Can a style control Columns and Column breaks?

Good day,
I am trying something very new and different for me in indesign.
I am creating a catalog, that the text is being input by importing XML. I have created styles for each of the tags coming in from the XML.
but I am currious, Can I tell a style that I would like create a Column. and have my first tag put into the column, then at the next part of the text I have a column break at the start of the text to move it to the next column?
I am just trying to learn how to automate as much of this as possible.

And while you can create an object style that will define the number of columns in a frame (and you can set a fixed width), I'm not sure you can get ID to create new frames when placing XML, but it may be possible (it certainly is with ordinary text files). You have to try, maybe experimenting with Smart Text Reflow.

Your question is not that clear to me...do you want to hide the entire table/column that dont want to show up in the front end then you could do in Presneation Layer in the RPD by going Permissions in the property of that object.
But if you want to hide the column in the report that can be visible in the subject Area: go to column properties -> Column fomat...thereis Hide option.
Can you please elaborate your question...what exactly you are looking for...

Hi,
How to print rows as columns and columns as rows?
Suppose I've the following data
colA colB
X 1
Y 2
Z 3
I want the output to be something like
X Y Z
1 2 3.
Is this possible? Please let me know.

The following assumes that there is only one value of colb for each value of cola, but allows for any number of values of cola. The script below creates the query and results below that, given the test data that you provided.

Can I use control query and Variant?
I tried both but its not working, whats my requirement is in a web template having material, distribution as drop box and I have to create for all countries(Like USA, Canada,China)so what I did , I created a control query as material& distribution and I created variants for countries. After precalculating its not working.

Yes you can use Control Query AND Variant in your Setting. Maybe you did not setup you Web template correctly?

How can we export graphs row and column wise in pdf

In 10g can we dump control file and get SCN info.

I have a question can any one help me on this.
In 9.2.0.5 we could dump the control file and get the SCN using the command :
alter session set events 'immediate trace name CONTROLF level 10';
In 10.1.0.4.0 the output of the dump has changed and we do not get the SCN. or any of the following information :

What are you trying to achieve here? If you just want the current SCN, you can get it using one of these:
SQL> select current_scn from v$database;

I had added Column to Table in webdynpro java UI
but , when I am getting the values for the same from BAPI was displayed but , when I am saving , it is not saving
Is there any difference between GroupedColumn and Column?
The other columns which were there in the table are all Grouped Column for the ItemTable.
Also, when I deployed the code in the j2ee server, when I open my UWL , the columns are displayed in the bottom .. whether it is coming because I have not groupedcolumn?

ROWS to COLUMNS and COLUMNS to ROWS (Earlier Docs/Threads Didn't help)

Hi Guys,
I have gone through the earlier threads and documents on this. But didn't help.
In lots of cases they have used DECODE statement. However, it works if you know the number of columns and rows...what if we are not sure of the number of records? How does it work?
Please direct me to any thread or any other documents.

Windows server 2008 can't access control panel and can't choose "properties" under "my computer"

Hello everyone!
Today after a schedule restart on the night I thought everything was normal with my server. But When i go to "start -> control panel" it show me "empty". And if I try to lunch "change/remove software" via search window in
"start" then nothing happen.
I know also that I can't right click on "computer" and choose "properties" in the start-menu.
Also another problem. I did install Fbackup to make schedule file backups on the night. The software worked well to launch when I had installed it, but after the night, this morning it just crash on launch.
I can also tell that I did add from 4 CPU core to 6 CPU cores.

Have you tried to see if the issue persists when you boot into Safe Mode? Since you it shows blank when accessing Control Panel, please check if the policy setting below has been

Please choose Start – Run - type (gpedit.msc) - click on (Administrative Templates) - (control Panel) -
Prohibit access to Control Panel and Show only specified Control Panel applets. If they were configured, please disable them to see if it could resolve the issue.
