Can a lookout 4.0 application run on an XP machine

Will a Lookout 4.0 application run on an XP machine? We supplied a machine with a computer running NT and a Lookout application developed in 4.0. They have asked for a “plug and play” spare. I can easily get an XP industrial computer but what will need to be done to get the application to run on an XP machine.

Do you want to run the lookout application in Lookout 4.0 software on XP machine?
Officially, lookout 4.0 doesn't support XP. When it was developed, there was no XP, and we didn't modified anything in 4.0 for XP compatibility. But I have Lookout 4.0 installed on my XP computer. I don't see big problem when using it.
If you run Lookout 4.0 software on XP, maybe you will meet problem in dual core. But you'd better try it first, and then let's see what we can do on any problem.
But if you run 4.0 application in lookout 6.x software on XP, there is no problem.

How can I debug a web application running on Weblogic 10.3

Hello,
I have inherited a NetUI Web Application developed using Weblogic Workshop and I can't manage to debug it. I have configure my server in Workshop and to debug it I right-click the project in Project Exporer and select Debug As -> Debug On Server, but this isn't working. The browser does open the application doesn't appear to be getting delpoyed.
Can anyone help me out? I am using Weblogic 10.3 and Java 1.6.

The application is an enterprise application packaged as an EAR. if I right click on the project and click Debug As -> Debug on Server, the application appears in the Server Tab, but it does not start automatically. If I then manually start the server the application runs, but it does not stop at break points and I can not debug it.
If I right-click on the web project that is packaged as part of the ear and select Debug As -> Debug On Server again the application is deployed, but I can't debug it. I don't get error messages, the application functions as normal but it does not stop at break points. When I attempt to debug the application via the Web Project, two browsers open automatically, both correctly displaying the application.

Dear developers,
I have an application that insert or update Data to an SQL server every 2, 3 hours.
I can’t use the SQL server itself (creating a new job). Instead I defined a timer which executes the code every 3 hours.
The application runs in the server - a winform application.
And this is the problem, when I logoff the application is being closed…
Is there a way to keep the application running? (same as Jobs)

Uri's solution may work for you.
The proper approach though is a SQL Server Agent job. It resides on SS, it gives you nice history.

I had jsp application, I deployed into Oracle Application Server 10g, when I test http://myhost.mydomain:7781/myapp then it is ok.
Could you show me the way to config myapp run via default port 80 in Oracle As 10g. It is that if I input http://myhost.mydomain/ then it refrence to my jsp aplication.

check the $OracleAs_Midtier_Home/install/portlist.ini file for the ports that are configured for Oracle Application Server.
If port 80 wasn't configured for the HTTP Listener then you will have to change the Application Server listener settings to make this work the way you want it.
From the "Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator's Guide 10g (9.0.4) "
Using the Application Server Control:
Navigate to the Application Server home page and click Ports.
On the Ports Page, locate the Oracle HTTP Server Listen port and click the icon in the Configure column.
On the Server Properties Page, in the Listening Addresses and Ports section, enter the new port number in the Listening Port column. There may be more than one listening port listed. The only way to tell which is the non-SSL listening port is to choose the one with the old non-SSL listening port value.
At the bottom of the page, click Apply.
On the Confirmation Page, click No, you would not like to restart now.
Using Manual Steps:
Edit the following file:
ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf
Update the Listen directive with the new port number. Do not update the Port directive.
There may be multiple Listen directives in this file. Modify the Listen directive that is not enclosed in an SSL virtual host container. The easiest way to locate the proper Listen directive is to search the file for the old listen port number.
Save and close the file.
Run the following command:
dcmctl updateConfig -ct ohs

Can 2 separate Planning Servers be running on the same machine?

We are trying to setup Hyperion DEV and SIT environments into the same AIX server. We have
Shared Services
Essbase
EAS
APS
Financial Reporting
Planning
Oracle Application Server 10g
Oracle 10g DB
We use 2 separate user accounts and different HYPERION_HOME and ORACLE_HOME.
Everything seems fine except the Business Rule. When trying to pick the Planning locations, it's always pointing to the first instance of the Planning server.
I think it is related to the RMI registry service which is used to establish a communication between Planning, Essbase and HBR/EAS.
I am also running 2 RMI registry services on two different port. However, how can we tell the Planning, HBR/EAS to use which one for communication.
Any idea?

I found that the table HEAS.HBRPLUGINDATA contains the correct Planning RMI Port. It seems that EAS is talking with the correct RMI and Essbase Server.
I can submit business rule in Planning. However, I still can't submit business rule in EAS. Any idea?

