I have. Cracked my screen - can it be repaired at Genius Bar ? How much will it cost?(UK) I have no insurance/warranty cover! Thanks for helping...

It will cost you approximately US$219.00 to US$299.00 depending on the model.
Apple will replace the entire iPad; they don't repair.

    Can iphone screens be repaired?

At this time some Apple stores in the US can replace the iPhone 5 screens.  To fix broken screens on all other phones, Apple replaces the entire phone.
You can try and find a 3rd party repair shop, but you will void all service on that phone, warranty or otherwise forever.

And how much does it cost

You can just google "Repair screen" and you will find lots of companies that will do it cheaper than Apple, but I think its always better to trust Apple over any other company.

  • MacBook slow wakeup, black screen, Mavericks, took to Genius bar, worked OK for about a week and now the same.

MacBook slow wakeup, black screen, Mavericks, took to Genius bar, worked OK for about a week and now the same.
Screen actually seems a very dark navy blue almost black. sometimes can see cursor in white
    Only happens sometimes

If you can somehow document any processes you've put the MacBook
through, which can cause it to repeat the symptoms you've seen, be
sure to write down the sequence of events if your action and resulting
issues can be make re-occur. Then you'd have a fair chance at some
one looking deeper to find the real cause of this problem. {If you have
a digital camera handy, you can take a picture of the screen if it should
display some curious content other than a black screen, such as that
seen in a kernel panic or other message. Otherwise, a working Mac
    can take its own screenshot.}
The computer should be returned to the Apple Store genius bar for
further evaluation & more in-depth diagnostic tests of long duration.
Sometimes a test may not run any of the additional software, together
or separately, that you may be accustomed to using. Perhaps the basic
OS X and a few applications work just fine.
If the issue is due to a conflict in software and not a hardware failure,
the cause may be harder to discover. If you have a complete backup
of the system and your files on an external drive, that may help if you
need to reinstall it. However if there is a problem in that software set
a new installation without conflicting software may be required in order
    to troubleshoot the machine.
How old is the computer, how much RAM installed, how large a hard
disk drive and what is the remaining unused capacity of that drive?
(The HDD capacity will show 'other' so that may be unsubstantiated.)
Are there any indications in Activity Monitor, or in the system log files
from Console, to show crash logs or other effects from the Time/Date
of these slow wakeup and black-screen intervals? There may be.
Some of the system report may be helpful to those who know how to
read the resulting mass of files. Perhaps one of the more advanced
users who occasionally reply here will see your thread and offer a
method of accessing the OS X via Terminal or single user mode,
for troubleshooting purposes. Mine is an older OS X with less fuss.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Can the iPad screen be repaired. I dropped mine and the corner area is cracked

Can the IPad 2 screen be repaired, if so, how?  I dropped mine and the corner area is cracked. Viewing screen still ok.

Accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty, unless you are in the US and bought AppleCare+ (which covers 2 cases for an excess). In the US the price for repair (i.e. replacement as it's a sealed unit) is $249 for the iPad 2 (plus $6.95 if shipping is required), and here in the UK it's £199 (plus £6.95 if shipping). Third-party companies might be able to repair it for less, but using an unauthorised repairer would void any warranty that you have left (you'd also get 90 days warranty from Apple if you do it via them)

  • Can a cracked screen on my ipod touch be repaired

can my ipod touch be repaired if the screen is cracked?  thanks

I have the exact same problem my iPod touch 4th generation fell a foot and hit the wood floor literally a foot to 2 feet maximum and the screen shattered.Like not even a big crack but like tiny little cracks and pieces of glass coming off. Is there a place that can fix screens? If you find one PLEASE PLEASE tell me I haven't used my iPod in 2 months and my sister was the one that dropped it.

  • Can the cracked screen of my iPod Original be repaired?

I just recently found my old iPod Original that I had purchased several years ago. I forgot which generation it is. Is there any way I can still find a place that will repaire the cracked screen? If the generation needs to be specified, where can I look to find out? (I think the iPod Original is different from the iPod Classic, but looks very similar.)

Here is the Apple Support Article to help you identify which model.

Normally if you look at the back of the case, you might find some serial numbers, the last 3 characters, tell you which model.

  • Can a cracked screen smell bad

my ipod 5 screen cracked and it smells so bad is that normal

Did you find out what was causing that? We have an iPad with a cracked screen that smells like that. I have it in a gumdrop case and you can't smell it when it's completely enclosed. Wondering what that is though.

  • I can't install Lion. Nobody (include genius bar people) can't know how to resolve this problem. Interesting?

I can't instal Lion. After restart my MBP try start and freeze on silver screen with apple sign. Nobody know how resolve this problem. I talk for 3 hours to Apple technical support, online support. I was at Apple Store on Genius Bar. NOTHING. If in Apple is somebody who know?

Seems like the other networks are blocking you from sending emails.
Do yo have more that one email account on the iPod?
Have you tried sending from another account?

  • Can you drop your phone off at genius bar without an appointment

Is an appointment required to drop your phone off at the genius bar?  My son dropped his phone and it will not work.  I'd like to have a diagnostics run to see about the possibility of repairing it.

Yes, it is required in advance. Please make a Genius Appointment.

  • Combodrive repair at Genius bar?

OK, my combodrive on my Macbook is broken. Wont play CDs/DVDs, just spits them out after about 20 seconds or so.
I bought Applecare with my Mac back in September 2006 so I guess I'm covered, do I just take the receipt with me to the Genius Bar when I see them later today? I have the box thing that you got but never loaded the provided CD or registered online.
Help take some pressure off my back please, thanks!

You can end the guesswork by going [HERE|https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do] and putting in your serial# and country.

Not unless the step above shows your warranty is not in place. All you need is your MacBook....you don't even need your power supply.

I hope that I did. -GDF
