Can a pdf be imported to iMovie?

can a pdf be imported to iMovie?

Thank you!
Info:  The screen capture in Preview (File/Take Screensho->From Selection) is much lower resolution than when you "Save As...JPEG".  You have to save every page as a separate JPEG.  If your iMovie is set to apply the Ken Burns Effect to incoming pictures, you'll have to edit the effect to see the whole page.

  • What kind of video formats can i use to import into imovie?

what kind of video formats can i use to import into imovie?

    Hello,
Adobe stopped supporting flash for android since ICS. You may still be able to download the latest (old) flash player "at your own risk" from Adobe archived flash player versions:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
Please read the disclaimer at the end as it is not advised to install unsupported flash versions.
As for video streaming, there are lot of apps for that and it's just a matter of your preference.
    Hope that helps

  • Can I use events imported with iMovie 11 and on exhard drive, in iMovie 6?

I would like to open DV files in iMovie6 which are stored on external hard drive (imported with iMovie 11). How do I do this please? Would there be any loss of quality even if I knew how to do this? I asked this question previously but I was a bit more 'confused' then.

Dear Tom, Thank you, thank you - it's so easy when you know how! I had previously dragged the folder over and it didn't come cleanly. Gosh. ' File' then 'Import '- it's magic really. Ta again.

  • Can a PDF document import JPGs without resampling them?

I created a multi-page graphic portfolio booklet in Photoshop, with each page in its own folder for simple management.
The idea was also to create a lighter PDF version of this thing for online distribution.
Each page contains 95% images. Only a single line of text is present. I was going to save that text as line art (not merge it with the pixels).
Here is my traditional procedure for doing so :
Make the page/folder I want to save visible.
    Save As PDF
Remove Photoshop editing capabilities, downgrade to 150dpi, High JPG Quality (not Maximum)
Do the same for every page in the booklet
Assemble the booklet by inserting pages once inside Acrobat
Now, for whatever reason, the images look like crap. I tried NOT downgrading to 150dpi, and they still look like crap. In fact, nothing short of Maximum JPG Quality + 300dpi (ie, no resolution resampling) will result in nice images.
I can resize to ridiculously low res inside Photoshop itself and it'll still look decent, but asking the PDF converter to do it botches everything.
Since this is a 95% graphical PDF document, I'm willing to do away with the line-art text, and just save all of these pages as JPGs. Flat traditional JPGs look 100 times better than what comes out of the other end of a PDF conversion.
My question is... can I use Acrobat to assemble these JPGs into a single multi-page document WITHOUT resampling them in any way?
In other words, without the PDF converter crapping them up all over again?

...per page, naturally (in case that was unclear).

  • How can i import into imovie using the camera's built in memory?

How can I import into imovie from my cannon video camera built in memory.  All that comes up when I connect the USB cable is what is stored on the memory card and it doesn't give me the option to use what is stored on the built in memory

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
With the new Photo app later this year the integration between IOS and the Mac will be much greater

  • Can't get AVIs in iPhoto imported into iMovie

I have iLife '08. I imported a bunch of pics and AVIs into iPhoto. I'm trying to import the AVI videos into iMovie but I can't drag and drop the AVIs from iPhoto into iMovie like I thought I could. When I try the "Import Movies..." option I use the file dialog window to browse to the the ~/Pictures/ directory but my iPhoto collection is not in there, there is just an icon "iPhoto Library" which just launches iPhoto. I thought they used to be stored under the ~/Library folder somewhere but I can't find them there either. This is so frustrating! This doesn't "just work"!

Only "edit" compatible videos can be "dragged and dropped" to iMovie '08. Even then they can only be dropped to event names in the Event Library list.
When I try the "Import Movies..." option I use the file dialog window to browse to the the ~/Pictures/ directory but my iPhoto collection is not in there, there is just an icon "iPhoto Library" which just launches iPhoto.
The "Import Movies..." option cannot look into "package" files like the "iPhoto Library" which is where your clips are located. Use the iMovie '08 "iPhoto" browser in the Event Library list instead to locate clips that are both available and compatible.
This is so frustrating! This doesn't "just work"!
Try reviewing the on-line tutorials and reading the software documentation and using the "Help" resource. As they say, "when in doubt, read the instructions."

  • Can I import movies originating from video's that were put on a DVD import in IMovie?, Can I import movies originating from video's that were put on a DVD import in IMovie?

Can I import movies originating from video's that were put on a DVD import into IMovie?

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D2187Z/A/quicktime-mpeg-2-playback-component-f or-mac-os-x
(unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3381
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

  • Why can't I import old imovies into idvd?

Why can't I import old imovies into idvd?

I have 68 GB free and the movie is a small one. The iDVD file is on my hard drive and in the dock.
Today I found a work around for this problem.  While I cannot open the original movie, I can access the clips in the media folder.  I put the clips together and made a new movie.   And I can import this to iDVD by going to "share" in the menu and selecting iDVD.

Maybe try one of the WiFi transfer Apps?  There are several to choose from. I use Photosynch quite often to send photos and videos between my computer(s), my iPhone, and iPad.

  • Can not locate iPhoto 9.6 (910.29) files to import into iMovie (10.0.6) on Yosemite (10.10.2)

    Hello,
I am trying to import some photos and movies into iMovie (10.0.6) from iPhoto 9.6 (910.29) but I can't do it. I've searched for solutions but can't figure it out. I can't locate my iPhoto files and it's driving me bonkers! It's probably a very simple solution.
When I use iPhoto I can access all my photos and movies. When I search through Finder I'm unable to locate the files. When I use the "reveal in finder" function in iPhoto it shows the files are only in "iPhoto library" and provides the full file path. When I try to follow the file path and go to Pictures > iPhoto library and click on this it opens iPhoto instead of allowing me to go to the files as in previous versions of OSX.
I can't get to the files through finder, and i can not import them into iMovie (as am trying to follow the same file path).
    Any solutions would be appreciated!
    Thank you.

Either export the photos and movies from iPhoto to a folder on your Desktop and import to iMovie from there,
or use the Media Browser in iMovie:
The "Libraries" panel will show you the iPhoto Library in the sidebar. Import your photos and videos from there. If the "Libraries" sidebar is missing press the keys ⇧⌘1  (Windows > Show Libraries) to reveal it.
This User Tips by Terence Devlin will explain how to use your iPhoto Library from other applications:

  • Can we import to imovie with usb connection rather than firewire??

    Dear Friends,
I am considering purchasing a new movie camera JVC EVERIO GZ-MG50E - PAL system.
Unfortunately it has only a usb connection and not a firewire one.
I have been importing until now into imovie with firewire.
Will I be able to import to imovie with usb?
    Will this require special software?
    Hope you can help.
    Thank you.

    Hi Robert:
Consider not purchasing that camera for imovie use. You will need to convert the MPEG files to DV which imovie uses...kind of a pain actually.
