My girlfriend dropped her 3 hour old iPad and has cracked the screen, are they replaceable?

As Ralph says, it is possible to replace the screen. However, I believe that Apple usually won't do so, because the physical trauma that caused the screen to break may also have damaged other thigns, so you may end up having to pay more than the replacement price for repairs. Try Apple first, but if they won't fix it, she'll only have two options: try a third-party repair shop, since the warranty is void at this point anyway, or just buy a new iPad.

My son has a 3 month old laptop with a touchscreen. Unfortunately he cracked the screen. The actual picture is fine, but the screen cover is cracked. After much searching we found the replacement cost…..all in is some $500. I am trying to find out if the screen can be replaced with a non touch screen. This will save him $250. I cannot seem to get the answer from HP, despite having been a client for many years.
He ordered the HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition customizable Notebook PC. The product number is XC102AV.
It also shows a product number ww146av . The connector is on the bottom left of the screen.
I am pretty sure that the part number, per the manual, is 631019-001
I had been getting helpful replies from “Erico”, but have not heard back on this issue.

Apple does not replace cracked screens. They offer out of warranty replacements at about 50% of the cost of the iPad when new. If your iPad is no longer in warranty, there are 3rd party repair facilities, which will replace a cracked screen. My money would be on the Apple out of warranty replacement program.

Yes it can. NO idea how it'll work in India but I believe APple's policies are world wide. Replacement costs start at $249 and goes up depending on the model. What you're really paying for is a reduced cost to replace your broken one with a refurbished one.
I'd look for authorized repair shops in your area (the 'contact us' link on the lower right of this page goes to a page with phone numbers and links to world wide authorized repair places) and go from there.
Non-authorized ones will be cheaper but if you use one of those you will void any remainder of your factory warranty.

When you plug the new one into iTunes to set it up, you'll be asked if you want to set it up as a new iPad or restore from the backup of the old one. make that choice and you should be good to go. You'll need to input passwords and set the internet back up and such, but most of it will be there.

The options I've considered:

     buy new iphone 4 $549 8GB

2. USED
     buy used iPhone 4 online
     *anywhere from $275-500 locally in Chicago
3. CLAIM
     Make claim under Home insurance(deductible applies $500)
4. Cancel contract woth current carrier and subsequently buy new iPhone4s with either VZ or Sprint
      *Early term applies plus cost of new phone(and loss of unlimited data)Estimate at $484

I have the exact same problem my iPod touch 4th generation fell a foot and hit the wood floor literally a foot to 2 feet maximum and the screen shattered.Like not even a big crack but like tiny little cracks and pieces of glass coming off.
