Can a LOV popup search be made case sensitive?

Can a LOV popup based on a SQL table query be made case sensitive. By default it looks like it is case insensitive by the text on the popup.

I think you might need to look at doing some customization to your custom managed properties , you can manipulate the values within the managed properties by mapping them to single values  check custom content processing

Yes: set instance parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON to FALSE ( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17110/initparams220.htm#I1010299).

  • How can I copy media from an HFS case-sensitive drive to an HFS case-insensitive drive without getting an error?

About a year ago, I accidentally created a partition on my drive for my iTunes Music. On that parition, called MUSIC, I selected the filesystem to be an HFS, Journaled, case-sensitive partition. Since then, all of my music, new and old, lives on the case-sensitive MUSIC parition.
My other partition, called BOX, is an HFS, Journaled, case-insensitive filesystem, as are my external drives I use for archiving and backing up my music.
My dilemma: when I try to copy my music/iTunes media from the MUSIC partition to a different partition that's case-insensitive, I obviously run into errors saying that certain files can't be copied because they will overwrite others. Subsequently, I can't back up my music and iTunes media to another drive unless it has the same filesystem parameters favoring case-sensitivity. I want to move my media to a case-insenstive drive/partition.
As the story goes, I'd like to avoid having to reformat and worry about moving my media around because I feel, in the end, I'd end up doing more harm then good in my pursuit to fix this issue.
My question: is there some way I can detect which files are conflicting with each other, and then manually rename them? My music library runs about 16,000 songs deep, but I'd still feel saved even if I had to go through and manually rename all of the music files so they don't conflict with each other in order to get them on to a case-insensitive drive. Perhaps there's an AppleScript someone knows about that I could execute in my MUSIC partition to see which files/directories are causing my problems? In other words, I'm thinking there could be a way to detect the same file/directory names that are only different soley because of their case.
Any help, suggestions, or solutions are welcome. Thank you all for your time in helping me solve this!
    And have a Happy Thanksgiving

  • Search help is case sensitive

    Hi,
I have created one z-'elementary search help' with selection method as a z-view.
    View consist of following tables:
    COMM_PRODUCT
    COMM_PRSHTEXT
    COMM_PRPRDCATR
    COMM_CATEGORYT.
I have attached this elementary help search to 'COM_PR_COLLECTION' collective search help which we used for searching products.
The search help we have created shows the result which is 'case sensitive'.
If I search for 'Product Description' = 'button' I get
the output with all products with only small letter 'button' which is not required.
I must get the all product with description 'button' and 'Button'.
I haven't attached any of 'Search help exit' for elementary search help.
    Please help.

  • Search User Page - Case Sensitivity Problem

    Hi,
While searching users according to the criterias like user's firstname or lastname, the search is case sensitive.
Is there a way to make incase sensitive search?
    Thanks.

I would say a no for it because at the back-end the findUsers() API is getting called for which the value is a String Object. So its always case insensitive according to me.

  • SomeJavaClass class can store in somejavaclass.java file? case sensitive?

I have project in which class names don't coincide with file names absolutely. Difference is in case sensitivity, like Test1 class stores in test1.java file. Is it possible? Maybe it is possible in some OS? How to build the project?

Do yourself a favour and do the right thing. Get the filenames correct. Why look for trouble?

  • Can we write select query regardless of case sensitivity?

    Hello Everyone,
I have written one function module. And in this FM i am using one import parameter which has Data element and domain as type. In that i have checked Upper/Lower case checkbox, to retain case of the data in table. But when firing query to database i have to supply same case as it is stored in table.
so, can i ignore the case of the parameter in select query and can i fire the query regardless of the case of the where conition??
    Thanks in Advance,
    Bhavik

    Hi Bhavik,
You can do this without adding a column to the table.
Just Fetch all the data in one internal table then loop that table inside that loop check whether that field contains that string or not. For this you use CP operator, that checks for string irrespective of the case. This can perform wild serach also. The following code may help you,
        SELECT * FROM /cpd/d_mp_hdr_s INTO TABLE it_mast_hdr_desc1.
        LOOP AT it_mast_hdr_desc1 INTO wa_mast_hdr_desc.
          IF wa_mast_hdr_desc-text CP lv_mp_text.
            APPEND wa_mast_hdr_desc TO it_mast_hdr_desc.
            CLEAR wa_mast_hdr_desc.
          ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
Here both the internal table and the work area are of type /cpd/d_mp_hdr_s.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Can Search help in Web Portal be made so that it is NOT case sensitive?

We have a number of reports that users access via the web portal.  Most of these reports have a variable selection screen that appears so that users can pre-filter the report before executing it.  When the user selects search help on any of the variables and attempts to search the text values, the search is case-sensitive. But we have some data stored all caps and some data stored mixed case, so this isn't very convenient for the user.  I would like to be able to set up the search window so that the searches are not case sensitive.  Is there a global setting that can accomplish this, or can the search page be customized?  Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have the same issue. There was a fix in 3.5 using function module RSA_CHA_BUILD_QUERY however this doesn't exist in 7.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

  • Case-sensitive search for equipments

    Hello gurus,
when looking for certain equipments using F4 (program RIEQUI20), I can search for all equipments of a certain manufacturer (field HERST).
Unfortunatelly this search is always case-sensitive, i.e when I enter "BOSCH", equipments with manufacturer "Bosch" are not found and vice versa.
Is there any way to change this behaviour?
    Thanks in advance
    Alicia

