Can a host help me?

Question

I am very new to apple and the apple discussion board but with that being stated, I am feeling my way around and I enjoy reading and replying to the apple discussion boards. Today I posted a question that may or may not have been apple related but because I purchased a macbook recently, I thought I would attempt to ask the question on the discussion board and I was met with sarcasm. I know there are users who are more advanced than others but it does not give anyone the right to be sarcastic or to belittle those who aren't as advanced or familiar with how the discussion boards work. I have also clicked on this person's profile and I have read some of their other comments and this person is quite condescending towards those who I would have to assume they feel is beneath them with regards to apple products.
The only reason I've taken time out of my day and have decided to bother you lovely moderators is because I don't want to be attacked whenever I post something. Regardless of how someone else may feel about my post, I have a right to ask a question and get a resolution.
Thank you for any assistance that may be provided. Except for this small fraction, I love Apple and my macbook.

Not to defend the poster (that I think you are referring to) but just wanted to add that sometimes in the forums there are users/posters that post in a style that is "short". By that I mean their "style" of posting can be interpreted as being sarcastic or somewhat rude if read the wrong way.
Not sure I am explaining that well for you but just wanted to let you know that you should always take discussion forums with a "grain of salt" so to speak. The printed word is a strange thing sometimes. One persons style of writing is not another's cup of tea.
When I first began posting here in the forums I remember being very offended by a couple of long time posters not realizing that they were posting in a style that was just very short and to the point. They just were not very versed in social etiquette nor cared to be but rather just shot off quick responses to someone's topic, I think, not realizing how it might "read" to the original poster.
I had always been somewhat thin skinned about such things but soon learned to just let it go.....and found that in the end it didn't make much difference to the big picture. The vast majority of users here bend over backwards to be kind and polite so I think the contrast can make those few users posting in a short matter of fact style seem rude or condescending in contrast.
Please don't think I am defending the user you refer too here. And remember there are those that post to "bait" a user into an argument or flame so it is always best to report the offense here in the Feedback forum for consideration by a moderator rather than to reply in the topic to the offender and give them further opportunity to be rude.
hope you continue to participate and not be "put off" by that sort of thing....it is really a part of all public forums as you can imagine. I think these forums do a very good job of keeping it to a minimum though.
