   However...
    - Can you tell me exactly where this feature is documented with detail?
    - How it can be controlled or disabled for this device?  I don't see this in my iCloud or Keychain options, and since my Mac Pro will not be traveling, it's really pointless to have all these various remote Wi-Fi networks listed (pointless for me, although I can see it as a handy tool for multiple iOS devices and/or a MacBook).
    - Most importantly, if I delete them from my Mac Pro, will they also get removed from iCloud?  I want them to remain in iCloud and on my iPhone.

  • How can I not show my e-mail address in "from" line when sending out e-mails?

I don't want to show the e-mail address in the "from" line when I send out e-mails.  Is there a way to hide that?

Okay here is where I am at so far and thanks for sticking with me, we may have success eventually! Can you confirm the following:
1--I Go into the iMac Address Book and click on File/Export/Address Book Archive.
2--It then asks me where I want to save Address Book and I indicate Desktop.
3--I then assume I somehow transfer this Desktop file to the iBook--can I just copy the file, email it to the iBook, and paste it into the iBook Desktop?
    Yes
4--If I'm accurate so far, I then do the same with the iBook Archive and save it
    to the iBook Desktop.
    Yes
5--NOW I open the iMac archive that is on the iBook desktop and it will ask me if I want to overwrite the existing iBook address book and I indicate Yes and it will then place the iMac address book on the iBook.
    Yes
6--When and if I want to put the iBook address book back into the iBook I click on the file that is on the iBook Desktop and proceed to put the 'old' iBook address book back in.
    That's it.
If I am correct on this, another question arises--does this method transfer every email address I use as I notice in Address Book under 'All Contacts' there are some that are missing. I may not have manually added each and every address to my Address Book so maybe that is why some are missing and may not show up in this transfer of Archives? Thanks for your patience Barney.
That's what I would assume. Like I said, the Archive is really just a copy of the AddressBook folder which contains everything related to Address Book and Mail's previous recipients.
Now, the Address Book contacts and Mail's previous recipients are different entities--they just share the same storage location. So, if that is what you mean by there are some missing, they should still auto-complete in Mail since the previous recipients also is used for auto-complete.

  • Why does two iPhones show the same text

MY sons iPhone and husbands iPhones are sharing the same texts and syncing with one another how to do I stop this

Use a different Apple ID for iMessage on both phones.  (You can continue to share the same ID for iTunes.)
One of you needs to go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a differert ID.  If you are sharing the same ID for FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime to avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls.

  • Can multiple iPhones share the same iTunes account?

My daughter received her first iPhone.  She activated it today using my iTunes account and all of my contacts were overwritten with her contacts. How can we fix this? My other daughter received hers today as well but she hasn't activated it yet. What can we do to prevent this from happening? Also, can multiple iPhones share one iTunes account?
    Thanks

  • Hyper-V on Windows 8.1 is messing with MAC address when sharing my Wifi card

    Hello,
I'm using Hyper-V on Windows 8.1 to build a complete SharePoint Development environment.
All of my VM are following this scheme:
a "local" private network shared between the host and all VM, using a static IP address plan (192.168.10.0/24)
a RJ45 external network, attached to my physical ethernet card. This network uses DHCP protocol
a WIFI external network, attached to my wireless network card. This network also use DHCP protocol
When plugged on the ethernet card, I have no issue. Both the host and the guest OSes are getting a valid IP address.
However, when I try to connect on the wireless card, I get some weird errors. Actually, my guest OS are getting the same IP address than the host. This issue an IP address conflict.
Someone else got the same kind of behavior : Windows 8.1
Hyper-V : IP address conflict on Guest OS
I've checked my MAC address plan, and it seems correct.
Using WireShark (a tool I'm not used to I admit), I can see that all DHCP request of the guest os, are sending the host MAC address, and not the guest' one.
Does anyone have an answer to this weird behavior?
    Thanks,
    steve

    Hi Steve,
Please try the following step and then retry ipconfig /renew in your VM :
    1. Configure the WI-FI router to assign a static IP address to the host’s wireless network adapter(the IP should not be in DHCP Pool).
    2. On the host, configure the wireless network adapter to use a static IP address. The IP address will be the same address configured in step 1.
    3. Using Hyper-V Manager, create an external network switch that is bound to the host’s wireless network adapter
    Hope this helps
    Best Regards

    Hi Elton,
First of all, thanks for your effort.
I will try your suggestion, but even if it works, it won't solve the actual root the issue.
Moreover, it is only relevant if I can control every wireless network I'm connecting to. What about if I travel and I connect with a customer wireless network? what about an hotel wireless network?
As I said, wireshark shows me DHCP requests using the wrong IP address. I strongly believe there's a bug somewhere between the wireless card driver and Hyper-v Mac-Bridge service.

  • Mac-Address Filtering using more than one SSID

    Hey All,
I've been asked to configure mac-address filtering on our WLC 4402 and it was basically straight forward.  however i noticed that in creating the filter you can only choose 1 SSID or the other option would be to choose all?  My question then is what happens if i need a user one 2 specific SSIDs?  can i create separate filters for each SSID but using the same mac?

No you only can have one MAC address filter. You should only have a device associated to one SSID. So as you know, you either choose one WLAN or choose all.

  • How can I include telephone numbers when printing address labels using Dymo Labelwriter Turbo 330?

I am able to pull info from Apple Address Book using the Dymo Labelwriter application, but I cannot seem to include telephone numbers. Does anyone know how to do this?

    short answer
    1 - NO
2 - It is up to apple to correct the issue and I have heard they will look at it. It doesn't hurt to call customer support both apple and dymo to let them know you are unhappy about this [it used to work fine in later versions of 10.3]. Also don't let them convince you that you must have installed the driver wrong or something. I have had the same problem on 3 different macs [one of which was brand new] with 2 different dymo label printers.
