Can a new page/window be "zoomed in" automatically, text and photos?

when opening a new Safari window, the default mode will do. however, if i click the "Zoom in" button (not text only--the entire page), whatever page i am currently opening is MUCH more balanced---i.e.--perfect font size, no text overlapping the photos, no text disappearing into thin air, a widening of the page so there's no inch of white space in the left and right margins......
no matter how i try to recreate that with standard font sizes, or "never use fonts smaller than", it just never works out right. i cannot seem to duplicate what i just get from hitting the darn zoom in button one time. i would have no problem doing that in the beginning as i surf and continuing on from there, but i am a HEAVY tab user (very often 10-30 tabs open at once), so that scenario doesn't work for me. i basically need a script or terminal command to have the pages open with one zoom in click already done for me.
btw, this is currently being done on my MacBook, 1280x800, Monaco standard font size 20, no fonts smaller than 12. but the same scenario would work on my iMac (i don't have it's specs right now).
any ideas on how i could try to accomplish something like this? or muck with the display/font sizes to replicate this? i've tried for years.......never really thought to post it.

I haven't tried the extension, tho saw what seemed to be little/no instructions (hey, it's free & fairly nichey)
I guess it's using javascript to inject a style into the page, based on domain matches; so presumably a case (for your purposes) of two or more styles being entered in the extension & matching one to ebay.* & & certain others, while having another that fits everything else - or perhaps relying on the main user css for that & zooming sub 100% on the target sites.
I hope it works out.

Page Text and Photos dissapear when I Publish

Here is a new problem I am encountering and wondering if there is anyone who knows how to resolve this. I have one certain page on my website that when I publish it to the desktop, and open it, the page header is there, but all the text and photos are gone. I'm using the "black" theme and I believe I used the welcome template. The page consists of a text box and photos, using the media place holders. The text is just white arial font, like on all my other pages. Since this is a page full of people writing in to the website, the correspondence from each person is separated by a graphic line. I have used the graphic line on other pages to separate want ads and on those pages, I am not having a publishing problem. I have already recreated this page from scratch once. It published fine a few times then one day all the text and pictures have disappeared again. Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong? I've tried deleting the cashe and we've tried "repair permissions - disk utilities."

Posting more info on this problem:
I did a test and think I have found a clue on what is going on. I carefully recreated the original page from scratch first with text only. I published it to make sure the text would publish. Then I added the photos back to the page using the image placeholders. I then published again and both text and photos are still there. Next, I duplicated the page, called it Mail Page #2, and noticed as soon as the page was duplicated, the section with text and photos now has a "text Imaging Indicator" on it in that section. the original page does not have that indicator. When I published the site again and this page now is publishing blank (all black, text and photos missing; only the header remains and that actually is a text w/shadow, so its an image). The original page where the imaging indicator did not turn on, that page is still publishing normally. So this has something to do with iWeb converting that section that has text and pictures, into an image. Other than that, I am still at a loss as to why it happens or how to avoid it. If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. I will post back if I have additional info.

Why does Firefox get hung up, when opening new pages? I've tried disabling plugins and extensions to no avail.

Initially, when I open Firefox everything opens very quickly. However, after several minutes it gets hung up when opening new pages. I have close the browser and reopen it to start over. But each time it does the same thing. Works well at first then poops out. The trouble started yesterday. Before then, I never had any problems.
I've tried disabling all the plugins and extensions, but it doesn't make any difference.

Firefox page images do not display only text and links

New desktop (not this one) with windows 8.1 Pro, Firefox 29, Norton Internet security. When I go to many of the Firefox pages images do not display, only text and links. This is true for the "get add-ons" page. I can search for add-ons, but when I try to install one, the installation fails. Is there a security setting in windows or NIS that is blocking Firefox images and installations? The Firefox installation went smoothly without error. Other sites do not have this problem.

Wow! I never would have thought of that! My time settings were incorrect when I set up the PC, and I thought I set them. I did have the day, date, and time set correctly. But I did not have AM/PM set right. So, I was off by 12 hours. I corrected it and, voila, all works well.
I'm so happy now, because I can now get all the security extensions I've grown to love:

You mean while creating a book in iPhoto? Click on the layout button while viewing a page and select the layout that includes both text and photos. Most themes will have those options.

How can I set that pop-ups open in a new tab insted of new page/window?

I'm a regular Firefox user. Since I updated to Firefox 4, all pop-ups open in a new window insted of a new tab. Altough I set in the settings that new pages should open in new tabs, all pop-ups show up in new resized windows with the new firefox.

