Can a shared calendar be combined on main calendar?
I am making a departmental calendar for events, meetings, etc. I am the owner of the calendar and have shared it with others in the department. I have the option to check the box and combine the shared calendar with my main calendar, but the recipients of the shared calendar do not have this option. Can the recipients also have the option to check the button to combine the calendars like I do? No one wants to flip through multiple calendars. I have reviewed the settings and cannot figure out where I went wrong. Any suggestions?

Shared Calendars from Outlook?
I use Outlook and have access to a few shared calendars. My own and one of the ones I have access to are available to sync to the iPhone, but another one is not. Any ideas on what differentiating factors would allow some to be recognized and not others?
Can someone break thsi down for me please. We are using small business server 2011 and everyone has a windows pc but me, I have a MBP. in outlook I can opend shared calendars no problem but when I try to us the "delegate" tab in ical's preferences nothing comes up. I cant neither share y calendar or open ones that have been shared with me. The only way aound this at this point is that I have to physically add their accounts on my MBP but I don't want to do this as this can be invading privacy since I can also get their mails. I know I can untick email when i add their accounts but the fact that I still ahve the option to tick it annoys me as I wouldnt want others doing this with my account. Can someone point me in the right direction here.
P.S. One of my colleagues bought a MBP yesterday and his was as simple as plug and play. He can share his calendar and open shared ones with ical but I still cant he his. We are both running lion. I'm starting to think this is more of a server issue with permissions or something, mind you I have basic computer knowledge. -
Here's the deal. I stepped into an administrative position last fall and began building an entire calender schedule for our summer 2014 program. I put a lot of work into building two months, however I have only just realized that the apple ID is for the former person who had my job (she left herself logged in on the mac I am now using). My fault for assuming the apple id and login would be the same as the email account I am responsible for.
I did manage to share one of the calendars I created using her apple ID, so I still have access, however, I'd feel better if I could somehow take this "shared" calendar and keep it as my own using the apple ID for the email account I'm responsible for. In other words, is there a way to take a calendar that was shared with you by someone else and save it under my apple ID as MY primary calendar? I'm paranoid that this former employee will delete said shared calendar and I will have to start from scratch...Before you start see if you can export the calendar to a .ics file via the File ➙ Export menu option. In your own account import the .ics file and that, hopefully, will bring in all the work you've done so far.

Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?
My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
Thank you!I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?

Can two iCal users edit the same published/shared calendar
Can two iCal users (obviously different mobileMe accounts) edit the same published/shared calendar? I want to have a calendar running which we can both edit remotely but for it to be synced so we both know what each other is doing. Maybe I can share it on my iDisk somehow? I have searched but could not find an answer so I am sorry if this has been covered already !
There is now way to do this using standard MobileMe and iCal. What you could is both share your calendars so that both of you can read each other's calendar.
If you want both to have read-write access to a calendar you will need to use third party software or set up a Google calendar where both of you have read-write access to the calendar. -
Can't share, unshare or add members to a shared calendar. What happened
I am the owner of a shared calendar but the option to unshare, share or add new members is no longer there. How do I get it back? I set up a family calendar a few years back and all of my family use it to communicate with the other member. I now need to add a new member but when I go through the procedure to add a person the option is not available. In the calendar edit screen it shows me as the owner of the calendar both on my iPad, iPhone and online using my PC. ONline it shows all of the invitees in a list as it should but there is no option to change sharing status or add a new member. As an experiment I added a new calendar and I can set the sharing status on it and add new members.
What has happened to my ownership status on this calendar and how do I get it back?TheMurf1947,
Not sure if it relevant but I just updated my iPad 4 to IOS 8.1.2 and now I keep getting 'share my location unavailable' when I try and switch the share my location ability off. I dont have the same issue with my Iphone 5 which is running IOS 8.1.1. Seems they may have either introduced another bug.
Its in Privacy --> Location Services --> Share my Location. -
Can I publish an event to more than one shared calendar in iCal?
I have shared calendars (called "home") with my wife & kids and (called "Work") with my secretary at work so that my family can add home events and my secretary can add work things .
I've done this as I don't want my secretary seeing when my kids have an appointment to see the doctor or my kids to see when I have appointments with clients at work etc.
However some things (like when I've booked leave from work) need to be on both calendars.
QUESTION: Can I publish one event (using OS X Yosemite or iOS8.2) to multiple calendars ("home" & "work") in iCal?i generally hate toolbars because it makes the browser look cluttered and hogs memory. but u should ask an expert on this if it possible its not too easy, addons will probably help you, for example if you have the stumbleupon toolbar, there are addons that will create an extra button for you to put anywhare for quick access. this solution probably may not work with other less known addons.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts. There seems no way to turn this off. I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment. There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8. Any ideas?
Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars. Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months. So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6. -

