Can a HP B210 AIO printer be connected to 2 different wireless networks at the same time?

I live in a household that has 2 different wireless networks in it (both me and my roommate have our own networks) and we just bought a new B210 series AIO printer.  The printer detects both of our networks but only will print from one network at a time. If I want to print from my network I have to manually go to the wireless network wizard on the printer and select my network and re-enter my password. Is there any way that I can set up the printer to acknowledge both networks without having to constantly switch back and forth?

  • Problems connecting 2 computers to wireless network at the same time

Switched to Mac 2 weeks ago and will never go back!!!!!
Having a slight problem with my home wireless network.. I am running Leopard 10.5.1 and my wife has Vista... For some reason we cannot connect to our wireless network unless one of the other computers is on and connected.. Example: I just opened my Macbook and it showed that I was connected.. However, I could not get any access to the internet without first turning my wifes computer on and connecting.. The same happens when my wife tries to get online.. Her laptop will not connect unless mine is connected first.. It is rather strange.. The last one on the internet is the only one with access unless the other computer is connected.. I am not sure if this is a problem with the router or a compatibility issue with Microsoft and Apple.. If anyone could help it would be highly appreciated as it is quite frustrating that when I want to connect to our network I must connect my wifes computer first.. and vice versa for her.. Can anyone help? We use a Belkin wireless router...

For $50 or so you could get a Linksys WRT54G and not have the headaches. It cannot be an issue with the computers so by default it is the router. Get a better one.
A router will be indifferent to a computer connecting unless it is set to reject them with mac filtering, the password is wrong or there is a limit set to only issue one IP address in which case both would not work. The router cannot know XP from OSX, or a mac from Windows as the standard is 802.11 and TCP/Ip not brand specific.

  • Can I connect my Mac to two separate wireless networks at the same time?

Need some assistance with some advanced wireless networking please....
Upstairs I have a D-link wireless router connected to the internet and wired to a couple of PCs. Downstairs I have a minimac linked to my hifi via an airport express. I have bought a D-Link DWL-G122 usb wifi dongle.
So I want the mini mac to connect to the airport express on one wireless network (strong signal) and to be able to connect to the internet on another network (weak signal) via the usb wifi /router.
But the airport software and the d-link driver seem to conflict and both try to take control of the two wireless devices.
Is there any way round this to be able to run one mac with two wireless network devices at the same time?
    Thanks

While those with more experience may be able to correct me, I'm pretty sure that you can only connect to one wireless network at a time with your Mac Mini, unless D-Link provides their own proprietary software that bypasses the computer's Airport settings.
Using the AirPort hardware you can only connect to a single wireless network at any given time. However in this situation the 2 attempted connections are via USB and AirPort. Therefore this requires nothing special of the AirPort drivers or settings.
It does require that the Mac OS and applications have the capability to use either network connection (USB or AirPort) depending on what data they are trying to get. In general I understand how it is theoretically possible but I have no idea if you can configure OS X to do it.
...I believe one of the options when setting up the Airport Extreme Base Station is that you can extend a wireless network already in place.
True but the D-Link is not compatible with Apple's WDS therefore this is not possible in this situation.
If you have a newer Airport Extreme Base Station with a USB port on it...
FYI, every AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) has a USB port.
BTW, birky has indicated that he/she is using an AirPort Express (AX) not an AEBS.

  • Can I extend both a 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz wireless network at the same time with a second Timecapsule / Extreme ?

Can I extend both a 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz wireless network coming from a Timecapsule  with a second Timecapsule / Extreme at the same time?

I am currently extending my 5Ghz network via an Express without any problems, but the Express can only extend either / or. I just want full coverage for both networks in the whole house.
If you can extend 5 GHz now with an AirPort Express and get satisfactory results, then the AirPort Extreme will work to extend both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands in the same location.
However, your computer is going to connect to the band with the strongest signal, so it may....or may not....connect to 5 GHz given a choice of two signals.

  • WRT110 Can't connect MAC and PC to wireless network at the same time.

I installed a WRT110 router on my son-in-law's MAC sometime back and at the time configured it to have the MAC connected via Ethernet.  My PC laptop worked fine with it in the wireless mode.  Recently we changed the MAC to wireless newtworking and removed the Ehthernet connection.  Now if the MAC connects to the wireless network first and then I attempt to connect with my PC laptop the PC cannot find the network and the MAC loses connection.  If I shut my PC down the MAC will not find the network until it is put to sleep and reawakened.  If the MAC is put to sleep my PC wil immediately find the network. If I first connect my PC and then awaken the MAC both work fine.  I've checked all of the router's setup settings and they seem to be OK.  I am not MAC savvy and my son-in-law is a neophyte at computers so we are really helpless when something doesn't work.  Help will be appreciated.

