Can a finished material be a component in BOM of some other material.

Hi,
In process industry, there are scenarios where FERT material from one plant is being used as a component of the other FERT material.
For eg.
Scenario is there is one compay manufacturing Vitamin A, plants located in this org are A1, A2.
Plant A1: Fert is Hydroxenine
Plant A2: Fert is Vitamin A
For plant A1, FERT is Hydroxeine, but this same material is
used as a component in plant A2.
This is the actual process scenario used in process industry, as mentined by shiva setting for this is maintained in SAP. Thanks Shiva for this update.

Can not find material when allocating component

Hello all,
After finishing maintaining routing, I want to allocate component to respective operations.
But when I click "CompAlloc",select a vlid BOM. Then I can not find any components.
And I also check the bom of this production.The bom exists.
Could you please help me analyse this case ?

In fact, I just want to allocate component in costing routing (routing usage :BC, status: 3) by using costing bom.
So I have created two kinds of routing in task list. When I select the costing routing and click "CompAlloc",
system prompt following:
BOM Usgae              BOM             AltBOM              Alternative Text
        1                    XXXXXXX             1
        6                    XXXXXXX             1
I think I should select Bom usage 6 because I want to allocate component in costing routing.
But I can not find any components.
And I also check case in the bom. In bom usage 1, all items are Production Relevant and CostingRelevncy .
In bom usage 6, all items are CostingRelevncy.
BTW, the bom selection method in MRP4 is 3
Can you please analyse this case and solve it?

Serial number status of semi finished material.

Hi Gurus,
I have a serialized finished product.
I have a serialized semi finished material as a component of that finished product.
After issuing the semifinished to the production order of the finished product, the serial number status of the semifinished item becomes AVL.
I dont want the semifinished serial number to be reused once it is issued to a production order and the finished material from that production order is delivered .
Help me in acheiving this.

You should maintain a User Status Profile for the Serial Number Profile, (Through Equipment Category).
Once the Semi finished Material with a particular Serial Number is Issued for a production order. The status should change to Say " Used". Then this Serial Number cannot be assigned again to a new Semifinished Goods.
User Status profile should be defined in transaction BS02.

Change of component in Finished Material

Hi,
My client is a machine industry having both MTS and MTO scenarios.
For example letu2019s consider a material u201CAu201D which is manufactured with 12345 components and u201CAu201D is a finished material. My customer directly sells this to customer which will be MTS scenario.
But sometimes customer will ask the material u201CAu201D with modifications like he needs 12356 i.e. in place of u201C4u201D component he needs u201C6u201D.
So please suggest a better process to map the same in SAP SD

In this case also you can follow the same procedure,sales order will be created by the customer requirement and then moved to the production,here if the material all ready produced then they will change the parts as per the order requirement,if not they will produce as per the requirement.
With my knowledge i am giving you the suggestion,please correct me if i am wrong.

Serial Number Error in YMFBF confirmation for semi-finished material.

Dear Experts,
We are having repetitive manufacturing scenario,while confirming the Semi-finished material ( X) in YMFBF Screen, after POST with Correction and Saving the Confirmation. Error Applied....
"Only the 0 serial numbers entered instead of 1.
Message no. IO304
Diagnosis
There is a serial number obligation, so the number of serial numbers must equal the number of serial numbers in the material document.
You can post the operation only if you entered the correct number of serial numbers previously.
System Response
Depending on the context in which the error arises, the system continues processing, or the required function cannot be performed.
Procedure
You have the following options, for example:
Check that the serial numbers are entered fully.
If necessary, display an error log.
If necessary, contact your system administrator.
Please give some solution for this,

Extrusion Sales price based on multiple parameters of the Finished Material

Hi Gurus,
Scenario: Extrusion Industry- Finished Material price to be calculated, based on the following parameters:
1. Basic Price of the Finished Material
2. Alloy Market Price
3. Temper Price
4. Type of Finish based Price
5. Length ordered based price
A. Customer wants the Sale Price of the Finished Material to be sum of 12345.
B. Customer wants to Change the Basic price for few Customers.
C. Customer wants to Change the Sale Price of the Finished Material based on the Market fluctuations with respect to the Alloy used in the production of the Finished Material.
How to address, this type of Scenario ? Those who have come across similar scenarios in Extrusion Industry can share their experiences ?
Do we need to go with Variant Pricing ? If so, do we need to go with KMAT or FERT ?

You need to 'reverse engineer' them :
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Auto allocation or finished material against sales order for MTO

Dear All
By which T-code can we allocate the finish item in sales order from stock in unrestricted use.
We follow MTO strategy for our finish material
What is the best practise for such scenario.

Hi Vikram,
When you are fallowing MTO process there is no need of seperate transaction to allocate the finished products to the sales order.
In MTO scenerio automatically the stock will be assigned to that perticuler sales order we you do goods reciept after production.