At some point a while ago I somehow mistakenly must have clicked on something in error and suddenly my Google Analytics programme (which is shown in by bookmarks at the top of the screen) was displayed in a section of the browser window to the left - the browser screen was split into two sections, with the google analytics program running in the left section and the right section was my regular browser window where everything ran as normal.
I have no idea how this happened, but love it and have come to really appreciate it. However I've just changed computers, operating systems and allsorts and now I've got everything back on track that window has sadly gone and I cannot find how to get it back. I've searched through every option I can find and cannot figure out how to do that again!
Can anyone help please? :-)

Thank you for your reply, sorry for the VERY late late response, but I have just figured out how to control this separate 'panel'. I find it really useful for monitoring Google Analytics in as it can just sit there running. It does have its limitations, as it's a limited size (you can't expand it to full screen view), so you can only ever see a vertical section of a website and need to scroll to look to the right or left, but I have the live view of people accessing my website running on there and if the numbers start racking up at any time, I can scroll to look and see what pages they are accessing, where they've been referred from, etc.
To get it to work, you save a website address in the Bookmarks Toolbar and when you can see it sitting on the toolbar at the top of the screen with its little icon, right click on it then click 'properties', then tick the box 'Load this bookmark in the sidebar'. The next time you click on this bookmark to open the website, it will load in this sidebar, which looks like a separate 'window' but is immovable. You can only have one sidebar application running at a time, but can change it by right clicking on the bookmark you want to load in there and it will then change to that one next time you click on that bookmark.
I hope this might be useful to others, as I asked for help with this on loads of forums and not one person knew that this existed - even really skilled techies!

Lookout 5.1 Application Error

I have a Lookout 5.1 application running under Windows XP Pro that has been running for over a year and all of the sudden we are getting Lookout application errors in GDI32.dll. We have not changed anything in the system and it is not connected to a network so it cannot update itself. The error happens at 11:59PM which is when it is setup to print the alarm logs and a screenshot of the main process screen. It will keep getting this error nightly unless the computer is rebooted and then it seems to go 2 to 3 weeks before we get the error again. I have scanned the drive for any issues and everything checks ok. I have run memory test and they come back ok also. I have also run a virus scan even though there is no network connection in case someone inserted a disk that may have been infected and it also came back ok. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as this application runs a citys fresh water system and having it crash causes alot of issues. I have attached a PDF file with the error.

The GDI32.dll is a windows component for graphics.
I guess the crash happend when lookout tried to call GDI32.dll to get the panel screen.
I'm not sure what's wrong. An idea is to update the Logos. You can get the Logos 4.5.1 from http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/501/lang/en

SSO to partner application running under IIS

Hi,
We have a complete set-up for 9iAS Release2 where some applications are running. In parallell we have an application running under IIS, and would now like to enable the IIS application as a partner application to 9iAS letting the 9iAS SSO server handle the authentication.
In the documentation of Oracle Proxy Plug-in I read that this proxy plug-in can be used to proxy requests from IIS to Oracle http server (OHS) and also in this way enable SSO.
My question is if this can be done only for applications running under 9iAS but having IIS as web server, or if it is also possible like in our case to enable SSO via the proxy plug-in to applications runnind under IIS?
If this is not supported is the only available solution to use the SSO SDK in my IIS application?

See Metalink Note 269820.1 which shows you how to use Perl to overwrite the host name in the HTTP header and remove the port number.

Assigning different IPs to applications running on same machine

I am working on case which needs 10 different threads of a client program with each thread having its own IP address. The problem is that these threads have to run on the same machine and they communicate to a common server (on a different machine) using the TCP/IP Sockets.Is there anyway thru which I can assign unique IP addresses to each of my client thread even through all of them happen to run on the same machine?

All my client threads connect to the server using
Socket sock = new Socket(ipAddr, portNum);
They are already binding themselves to different and unique ports on the client machine. All of them talk to the same server application running on a different machine. The server should identify the client threads by looking at their ip addresses. Now my question was, is there a way through which I can assign different IP addresses to my client threads ?

I know that, at present, JavaFX works with most standards implemented in the United States, Europe and other countries. However, in most South American countries are beginning to adopt the ISDB-T standard, the standard Japanese-brazilian. Furthermore, this standard proposes new ideas as the development of applications on the middleware Ginga-NCL and Ginga-J (Java). These middleware are based on Java. My question centers on that if I can develop normally JavaFX TV applications running without any problems on this digital TV standard. If someone could answer my question, I would appreciate a lot.

thank you for the help. I should have said I had a iphone 3. A friend has the same phone and she showed me how she can see what web pages are open when she double taps the home button. Mine is set to bring up favourites when I double tap (chosen from settings>general>home button).. BUT my choices are only HOME; SEARCH; PHONE FAVORITES; CAMERA or IPOD. I changed my choice to HOME but that just defeats the purpose as when I am at the home page and double tap nothing happens. Am I making sense?

Now these may be things that people have already discussed in the forum, so
you'll have to pardon me if you already know this.
You CAN use the database on the server and put the application on the client
computer. PSE prevents multiple accesses to the same database so that will
avoid any conflict issues, however you would still need to contact Adobe
about licencing. Further with PSE 4.0 out now... you are looking at another
application.
I'll see what Picassa can do, but I would NOT hold my breath... and while it
is a handy little app, for me it is FAR too limited for anything more than a
quick search and some very basic tools.
I'll see what I can do in the next 20 minutes or so and get back to you.