I tried this setup change after reading another similar post.  It didn't help.  One thing I had wrong in the first post is that neither computer will connect to the wireless net after we experience the wireless failures until both are turned off, at least that is what happened after making the suggested changes.  Is this a WRT110 issue?  Seems there are quite a few posts similar to mine.

  • Can I run 2 wireless networks on the same single internet connection?

I wanted to be able to use only my WRT350N to be able to broadcast "N" out into the yard but because it does not broadcast as far as the WRT54G I will have to settle on plan B.
I want to set up two wireless networks using my WRT54G V1 with a WSB24 and my new WRT350N wireless routers.
    My last working setup was:
WRT350N with two 1Gb connections to my desktop computers in ports 1 & 2, my link to the WRT54G in port 3 and my HP printer in port 4. The address was changed to 192.168.1.50 and an encryption key used to secure the connection the N network to my laptop.
WRT54G with only the WSB24 connected to provide an unsecured 802.11g wireless connection. We live in the country and I am not worried about unauthorized access to this.
I have found that I can not make a stable wireless connection from the WRT350N past 50 ft. in the house and can not get a connection from this router out of the house. (hence the reuse of the WRT54G)
    Still following?
My older router (WRT54G V1 and WSB24) allowed me to roam our yard out to about 175ft from the antennas with the 3945 Intel wireless adapter that is in my Gateway laptop. When I purchased the WUSB300N adapter for the "N" connection, I am able to get a 17% "G" signal in one of the outer buildings at about 200 ft from the WRT54G and not stable connection from the WRT350N past 50ft.
I was able to run the WRT54G as a gateway after changing its address to 192.168.1.51 and leaving the WRT350N at 192.168.1.50 before I updated the WRT350N to v1.03.6 last night and turned it into a brick.
That is talked about in a different thread.
This setup allowed me to connect to the internet outside of the house with the laptop.
Is there a better way to set this up?
    Thanks for your help.

If I understand your request correctly it sounds like you want to create a VLAN, two different logical networks on the same physical network. If that's the case however, it would seem that neither the WRT54G nor the WRT350N supports VLAN, at least not without flashing the firmware on one or both of the devices. If you do choose to pursue flashing the firmware with third-party firmware that supports VLAN you might want to look into DD-WRT, HyperWRT, or some other firmware. Keep in mind flashing with third-party firmware voids your warranty with Linksys.

  • Can I be connected to two networks at the same time?

    Hi there
I have an imac desktop with 10.5.8 running. I have a wireless network with my timecapsule and a printer connected to it. We have two mac computers in the house
that print wirelessly via this network. I also have the internet coming in via a wireless modem/wifi which both computers use to go online. The trouble is everytime I want to print from either computer I have to change back and forth from the internet/network to the timecapsule/printer network. This is really fumbly and I wind up having to restart all the time because the printer gets locked up. It's just a big hassle. Is there any way I can be on both of these networks at the same time or is there some other way I can configure this?
    Thanks!

Is there any way I can be on both of these networks at the same time or is there some other way I can configure this?
Yes, you can reconfigure the Time Capsule (TC) to "Join a wireless network." In this case the wireless network would be the one created by the other wireless Internet router. In this configuration, the TC can still share its internal (and external) hard drive and a printer attached to the USB port. However, note that this would disable the TC as a router and an Ethernet switch so basically it will perform as a wireless client.

  • Can my iPhone4 use be connected to WiFi and still be connected to the 3G network at the same time?

My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'.
My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something. When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.
If this is incorrect I need to know.
    Can someone help?

Keep in mind that the reporting of data usage is not real time for any carrier.  The time stamps of when data is used are essentially meaningless.
That being said, the device is always connected to the cellular data network unless the user actually turns off cell data.  It is designed to use Wi-Fi when available as that is typically the faster network.
When the device is in sleep mode, it will use cellular data as the Wi-Fi antenna is turned off to save battery life.  The only way the Wi-Fi stays on in sleep mode is if an app is actively using data over that connection, like Pandora or similar apps streaming audio.