Finished material forecast

Hi Gurus,
Can anybody please clarify my confusion. Our business wants to forecast to the finished material, saying how many will need to be produced in a given time frame. based on this the system will kick the reuqirements down to the level of raw material. Now in MM02 on the forecasting view there is foreacast values button, do we maintain here the forecast values of the finished material that we anticipate to build, Or is it in MD61 - planning table where we maintain the sales forecast. The whole objective of the sales forecast is to make the purchasing dept ready with teh materials that are procured externally to be able to meet the forecast of the finished material. Please help

Hi Anusha,
It will be better to use MD61 rather than MM02 & Forecast button.
In both cases you can plan Raw Materials using the BOM and the MRP (PP)
If you want to populate the values Manually the MD61 is the transacction
If you want the system to Forecast the values use MM02 + Forecasting.
If you use MD61 that will generate the Planned Independant Requirements (PIR) that will generate the "Issue" of the Finished Goods. You will have to associate the Strategy Group (If you do not know about this start with strategy 40) in MRP 4 view.
Once you have your PIR available for the material MD04 you can run the MRP. Depending on the strategy and some other factors the PIR will disappear as soon as you start createing sales orders for the material.

Price control indicator for finished material

Any one can please clarify on this..
Can we maintain price control indicator for Finished Product V as well as S
Out of the above two either one may be statistical. Considering S as a statistical I need to update price which is having control as S by releasing the std.cost estimate. Is there is any configuration for this.
Please help on this.

Generally we maintain Finished material at Standard price . In turn system will update also moving average price for the same material . so both can be achieved by maintaining standard price in material master.

Price control "V" for Finished Material

Hi,
In implementation project i have created ZFIN for finished material type.And given Price control "S". But as per client reqirement i have to change that " S" into "V".
Is there any effect for those material which already have been valuated with price control "S"? Can i proceed?

generally the valuation is kept S for finished goods
as the price is updated from production and not from sales, so u cant keep the MAP as the production cost varies as per the change in cost of raw material
i think u should tell this to ur client
either if u want to change the price control from S to V
You can make this change at any time. The moving average price (which until now has been updated for informational purposes only) replaces the standard price and is used for valuation from now on.

Finished material scrap transfer into scap material code

Dear Experts,
I want to transfer my scarp qnty stock of finished materia code ABC base unit EA stock into selling scarp material code XYZ base unit KG by mb1b 309 movemnt type but i get error Stok Differnce unit EA and KG
.Then in this case which scenario i used to transfer my finshed scrap ABC stock into scarp material code XYZ.
PLEASE GUIDE ME how i map this scenarion
Example-
production order ABC - 10 EA ,
After confermation 8 qnty OK
2 EA Qnty is scrap
Now i transfer this 2 EA stock into this scrap material code XYZ KG but due to difference in base unit it not transfer in mb1b by movement type 309.

Scrap in the production order is resultant of raw materials used.
Why is that you are getting finished material as scrap. In this case this scrap is from production or from storage?
Let us know the process you are following and what are the materials you are using for the purpose of production.
In general, when scrap is reported in production...it should be treated as a By product and its qty should be received from production.
Or You can upload this scrap qty using MI10 (this is like physical inventory but wihtout any doc. reference).
So as and when, scrap qty is accumualted....upate the stock qty using MI10.

Production for semi finished material

Dear gurus,
i had a scenario where semi finished material is combination of different batches,for production of semi finished material i had 6 operations in which up to 3rd operation i have 3 production lines in which each batch in the line is identified by different batch no and in 4th operation all batches are mixed and if new batch is coming into 4th operation the material which is already in 4th operation enters 5th&6th operation continously for semi finished material and enters remaining operations for finished material production .semifinished material is not stored in any place it is continously flow from 6th operation which is semi finished material to another operation which is used for producing finished material.
suppose for week i require 100 m3 of finished material , and for each batch i can produce 2 m3 in each production line ,i require 50 batches for week .the production is continous .
can i follow by creating 50 production orders each of different batch ,by creating semi finished material in 4th operation , can any one please suggest .

Checking Control (OPJJ) has no relation with MRP.It is useful in the case of Plan and Production / Process Order only to find out Missing part.
Now come to MRP again.
You have a choice of only 3 type of stocks to include or exclude them during MRP run while rest of the things like (PO,PR,Reservation etc are consider by default)
Go to OPPQ and after selecting Plant go to Available Stock.You will find that options,
- Stock in Transfer
- Block Stock
- Restricted Stock.
And one more thing Reservation is not a available stock but its one kind requirement and if there is no stock then system will activate the Planning file entry and during next MRP run it will generate Planning proposal also.