    Alicia,
Oops ..Sorry about that. I had misread it. You will not be able to accomplish the same in standard enhancement. You could remove the case sensitive check box on the HERST data element. But that would be considered A modification. That might however do the trick and save all the new contents in CAPS.The search help will then pick everything.(You may have to go into change mode on existing records and re save them for this change to be updated in DB )
However you could achieve the same, without modification and with a little bit of custom development.
What you could do is, create a Custom elementary search help(SE11) with the standard fields HERST(Input) and EQUNR(Output) fields .Create and Attach a  custom Search help exit to the same by copying F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE. In here modify the STEP SELECT to append a translated (Upper and lower case) selection condition to the query or a appropriate wild card search. Then select the same from EQUI.This should pull all your records. After testing this out , append this search help to the standard collective search help EQUI.
    Hope this helps.

  • Setting case sensitivity for text searches

I am trying to figure out how to set case sensitivity for text searches for Oracle. I am using 8.1.7 and the documentation keeps referring me to the Basic_Lexer object. Does setting the mixed_case parameter to 'No' remove case sensitivity for the index or is there something else I need to do?

Do you recommend another field type that can be used that does not use case sensitivity?
    Thank you

  • Forms Editors -- Case sensitive search

I need help regarding forms editors. i am having an user defined editor in my form. when editor is opened it has ok , cancel and search buttons(which is used to search for a particular text). right now this search button is case sensitive. is there any way to make it case insensitive.

it depends on how the search button was coded.
I used to have search button form containing a text item and search button( and other buttons), then in the search button, user typed in entry was put inside the UPPER() or LOWER() when constructing the where clause for execute_query.
so you may look into that button to see if you can do similar thing.

  • Installation of Photoshop CS6 (Extended) on Case-Sensitive Drives

I understand that under the "system requirements" the Adobe website says that you can't install PS CS6 (Extended) on case-sensitive drives (I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X v. 10.7.4).  This seems to have been the case at least since CS5.
I didn't see this, and I bought (quite excitedly) the update from CS PS5 (Extended) to PS6.  I had NO PROBLEM installing PS5 on this drive.
Of course, as other users have indicated, the installer refuses to let you install on a case-sensitive drive (e.g., no options to install on another disk).  There is also no mention that CS6 must be installed on the boot drive.
Requiring installation on the boot drive has serious implications for those of us who require case-sensitive drives for other work; I don't want to have to reboot from another drive when I use PS, and switch back and forth -- that's simply foolish.
From my point of view (as a user, granted), this is lazy programming, and this needs to be fixed ASAP.  At least in my case, I have a $400 lump of software just taking up space, when I want to be up to my eyeballs enjoying PS6 in all it's glory.
Outside an Adobe fix, I don't see a solution to this problem.  If I wipe my drive, format it as not case-sensitive, then I lose functionality for other critical work.  Further, I'm not sure that the process of  wiping the drive, formating it as non case-sensitive, and restoring everything from TimeMachine would even work (since the backup material is coming from a case-senstive drive and trying to go to a drive that is not case-sensitive).
The REALLY frustrating part is that I've installed Photoshop 3, 4, and 5 (and from much, much further back) on case-sensitive disks -- all with no problems.  It's only now that the issue smacks me in the face.
There's got to be a work-around, if not a "real" solution.
Whatever help you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated; details can be sent to cdretk at gmail dot com.
I have hope, and I thank you in advance.

Whether it is Apple or Adobe's work flow isn't the issue.  Between the two
of them, if they are going to support both naming variants, then at both
    Adobe and Apple:
    1.  You MUST use the same case file names.  (E.g. FrameWorks and not
Frameworks) EVERY time.  And refer to them in your programs and
configuration files the same way EVERY time.
    2.  You may NOT in your development code use different but case invariant
    file names for different files.
    3.  Your libraries must do the Right Thing.
What gets me is that few others seem to have this problem.  Perhaps Adobe
needs to abandon Apple development software, and roll their own outside the
    standard system libaries.
Further searching shows that it is not a problem unique to Adobe.  The
games BeJeweled, and BZFlag have this issue, as does the Steam game support
    systems.
In every case I've run down to date, it has been a violation of #1.
Now there are workarounds:  A script that creates appropriate symlinks on
case sensitive file systems would be fairly easy.   It would impose some
    minor amount of extra overhead.
I bought a copy of Adobe Creative Suite.  I returned it unopened.  You lost
a sale.  Furthermore, until it is fixed, I will mention this at every
opportuity as an exampled of a combination of sloppy workmanship, and
customer indifference on the part of Adobe.
Tell your bosses, Chris, they need to fix this.
    Respectfully,
    Sherwood of Sherwood's Forests

I just discovered the crash logs... Can anyone give me a clue to what is cause the bus error from this?

  • Case-sensitive passwords in 11g

    Hello,
This is a rather silly post, but I've been Googling and can't find whether SQL Developer supports case-sensitive login or not. I've read that some other clients always send an "uppercase" password (no matter how you typed it) which causes problems with Oracle 11g. Is SQL-Developer "compatible" with the new 11g case-sensitive policy?
    Thank you.

Yes SQL Developer is definitely compatible with 11g case insensitive password.
