Can a video card work sometimes, but not always?

I'm really confused. After talking with AppleCare, I believe we've determined that my video card is failing. I would frequently get a black screen and would not be able to remove it, regardless of restarts, PRAM resets, everything you name it. Just wouldn't work. Then, all of the sudden, it will work. It's the weirdest thing.
Is this common for video cards? Can they be broken, but yet sometimes work? Or does it sound like there could be another issue with the mac pro?

Yes, the X1900 can do many mysterious video things. I have one of the originals and now it is out of warrantie and does many things, the screen goes black randomly, but comes back in a second or two. It will sometimes randomly flash black 3 or 4 times and then not do it for days. (It's doing it now! Still flashing, goin' die on me?) I use a second monitor sometimes and the X1900 randomly remembers the second monitor and resets the main monitor to have the same screen settings when the second monitor is not present. The second monitor has never been the main, so there is no logic there. I bought an aftermarket fan and put that on as that little blower that came with it is useless. The card probably overheated many times before finally showing the effects after warrentee period. Now that I know about the problem it is so touchy. It probably only has a few months before it fails outright. It overheats unless I keep my fan running at 1500rpm+ using SMC fan control.

Occasionally Firefox 3.6.12 won't display photos on certain sites. Reloading works sometime but not alwasys.

At times on auction some sites such as ebay, (and others), photos won't display. If I press the reload button there's a chance the photo will display. If reload doesn't work the first time, pressing it 3 or 4 times may work but not always. Closing the site then re-opening works sometimes but not always. Annoying.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Apple's AirPrint only support specific models while using wired or wireless network connection.
Plugging a printer into a USB port of Apple base is not supported for AirPrint:
AirPrint printers connected to the USB port of the Apple AirPort Base Station or Time Capsules are not supported with AirPrint.
As well you must use AirPrint enabled printers for a such, none of your printers are AirPrint enabled:

When you start Messages fro the first time you are asked for an Apple ID
When this is verified and entered it appears in Messages Menu > Preference > Accounts and is Enabled.
The App should have also picked on on those iChat Accounst you had before.
These should be Enabled if they were when you last used iChat.
Exactly which "Accounts" are logged in can be seen in Message Menu > Accounts and will include the iMessage "Account" and Bonjour.
In the Window menu you will see CMD +0 for the Messages window and CMD+1 for the "Buddies" window which is a combined list at this stage.
Go to the Preferences > General Section and Untick the "Collect all accounts into one list".
This will give you separate iChat type Buddy lists.
You can check if that account/Buddy list is set to Invisible or if in the Preferences > Accounts > Security you have settings that will block some people from seeing you as On line.
You are saying Buddies can see you as On Line which implies they are still sending to your AIM based Names (@Mac.com is a valid AIM Screen Name)
I am not sure from your post if you are trying to iMessage their email IDs thinking they are Apple IDs and that they are using Messages as well.
There is no Buddy list for iMessages side
No-one can tell you are "On Line" until they have your details in the "To" spot in Messages with the correct iMessaged contact info (iPhone Number or Apple ID)
Obviously an Apple ID can be an email or look like one.
In some cases they are also valid AIM Screen Names as well.
In the case or the @mac.com name you may have linked this Apple ID to iMessages as well.

Does this only open on that specific site?
In any case, you may want to:
- instruct Firefox to handle PDF files in a specific way by going into Tools > Options > Applications and selecting the option you want for the PDF files
- reinstall Adobe Reader and its Firefox plugin
- install another reader instead of Adobe Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ ), since it's free, VERY light, VERY fast, safe and also has a Firefox plugin (make sure you don't have both Adobe Reader plugin and Foxit Reader plugin enabled/installed at the same time in Firefox)

HT4245 sometimes but not always the send button is not activated when sending an imessage through face time on my ipad

Sometimes when sending or replying to a message through face time my send button does not work. If I close the app and reopen it the send button has worked but not always. This is very speratic.

You’re having problems with the computer not booting sometimes.
Do a hard reset.
Power off the computer.
Remove the power cable and the battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed.
This should reset the hardware in the computer.
Next test all the hardware in the system.
As you power it back on tap the F2 key. This will load hardware diagnostics.
Run the startup test.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!

Flash file works sometimes, but not others

work for a non-profit, and I am not an uber flash programmer, but I
have come this far, and would appreciate any helps diagnosing the

On my computer, this works fine, both on the authoring end
and the server end. On some others, reportedly, they can view some
of the gallery slideshows, but not others. The reports have been
random, so there is no consistency with which shows work and which
do not.
The flash file is the same exact file for each of the
galleries. Each gallery has its own folder on the server. In this
folder, there is a flash file(same exact file in all galleries) an
XML file specific to that gallery, and an images folder. The XML
file gives the flash file the location and respective caption for
each image that is located in the images folder. With all the flash
files named exactly the same in each folder, with exactly the same
code, how does it not work on only some machines??
Any light, anything at this point would be extremely
helpful..

The people that report problems are only reporting them for
one, two, or sometimes just three out of the 9 galleries.
Therefore, since it is exactly the same flash file used in all 9,
why would some choose not to work. And even worse, why are the ones
that do not work varied across each person?

Since this is isolated to a single file, try exporting it to Interchange Format (.inx), then open and save the resulting file as a new InDesign file.
Since the problem occurs during export, that may not be possible. Another option to try would be to copy all elements, page by page, and "paste in place" into a new document the same size. If you used layers, be sure to enable "paste remembers layers" in the layers panel menu.
This kind of problem is often indicative of an underlying font issue. You said there are only three fonts, and you should verify that in Type > Find Font... Try replacing, at least temporarily the fonts in use with something else that you know to be reliable from other documents. You might want to do this before the other steps.

Disconnecting Internet and X1 DVR , modem resets sometimes but not always

Well This has been going on for 6 months,I get disconnected 20 - 30 times a night, kicked out of dungeons in WOW, facebook games seem to disconnect right at the bonus rounds, my X1 DVR is stuck on what ever channel you happen to be watching, cant change the channel on the TV or access the TV Guide untill the internet comes back up. DVR just says problem communicating with DVR, So im stuck no internet or tv for 10- 15 seconds unless it's a big spike and Modem really resets all but 1 light goes out on the modem and it takes 3 - 4 min for the Modem to completly roboot on it's own and come back online. big spikes only happen about 5-7 time sa day, small quick disconects 20- 30 times a day Either way this sux and I REALLY HATE CALLING XFINITY AND SIT ON THE PHONE FOR 30 - 40 - 50 MIN. JUST TO TELL THEM MY INTERNET WAS OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS. Their have been many tech's here inside, then sent network crew outside,no one can seem to find the problem, and of course, when the tech is here, the Online games are fine, internet never craps out untill 10 min after they leave.. Looking at other post with signal rates, i guess mine look with in limits. Can anyone help or point me to the right post befor I go back to DSL ? Thanks. Your best bet is to call into Comcast and get a TECH onsite to fix your signal issues.

Opening a new file in photoshopcc and the file name is displayed but no white working canvas. you can see it as a layer in the layers panel and if i draw on the grey area i can see int on the layer but not on the main screen.

make sure it's not being connected to by any of the other two
one can only connect 1 device at the time and just by waking up sometimes a headset connects to a device
automaticly
then forget the bluetooth device in OS X and put the headset in pairing mode / discovery mode and connect with it once again with the mac