You can use JavaScript for this. For example:

I don't know what you mean by "add a new tab". If you're talking about adding new website sections (ie. folders) through the contributor interface to dynamically build the navigation, then the only way is to use the "site studio manager" fragment (w/out using Designer, of course). And then make sure your contributors can create and assign content to a region once they're in contributor mode.

Problem with resizing the new Pages window

I can't get my Pages Window any smaller, it says (if I use Window Tidy for example) that the window size was restricted.
With the old Pages I used to have two Pages-windows open right next to each other, so I coul work on two documents at the same time. Now that i can't resize them anymore (only making them bigger is possible) they don't fit on the screen anymore.
Anyone having the same problem, maybe even a solution?

Dump Pages 5 and go back to Pages '09, then give proper feedback on either Apple's website or the App Store.
The App Store is probably the best place as it is public and a bad review has more impact than private entreaties to Apple.

Mail "New Message" window retreats to background after drag and drop attachment from Finder to Mail "New Message", click, and Finder window stays in foreground even when not in focus

Hi, I'm surprised I can't quickly find if anyone else is having this issue. For me it has been going on since Lion on my 13" MacBook Pro 2011 and it's still persisting in Mavericks, and even still now that I've "downgraded" to a 15" MacBook Pro 2010 with Mavericks. The behavior is odd and difficult to explain concisely. Basically, when I want to add an attachment to Mail, I'll Cmd+Tab over to Finder click and drag and Cmd+Tab back to Mail, and drop the attachment. At first it looks fine, but when I click in the New Message window where I just dropped the attachment, to move the cursor, it retreats to the background and the Mail Main Window comes to the foreground. Then, if I click on that, the Finder window that I just used comes to the foreground. Sometimes if I switched to another app before going to Finder to select the drag and drop, that other app window will appear in the foreground instead. If I click on the other app window that is now in the foreground, then the Finder window that was last used will come to the foreground. The only thing that seems to fix this switch-a-roo effect is Cmd+Tab-ing back and forth a few times, or click on the window "frame" at the top to move the window around.
The way to prevent this is to have my Mail Message window visible in the foreground side by side with the Finder window when the drag and drop occurs (this is a tedious extra step if mulitple windows are open, or to use the add attachment command in the menu within Mail. But it sure is annoying buggy behavior.

Yep, I get exactly the same thing when using Thunderbird mail client on my 2011 iMac running Lion. I've been putting up with it for at least a year, maybe longer.
For me it appeared to start after a Thunderbird update, so I figured that was the cause and couldn't find a solution at the time. However I've now noticed it starting to happen in Apple Motion 4 when dragging files from Finder into a DropZone in my animations. Motion remains the active program but the Finder window sits on top until I Cmd-tab out to a third open program (ie not Finder) and back to Motion again.
This is the first indicator I've had that it's an OS X issue.
Be great to find a solution as D&D is by far my preferred way of adding attachments to emails and similar tasks.

When I drop a page into a second document the text and numbers are misaligned. How can I stop this?

I have a master PDF that I am coping pages into from a sub-portion PDF document. When I drop the new page in many characters (text and numbers) are misaligned on the recently added page and some characters have just vanished. I tried converting to PDF/A Mode for one source document and PDF/X Mode for another that seemed to fix the issue.
I'm wondering if there is a better better way, maybe some setting I can change in order to prevent my plain old PDFs from having this character jumbling?

You very likely have fonts embedded in the source file that are not in the new file and that scrambles things. Why not just extract the page from the old document and then do an insert to see if that does the job. Extra work, but it might help identify the problem.

When I click "edit" to manage content on a web page, I see code instead of text and images. How can I fix this?

I edit content on www.fomh.org. Until recently, I could sign in as administrator, click "edit" in the editable area of a web page, and proceed to update text and images. I have been using Firefox to do this for several years. Now when I attempt to do this, I see all the html code in the editable area instead of the text and images.

Can the new iPhone allow landscape/ horizontal keyboarding for text/ email?

One of the things that made me stay with Blackberry was that it was clearly better at typing text and emails. I chose not to buy the original iPhone based on the difficulty of typing text and email in only a portrait/ vertical setting.
Viewing horizontal/ landscape web pages is available - what I would like to know is if horizontal typing for text and email will be a feature?

Set your view to "Print View" and you will see the individual pages. More pages will be added as you drag content away from the existing pages.
Arrange your content as you would like to see it printed. That's it. What you see is what will print.
