Can a border be placed around a cropped image?

I've been making picture-in-picture insets by scaling an overlaid clip and applying a dropshadow and using the Basic or Simple Border video filters. However, in some cases I want to crop in on a part of the clip that I'm insetting. The borders disappear in such cases. They are being "drawn" around the now missing outer perimeter of the clip.
Is there a way to put borders around the cropped portion of a clip. Can the "crop" be made permanent in some way? Or do I need to write out the cropped clip and reimport it?

There are third party filters that will do this. I think CGM has one. Another way is to put a color matter on the layer underneath the PIP and crop to just around the picture to make it look like a border. You can add a drop shadow to the matte later if you want.

  • Placing more than one images in one container (was: InDesign)

    Hi,
I'm new to inDesign. Can anybody help me placing more than one images in one container like rectangle in which I can get coordinates of the different grphics/images with reference to the container not document page.
    Thanks and best regards
    Sal

I´n not quite sure what you are trying to do but I´m afraid it´s not possible in InDesign. Coordinates are always referencing the page, or actually the origin which is usually on the top-left corner of the page.
If you just want a single frame for multiple images, you could try to use paste into command. Group your images and Edit > Cut. Draw an empty rectange, select it and Edit > Paste Into. Now you have your group of images inside that one frame and they shouls act like one image if you for instance scale your frame....

  • Black Border Placed Around Videos

I upgraded from version 8 of Adobe Premiere Elements 64bit to 10. Using defaults AVI DVNTSC videos played back in GOM or Windows Media Player have a border (frame) about 20% of the image dimension. The characteristics of old and new are the same 720 by 480 NTSC, 29.97 fps YUY2(RAW).  Suggestions would be appreciated.

The second DVD contains additional Functional Content, such as additonal Menus, Themes/Instant Movies and more Title Templates.
For MJPEG material, see this ARTICLE. As many camera mfgrs. tweak their CODEC's, and especially the MJPEG CODEC, I would first look to the utility disc, that comes with your camera. There should be the specific version of the MJPEG CODEC used, though it might only be installed with a camera driver, or with editing/cataloging software.
    Good luck,

  • Putting a border on a cropped image/video in FCE 3.5

Hello folks, my first post so be gentle.
Can anyone tell me how I can put a border on a cropped image or video clip in FCE 3.5?
At the mo if I want a border on a PIP I need to scale it down then make the border thicker, it meens the area that I want to see in detail (the PIP) is smaller than it is in the main window.
So cropping is the obvious solution but when I do the border gets cropped out too.
I could do it with miltiple layers but it seems a messy workaround.
    Cheers

Please excuse me for horning in. Andy's instructions specify this plugin is for Final Cut Pro. Do you know if it is also good for Final Cut Express?

  • Border on Cropped Image

I have a cropped image moving across the screen over a background. I know that I can add a drop shadow but can I add a color edge and how?

This will do what you want. Notice the border option.

  • How can I put a parenthesis around the number?

    Hi expert people!!!
One question:  How can I put a parenthesis around the number because I have this
    write:   /123 t_bsid-pago1, 141 t_bsid-pago2,
              157 t_bsid-pago3, 175 t_bsid-pago4,
              193 t_bsid-pago5.
and if I put the parenthesis hardcoded like this:
    write:   /123 '(', t_bsid-pago1,')'.
when the variable are printed the parenthesis is write very separated from the amount.
I know that maybe I can use the CONDENSE or CONCATENATE statement but for that I need to create a variable type N, or STRING and if I do that I don't know how can I put the decimals points back.
    Thanks!!

    Hi Carlos,
    Try this:
    REPORT  ZTESTRAJ.
    data: v_val(10) type p decimals 2 value '123456.75',
          v_text type string.
    start-of-selection.
      write:/ v_val.
      v_text = v_val.
      concatenate '(' v_text ')' into v_text.
      condense v_text no-gaps.
      write:/ v_text.
    <b>Output:</b>
    test program...
    123,456.75
    <b>(123456.75)</b>

I can save a cropped image or an adjusted image. Thanks, Lily A.

Hi Matt, thanks for your reply.  Have realised that Zoom in Iphoto is just  a viewing tool and not an editing tool.
Was creating beautiful abstractions by zooming in and wanted to create a new image of the result.   Have since discovered that cropping after zooming takes me a little way to where I want to go but it isn't the same effect.  Will perhaps have to try to create it when actually shooting.  Am doing a photoshop course in February and maybe will learn a bit more then, too.  Am pretty much an amateur just finding my way.
    Thanks again,
    Best, Lily

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Can I put a frame around a photo in premier elements

I have used photoshop Elements for years for scrapbooking, but as just starting to use premier Elements.  my first project will be using a lot of very old family portraits and put on a DVD.  can I put a frame around a photo in premier elements and can i use background papers like I do in elements.  I am using version 11 for both.
    Thanks

Put the background on track 1. Put the photo on track 2.  Put the frame (with transparancy) on track 3.  Use the motion properties in the effects panel to adjust the scale and/or position as desired.
It's just like using layers in Photoshop Elements.
Also, resize your stills to no larger than 1000 x 750 pixels for SD and 2000 x 1500 pixels for HD.

It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • How do I place a border around a imported image

simple question how do I place a border around a imported image.

An alternate 'hack' using EA UI, aside from Maries sound css routine.
Select the image element and explore/experiment with the Box Shadow properties.
Example below - both Drop and Inset 'faux' border.
    - set x, y and Blur to 0 and toy with the Spread integer using a positive value.
    - alter color property to your liking. I used black at 100% Alpha.

  • Why after "placing" a PS CC image in ID CC can't I open it in PS CC (while still in ID) to make some

Why after "placing" a PS CC image in ID CC can't I open it in PS CC (while still in ID) to make some corrections by double clicking and holding down the alt button?

    Hi,
For Photoshop CC to open up by default on double clicking on an image (with Alt key pressed), Photoshop CC should be the default application to open the image file. Right click on image file on your system and select Get Info. In the "Open with:" field select Photoshop CC and click on Change All button just beneath it.
Now try double clicking on any image(with Alt key pressed) placed in InDesign , it should open in Photoshop. Please let me know if this works for you or not.
