Can a macbook pro retina display be replaced or fixed?
Much to my horror, my 13 macbook pro retina has suffered a minor but noticable scratch to the display. I'm wondering if anybody knows if this can be repaired or possible can the glass be replaced eventually? Thanks in advance!
The screen can definitely be replaced but it will be extremely costly. Going quotes are about $1200 to replace the retina screens. You can check online to see if some small shops can do it for less, but in either case it will be the cost of a new Macbook Pro.

As for calibration, this is useless for my machine I have tried to adjust the color.May be I will try after I get my second replacement. Like u said every apple staff are trying to convince us this yellow screen is normal, if it was why the devices sold in store are not yellow ? They service mananger even told me that those sell in store now are the first batch of manufacturing and they are actually with defects but this yellow one are the second batch with improvement and it is better than the white on

I am planning to replace my 3+ year old MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Pro, Retina display... I have been told by "chat" on the Apple site that I can transfer my data wirelessly... on my network.. Is is a good option? I don't want to invest in cables if I can help it... since the old machine has firewire and the new one has thunderbolt! Can the flash storage hard drives in the brand new Macbook Pro Retina Display laptops that were just released a few days ago (10.22.13) be upgraded/replaced in the future? I will need more than the basic 256GB for sample libraries using music software, among other things, but currently larger flash drives from Apple are too expensive. I ask because I'm in the process of buying one of the new 15inch Macbook Pro Retina Display laptops right now (or at least right after I get an answer to this question).
I saw in the Mac store when I started looking at the build options for ordering the Macbook Pro that under Memory it said the memory was built into the computer and therefore could not ever be replaced or upgraded in the future. So I was wondering if something similiar might be the case with the flash storage drives even though the same wasn't written under the hard drive options? If these flash drives can be replaced in the future then I would just purchase the starting 256GB drive and suffer through using connected external hard drives, as unwieldy as that would be, until there were potential replacement flash drives with larger storage capacties available on the market or through Apple for more reasonable prices. But if the hard drives in these laptops can't be replaced/upgraded I would go for the 500GB drive option (even though paying an additional $300, before taxes, for just 244GBs more storage space is absolutely outrageous no matter how great flash drives are with their read/write speeds, no moving parts to break, and lighter weight/thinner builds allowing for an overall thinner laptop). I would even go for the larger 1TB option, which is really what I need, except that costs an additional $700 which is more than enough to buy me a new 50inch, HD, flatscreen TV from a reputable brand if I were so inclined! (And yes, I understand the youth of the technology, current limits to flash drive capacities, and the reason for the high prices. I know I'm not getting bilked...)
So yeah, does anybody have an answer to this question? Can the flash hard drives in the new Macbook Pro Retina Display laptops, just released, be upgraded/replaced in the future? Any answers are greatly appreciated and will save me some much needed cash on my purchase of one of these laptops! And I should also ask, if so, can they be replaced by the laptop owner with the normal toolset through the normal, easily done methods of hard drive replacement in laptops that has been common, or would I have to bring the laptop to a Apple technician?

macsales.com has been working on providing aftermarket modules for the older models that were on the SATA Bus.
These newer ones are likley directly on the PCIe Bus. That will take some time to develop. -

There is no such thing. In CS6 only PS itself is Retina compatible. You would have to use CC for full Retina support.

Can I use Final Cut Studio 2 on the latest macbook pro retina display?
I'm planning on buying the 15" macbook pro retina display and was given Final cut studio 2 from a friend as he woudn`t use it.

The latest version, FCP-X...costs $299. There is no upgrade cost. But once you buy it, every single update after that is free...given the history of past updates. Note...it's very different from FCP 6. Completely different app. -
Macbook Pro retina display 13 inch 2014 model stopped charging. Charger LED also not on while plugged in. The battery fully drained off so the system can not be started but the system can detect the charger when earlier it was switched on before draining off the charge. Charger type magsafe 60W.
Once you have examined the power inlet on the computer for dirt, and made certain that the pins on the end of the MagSafe cord are free to move in and out to make contact, there is very little you can do yourself.
You will need to visit your Apple Store (FREE with appointment) or your Apple-Authorized Service Provider (policy varies). They work on these all the time and have good expertise and lots of spare parts to try to determine the problem. -

It's difficult to get one at a shop or Apple Online Store because build-to-order Macs aren't available at them unless they are very popular.
The only option you have is to call Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and see if you can order a MacBook Pro with a Portuguese keyboard. In case you can, this will take days because it has to be ordered and delivered to the USAFD -

Well there are two or three causes of eyestrain with displays different people seem to have.
1: Small type/UI elements
2: Glossy screens
3: Flicker rate

The higher pixel rate combined with the display set at the higher resolution is going to cause UI and type to be smaller and harder to see. In fact it's advised to set OS X to a lower resolouton so it upscales better to match the pixel of the higher display.
Reports coming in say watching HD 1920 x 1080 trailers on the anti-glare 17" is best as the pixel content matches the display almost fullscreen, where on the MBP-R it's upscaled and thus looks blurry.
HD content makers are NOT going to change all their video cameras to support 2880 x 1800 full screen, so in order to get a clearer image playing HD 1080 content, one will have to do so in a smaller window.

The new MBP-R dispalys are 75% less glossy, but not 100% less glossy like the anti-glare models so this can still cause some people problems. This can be lowered to under 1%, however I'm suspecting to do so would be considered giving up a military advantage to China where Apple gets it products made.
