Late night I heard quite a commotion in the master bedroom and when I investigated found my wife with my MacBook above her head aiming at the fireplace. She was cursing and saying that it was possessed by the devil. After calming the situation down I asked what was the cause. She said she was watching a movie on Netflix instant and the **** thing kept flashing off (on the plasma) during the important scenes. She swears that it was randomly only in the most significant parts on purpose. (eg....possessed)
I am thinking of selling the MacBook on EBAY to save my marriage. Gees...

Explain to her, the ability to run Netflix on the MacBook is still beta. Beta, while never officially declared an acronym literally means one that I've made up:
Buggy Everyday Test Application.
Don't forget it is supported by Microsoft's Silverlight. And you know how Microsoft loves to mess around with betas.

How much RAM can my Macbook Pro hold MAX?

Can my Macbook Pro hold a MAX of 8GB or is it just 4GB? I'm getting different answers online and I'm a little annoyed at this point. My computer specs currently are:
15 inch Laptop
MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
Got my computer in 2009.
At Crucial.com it says it can hold up to 8GB when I select my computer processor speed from their list, but I noticed it saying DDR3 (and I don't know what that means to be honest). Here's the link:

To the best of my knowledge I selected the correct computer, which I own, from their list.
Under "About This Mac", on my computer, it says DDR2 for the memory, on Crucial.com it says DDR3. As a result I'm confused and will that cause problems?
I'll be getting my RAM kit from Crucial.com, so do I buy the 4BG kit, because that's all my laptop can handle, or is it OK to get the 8GB kit, which says DDR3?
I do a lot of video and audio, so I would like to get my RAM up to 8 GB if it will.

So these two would add up to 6GB total. Now the ONLY DIFFERENCE that I see is the 2GB stick is PC2-5300(667Mhz)speed and the 4GB stick is PC2-6400(800Mhz)speed. I understand that my machine won't run at the 800Mhz speed that the PC2-6400 stick is designed for, cause my machine says 667 under the memory info. From what I read online, it's ok to put a higher Mhz stick in there, it will just cap at 667Mhz speed? But.......both sticks are DDR2, which is right for my computer, but will the 667 MHz with a 800 Mhz be a huge no-no to run together? At this point I think that is my main concern! If I can't do this, than I think I'll have to go with the 2x2GB kit for 4GB total, but I REALLY would like to run 6GB.

Can my macbook upgrade to Yosemite?

Just received my used macbook pro I bought for $162 off Ebay and so far it's a great system for that price as it was needed cause my macbook crashed on me during a install of original disc. Anyways to the question I have regarding can my macbook pro upgrade to Yosemite? I already know it's saying I cannot when I try, but it might just be because of my 1GB of RAM so need to upgrade to 2GB of ram. Which leads to the question how exactly do I find the exact RAM required in this system when I don't even know what year model the system is. When I enter the serial number with apple all it say's is this (OBS,MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo). It's got Version 10.6.8. Ebay information say's it's a 2006, but I didn't even realize there was macbook pro's that old. Then I looked it up and it said January 10, 2006 release date. So that makes my macbook pro pretty old. Is it enough for what I will use it for? I like to play around with Imovie and using pages and keynote. I don't do any gaming stuff. I also do a lot of online researching so like to be able to run many windows without it getting sluggish.
Should I maybe try and sell this macbook pro at the amount to get my money back and get a model that can easily upgrade to Yosemite? I really want Yosemite since it comes with Iwork programs that I need and I guess something that can upgrade to at least 4GB as this machine not sure it can.

Oh and the processor is a DDR2 and not a DDR3 which I imagine shouldn't be an issue for Yosemite upgrade. Could it just be the processor 1GB that needs to be upgraded?

Macbook causes Linksys wireless router to crash

My daughters Macbook causes the Linksys wireless router to crash. I've already loaded the latest Linksys firmware but it did not help. It's the only computer that causes the router to crash. I have used several other non-Apple systems on the network without any problems.
I think it's something that the Macbook is transmitting out but haven't pinpointed what it is and how to fix it.
Any ideas on how to get her Macbook to work on our network wirelessly?

What you are asking is if the Linksys can broadcast a wireless signal to the AirPort Extreme and then have the AirPort Extreme connect to the G4 using ethernet.
The short answer is "no". For more details, please read on.
This is not possible because the ethernet ports are not active on the AirPort Extreme in this type of configuration. The ethernet ports on the AirPort Extreme would only be active if the device were configured to "extend a wireless network".
But, the AirPort Extreme can only "extend a wireless network" from another Apple device as it is not compatible with the products of other manufacturers for this purpose.

Yes for both, but you likely won't be pleased with the performance of Intel Core 2 Duo's on Lion, I have one myself and just gave up and went back to Snow Leopard, and that was a MacBook Pro!
I also had of the many tens of thousands with the screen blinking issue that Lion causes, Apple won't fix it even though it came under the 4 year "we will take care of it" clause for this model.
Lion is slower than Snow Leopard and won't run your 10.5 based software at all, but Snow Leopard will using Rosetta.
I'd advise getting Lion with a new Mac, not upgrading anything prior Early 2011, just way too many issues.
Lion likes 4GB of RAM for starters, and prefers quad cores, it's slow on 2GB, so your already spending money to get it to work, not to mention all new software on a old machine, hard drive etc.
Snow Leopard is the fastest OS X version Apple has made, it's only $29 upgrade.
Lion is a radical UI change, it will turn your world upside down and likely make you unhappy, since you haven't even upgraded to 10.6, so that tells me your a person not happy with change.
Snow Leopard will give you a speed bonus, add some candy, and nearly all your present software will work, not upset you to much.
When that machine dies, THEN get a new Lion machine is my advice, ease yourself into the new radical OS X method, that way Apple has worked all the bugs out of Lion by then.

"If it fits" will be the limiting factor. The largest capacity that I know of that will fit is 1.5 TB.
OWC sold this 1 TB 12.5 mm WD hard disk a while ago that allegedly fit your MacBook4,1 so it stands to reason you won't be limited to a 9.5 mm dimension. The only 2 TB drives that I know of are 15 mm thick and will definitely not fit your MacBook. If and when you can find a 2 TB HDD in the required form factor it will work.
