Can a Xserve help me?
Inside my home we (not me, employees) do video editing with FCP. We tape high school football games and practices and create highlight DVD as well as individual DVDs for recruiting. We also film and edit various shows for the Dallas Cowboys like Inside The Huddle.
Right now we use 3 G5s and are in the market to upgrade. A huge limitation is the ability to render, encode, upload to web, and continue to work at the same time. We'll typically save of the processor intensive stuff until night and start it all since we won't be needing to use the computers.
Before I invest hours of research into an Xserve I want to make sure I am at least on the right track. I am hoping to be able to use two computers (new Macs) for editing and an Xserve to do all the processor intensive stuff.
I'm thinking that when each is finished with one project they can send it to Qmaster/Compressor for final rendering and encoding and possible web uploading.
So I understand this endeavor will require much research, I want to make sure I am at least on the right path.

Mr Hoffman is completely correct with his reply, there is no simple answer as it depends a lot on your existing set up and output. If you can give us some more input we might be able to help you out a bit more. Think about the type of video that you are encoding, SD/HD and the largest project size you've hit so far. If it's only ever going to be streamed, if it's going onto DVD/Blu-Ray or if it's for broadcast will make a massive difference to what setup you should look at and the infrastructure behind it.
BTW with Final Cut Server you could build some nice workflows to render your finished videos even into various formats or sizes. Keep assets available to users, say a nicely rendered video logo that you use before each sequence. Have multiple people edit the same footage at the same time and do offline editing which might be useful to you if you need to do any editing on the move.

That said if time is only a factor in the editing stage and rendering can be still be done over night and currently finishes on your G5's at a time that fits your schedule. You could swap the G5's for Mac Pro's and reuse them to render your videos to save some more money.

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Hello ,
I purchased my IPHONE about 2 months ago. I am visiting family in DE & this tuesday it starting to go off & on by itself. Then the icons looked like they were floating . Then I could not call or text . The SIRI device would not work. Then it would shut down then the apple icon would reappear. I took it to a verizon dealer in Rehoboth DE & they said it BUGGED OUT/It is in a RESTORE MODE. It will not turn on. We could not transfer anny of my pics or contacts. I never even had a chance to back up the memory on ITUNES.
The tech @ Verizon said to contact APPLE to trouble shoot and try and transfer the contacts from my yahoo acct.

Ginaset up your yahoo account in mail, contacts, calendars as an Exchange Account and you should be able to get your contacts from Yahoo from there.

Just select Print in Safari and then, in the bottom left-hand corner, select PDF and you can save it to whichever flavor pdf file you like.

Can someone pls help me with this code
The method createScreen() creates the first screen wherein the user makes a selection if he wants all the data ,in a range or single data.The problem comes in when the user makes a selection of single.that then displays the singleScreen() method.Then the user has to input a key data like date or invoice no on the basis of which all the information for that set of data is selected.Now if the user inputs a wrong key that does not exist for the first time the program says invalid entry of data,after u click ok on the option pane it prompts him to enter the data again.But since then whenever the user inputs wrong data the program says wrong data but after displaying the singlescreen again does not wait for input from the user it again flashes the option pane with the invalid entry message.and this goes on doubling everytime the user inputs wrong data.the second wrong entry of data flashes the error message twice,the third wrong entry flashes the option pane message 4 times and so on.What actually happens is it does not wait at the singlescreen() for user to input data ,it straight goes into displaying the JOptionPane message for wrong data entry so we have to click the optiion pane twice,four times and so on.

