Is it possible for me to learn SAP DMS and become a SAP DMS consultant, If yes Can some one give some docs on the same

Loader preference in SAP DMS

Hi experts,
i would like to know
1) What is loader preference ?
2) How we can use it in SAP DMS?

Hi,
Loader preference can be used with ECL viewer to set various format for 2D documents such as drawings and layout.
Please check the installation of ECL viewer. ECL viewer 5.1.3 and above support loader preference.
1. Open the 2D drawing in ECL viewer
2. Go to viewer tab. Select Loader preference.
3. A seperate window will appear where you can give SHX and xRef path for @D drawings, set fonts which are used in drawing file, set preference etc.
4. You can set preference for file type CGM,DWG/DXF,IGES,DGN,DFT,PDF etc.
Please refer note no. 718418, 726667.
Note number 726667 consist of Zip file which shows how to use loader preferences.

No Knowledge of ABAP, Can I learn SAP NETWEAVER XI ?

Dear Friends,
I do not have any experience or knowledge about ABAP.
Can I learn XI or I MUST definitely learn ABAP first before I proceed to learn XI.
Some people at various institutes told me to learn CA- Cross Applications and that would be enough.
Please post your suggestions......

If you have any programming knowledge with oops concepts then it is enough to learn XI.
If you know CA then it will be an added advantage...

           Can any one tell me ,to learn XI and Portal in netweaver,should i learn whole java i.e advanced java,jdbc,core java......or just core java is enough???

2)Both XI and portal are vast. try to be expert in one of these. its more than enough.

Dear Madhavi,
the service orders can be linked to the sales order in Make-To-Order (assembly) and in Repair-Order process. These processes are absolutely different from the SD point of view, but here some general points:
The button "Service Order" can be observed in the transaction VA02 or VA03, if you go to the sales order, then mark the item and go to the schedule line screen. Under the schedule lines you can see three buttons. The first button from the right side should be "Service Order" if the service order is linked directly to the sales order.
The interface between Sd and CS is the function module CO_61_ORDER_EDIT
It is in the case you want to debug.
On the database, please check the field VBEP-AUFNR for the corresponding sales order and sales order item.

Hi ,
You can learn ABAP from the Good Institute. Before that make a survey whether Companies are interested employing as a fresher for ABAP with qualification like yours. Some Companies perfer Engineering gradutes (not all ). If you are good at work then your qualification should not matter.

if you already know it's better opportunities then it sounds like you have already answered your question
if you are not familiar with the concept of big data or HANA I recommend you enter those terms in your search engine or look at SCN Front page and start reading
as far as how to retrain and transition that will really depend on your current employment situation. What would be a great combination is a mix of ABAP with HANA. Without going into further detail I think you will gain more insight by your own research

SAP BI 7.x Transformations use OO ABAP where the logic that you enter into the tranformational routines (Start Routine, Characteristic Routines and End Routine) are inside METHODS. PERFORM and FORM are procedural-based ABAP and cannot be used in METHODS.
CLASS-METHOD and Function Modules are your best bets for processing outside of the transformational routine. As for performance, we use both and haven't found any signicant difference between the two (our custom Function Modules usually perform only slight better than our custom METHODS).

The major roles of ABAP Consultant is:
1.Analyze/Understand the Functional Specs.
2.Prepare the Tech Specs based on the Functional Specs(Given from Functional people/Team Lead}
3.Start coding/write program in DEVELOPMENT Server.
4.Unit Testing
5.Send to Quality Server.(By transporting from Development server)
6.Once it get approved from ur Team Lead , it will be moved to PRODUCTION Server.
7. Prepare the documentation.