I can't add a entry in a shared calendar on iCal (Mountain Lion) but on iPhone it is ok
My Partner is sharing her business calendar with me. (view and edit)
In the past I was able to add calendar enties on my MacBook, iPhone and iPad. Since a couple of days, I can do this only on the iPhone & iPad but not on the Macbook Pro. (Mountain Lion) I can see the entries, I can change time and so on, but i can't select the shared calendar in the edit window.
Anybody has a clue what is going on?
ThanksSee if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.

IPhone 3G - Can I open a shared calendar on my exchange server?
Active sync on the iPhone works great for contacts, email, my calendar, accepting/declining invitations, etc. I am not sure if it is possible or if I just don't know how to navigate the device to do this; can I open a shared calendar in my organization similar to how I can open someone else's calendar in Outlook on my desktop?
Found on Google's website and the first hit with a Google search for "syncing Google calendar iPhone".

Hi
I can not add a new appointment to a shared calendar in Outlook 2010. I can see the calendar and appointments in it (all appointments are marked as busy, the detail can not be seen. I want it to do this) and I can and a New meeting to the shared calendar
but I can not add just an appointment.
I do not want e-mail being sent to the owner of the shared calendar everytime I add something.
When I view the appointment that im creating in the shared calendar the New appointment button is greyed out but the New meeting button is available.
The permision on the shared calendar for the user is:
Custom
Read = none
Write = create items, create subfolders, edit own
delete = Own
Other = folder visable
Thanks
contributor permission in outlook 2010 calendar does not work, I have given this as permision but issue is the same. We currently connect to an exchange server 2003;Hi Cmrl,
Does it happen when you create an appointment via OWA?
Does it happen when you create an appointment via Outlook 2003?
Do you have any mobile device?
How many users encountered the issue, all users or some user?
At first, I suggest you recreate outlook profile.
At second,

Google Calendar - can't edit or delete shared calendar events
I have several shared calendars on my Google Apps account. I created all calendars and have full sharing and edit rights on each. I'm using webOS 3.0.2 on my Touchpad, and I can see my shared calendars. However, when I use the webOS calendar I do not have the option to edit or delete any events on these shared calendars. This is a pretty frustrating issue. Is there any fix for this besides using Google Calendar in the web browser, which has display issues, to say the least, for me.
Thanks.
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)They are the standard kind. I create the events or my wife does in Google calendar. I can view them and they seemt to sync up just fine, but when I select them in calendar there is neither an option to edit nor delete. I also cannot create new items on these shared calendars from the Touchpad, although they are all visible in the calendar app itself. I'm hoping this gets resolved as this is almost an issue big enough that I may return the touchpad in my 14-day return window.

Info:
Outlook 2013 Pro Plus - Windows 7 64bit - Exchange 2007 Hosted by Rack Space - everything fully patched....
every user in our company on Office 2013 now has the same issue: shared calendars won't populate with the following error: "no connection" when they try to see another user's calendar in scheduling assistant, it just shows those diagonal lines
(like they don't have permission)
Based on "research", reaching out to Rack Space and some desperate Googling, I've tried the following to no avail:
run full repair of Microsoft office 2013 and also reinstalled Office 2013
turn off /on cached exchange mode, turned off /on Work Offline mode
rebuild OST and email profile
start Outlook in safe mode with no add-ins running
check auto discover records and add auto discover server address to local intranet zone in Internet Explorer
modify calendar permissions for both ends of the calendar interaction
check Outlook OWA access, confirmed everything is fine there
anyone have any ideas for me? people in Outlook 2010 have no issues BTW; just Outlook 2013....
thank you so much in advance and please let me know if I can provide more info!Hi,
This issue may be caused by KB 2837643 & KB 2837618, please uninstall the patches, let the users create a new profile to test the result:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If the issue is caused by the patches, please note we have realized this issue and hopefully there will be a fix to this issue soon. We will inform you as soon as there's a fix.