I am using several Macs running Yosemite. I was recently “upgraded” to Xfinity’s new cable modem which can support both 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz networks at the same time. Actually I can connect to the internet over both with a satisfactory bump in speed for the Ghz. However when I connect to the 5Ghz the Time capsule disappears from the Airport Utility and claims to be Not Found. Is there something I have done wrong or just a Yosemite Teething Problem

First restart your mac and try again.
    It could be
that the router and the TC are interfering wirelessly with each other.
You can check this by pressing the option key while clicking on the wireless icon on your screen
    Open Wireless Diagnostics
    enter your user password
    Press CMD 4 then Scan
You will see all the wireless channels being used in your location and you can check if they are on the same channel
Make the SSID for the TC simple like MyTC
    Set 5Ghz to auto
    Update the TC
    Try again

  • HT201250 can I connect my gdrive to 2 computers at the same time

can I connect my gdrive to 2 computers at the same time

If you connect via FireWire, USB, eSATA, then trying to connect with 2 or more computers at the same time is the fastest way to corrupt you data on the disk.
You can attach it to one and only one computer at a time and that is OK.
You can attach it to one computer and then use System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing to make the disk available to other computers.

  • Can't connect to Internet and 192.168.1 network at the same time

I have been having an issue with my MacBook's networking for the past 4 months. Here are the specifics:
*My MacBook is connected to the Internet via a linux router, with an address in the 192.168.1.x address space. DNS server is an openDns server, 208.67.222.222
*My MacBook is assigned an IP Address manually in the 192.168.1.x namespace
*I have a printer manually assigned an address in the 192.168.1.x namespace
    Problem:
    * I can only connect to my printer if I leave my DNS server entry blank under my Airport TCP/IP configuration
    * I can only connect to the Internet when my DNS server entry to set to the openDNS server entry.
    Question:
Is there any way I can connect to both my local network printer and the Internet at the same time? I have set up two locations that I can switch between, but I would prefer to be able to access both networks at once.

I tried turning AppleTalk on, but no luck.
It seems that the problem is related to basic TCP/IP connectivity. For example, when my DNS server is set to blank, I get a fine response from the command "ping 192.168.1.253". However, when my DNS is set to one of the openDNS servers, I get this error:
    PING 192.168.1.253 (192.168.1.253): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: No route to host
    ping: sendto: Host is down

  • How can I connect to Oracle and SQL server at the same time?

I have been trying to find a way to connect to Oracle Database through the developer 2000 and SQL server at the same time. I need to return some data from Oracle Database and some from the Sql Server Database. And update both through SQL. I find there is such a thing as the Oracle Transparent Gateway for SQL server. I can't find it on any of my CD's or through OTN downloadable files. If anyone can point me where to get this. Or tell of another way this can be accomplished I would appreciate it. TIA.

As far as I know you have 3 options depending on your specifications. I don't think option #3 will work if you need to actually join a
SQL Server table to an Oracle table.
    1. Oracle Transparent Gateway. I haven't used the Oracle Transparent Gateway but my understanding is that Oracle gateways are
separate purchased products from Oracle. I've never seen any free/development versions of it anywhere. You'll need to contact
your Oracle sales rep about it.
    2. Heterogeneous Connectivity. There's something called Heterogeneous Connectivity that could work for you - depends on what
version of Oracle you're on and what OS. You basically set up an ODBC data source on the Oracle server and modify the listener.ora
and tnsnames.ora files. You can then create a database link to SQL Server just like you would to any other Oracle database. You can
check your Oracle documentation for how this works. There's also some very good documents on Metalink that tell you how to do this
as well as a Heterogeneous Connectivity forum on this site.
    3. Use the exec_sql package available in Developer 2000. This allows you to open and execute cursors to remote databases within
Developer. We have an account validation process that uses this - when a person enters an account number in a form while logged
into Oracle it validates the account is valid in our main accounting DB2 database. We also pull HR information from DB2 into Oracle
this way. If you're using Forms 6i exec_sql is a built-in command, in Forms 5.0 and 5.5 you have to add it as an attached library to
the form. I think you also need the OCA options installed from the Developer software to have access to the library in Forms 5.0 and
5.5. The library will be in the $ORACLE_HOME\oca20\plsqllib directory for these versions. The Developer documentation should have
    additional information.

Most likely, no. How do you propose that you would connect this drive to both devices simultaneously? Via a USB hub?