I had a similar problem with a message dialog. Don't know if it is a bug, I was in a hurry and had no time to search the bug database... I found a solution by using keyPressed() and keyReleased() instead of keyTyped():

Why can't Adobe help me in resolving account log in problems?
I am in a bit of a situation - which is at an absolute level of frustration. I have been a loyal user of Adobe products since I have purchased a full version of CS2, then full CS5.1 Design Suite premium.
I am a loyal user, and it's frustrating because after I purchased the CS2 (which I liked and was accustomed to) I attempted to install on a new pc after hard-drive crash....it would not work. I contacted Adobe support at this time...several times...only to be told that it's due to "my older version of CS2 would not work with new Windows software and I needed to purchase a new upgrade"....which in the end WAS NOT the case, it was due to Adobe not supporting the servers for registration.....in the end, I dropped all the money to upgrade to the CS5.1. I am a loyal user, but not a rich one.
Recently - I upgraded my pc and went to load on my CS5.1 onto my pc...but alas, I cannot locate the disks and am thinking these were possibly lost in recent household move. But no worries...I registered with Adobe and I can find some solution...right? I then attempted to look into upgrading to the new cloud, and wanted to use my previous information and registered serial number to do this and get the upgrade...but I cannot as I cannot log into my Adobe account????
I did not log into my Adobe account which was using an old "unaccessible" email account for awhile, and once I tried to log in, Adobe told me I had to "verify my account" by checking my email (which I cannot access any longer). I had to then "create" a new account to get into the Adobe live chat...which I did. They then told me, after 3 separate chat sessions - each time they would inform the correct persons / department, and within 3 days I would have some contact back. I then received an email with the following:

So, I contacted LIve Chat again, and they then tell me to put the notes to close the account in the open case...I do this, and now I went back to check, the case is no longer open, and when I logged into my current account...NO regitration information on my account...and no ability to upgrade. I am at a loss here? I have tried to explain my situation and with my past experience, I am not understanding why Adobe would treat customers in this fashion do the little guys not matter or??? - I'm not using their software for illegitimate reasons, nor making some fortune using their products or??? I just want to use what I have legitimately paid for (which I have a print out of the proof of registration - but it does not list the S/N# and when I tried to enter from my pc as I am still currently using on my home desktop) the Adobe website would not take the number (possilby because it's registered in my old account or????

hi when i open my application folder, all the application is shown in trash folder. when i click the application it says this app is in trash first move it out. and when i try to open through finder> go it says this file doesn't exist. can some1 plz help? how can i put all my application through application folder?
Something really odd is going on. In your first screen shot, I noticed that the Applications folder does not have the proper icon displayed in the side bar. Also, in the title bar it lists it as Applications 08-59-29-909.
Not sure where it's picking up that odd name, unless it's because it's still truly within the Trash folder.
Try this. In the Finder > Preferences > General > turn on "Always open folders in a new window". (I have a feeling you have the default setting with this off).
Now, in Finder > Go > move down and open the Applications Folder from there. Now open the folder where you see all your applications that you show in your screen shot, select all, and move them to this true appliactions folder.
This is what you should properly seeing (but with different apps listed):
See how the Applications folder has the icon of the letter A shaped with a pencil, ruler & pen. -
My iPhone 4 will not sync my new voice memos from the "Voice Memos" app to my computer. This is frustrating, should not be so hard, can someone please help. I use PC with windows 7 with iPhone version 6.1.3 and iTunes most recent. Thanks.
In the Music tab of iTunes, do you have 'Include Voice Memos' checked?

First of all, I live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Sometimes, I use a VPN to search on the web here. I purchased Toy Story 3 on my MacBook Pro 2011 OS/X - Lion through iTunes. I initially had trouble downloading it which may be due to being on and off the VPN but after a while it finally downloaded and shows up in my iTunes library on my MacBook.
Under my Apple ID account (which is the only Apple ID account I have), I look under purchase history and it shows that I paid for Toy Story which is where I got my Order # from. But if you go to the iTunes Store then to the Quick Links then click on Purchased, under all my Movies, it does NOT show Toy Story 3 as one of my movies.
Now when I go to my iPad (3rd gen.), Toy Story 3 does not show up under purchased movies (all or not on my iPad). It does not show up on my Apple TV as well. If I want to have Toy Story 3 on my iPad or Apple TV, then it says I have to purchase it again.
I have searched for help via Apple support communities but so far none of their solutions have worked for me. I have tried logging off iTunes & App Store on iPad and also shutting down the iPad. I also made sure that under iTunes Preferences>Store that iTunes in the Clouds purchases is checked. Can someone please help me with this? Your consideration is greatly appreciated. I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.
