Can Acrobat be remote controlled via COM/CORBA?

I am somewhat familiar with handling OpenOffice using UNO, Microsoft's office software with COM and then there is CORBA, of course. My question is:
To what extent is Acrobat capable of being "handled" in such fashion?
My GUI application creates fillable forms and adds JS behaviors to them. After several stages, a smart document is born, but I would like to add a last phase (called "simulation", "test" or something) in which the form is actually filled and tested. Its tires are kicked.
Obviously, I am not looking forward implementing my own JavaScript interpreter, plus Acrobat, and embed them in my app. What I would like to do is to place (portions of) Acrobat inside a frame or window of my own program. Isn't that what browsers do? Perhaps I should use the plugin and not the app?
Thanks for sharing your expertise and helping PDF become more useful and widespread...
-Ramon

You can embed a browser control (AxAcroPDF) in a window of your
choice. See whether this offers the required functionality. You will
have to pre-fill the PDF, this cannot be used as the conduit to the
edits you need.

  • Zfd4.01 remote control via desktop4.exe. What rights are needed?(repost, seems to have been stuck in wrong thread)

    Hi.
Trying to give some non-admin users the right to remote control workstations via the user object. I have followed the tids/documentation for
this when using ConsoleOne and that works just fine.
When trying to remote control a user object with desktop4.exe (dopps zenwsbrowser actually) there seems to be some rights missing. Making the
user into an admin solves the problem and until the remote controlled user changes IP on his workstation it keeps on working even when removing
    admin rights.
So the question is simply put:
What rights is needed on user AND workstation objects to remote control with desktop4.exe? Or if someone knows how I can check what attributes
has changed on a user after a remote control has been performed that would be sweet too.

  • Remote control via Airport express

I am looking for a remote control for my music via Airtunes other than the premote app for the Iphone/Itouch. Keyspan has a solution but it's really old and I'm hoping to find a more updated solution. Ideally, I'd like to have a screen that will mimic my Itunes interface so I can scroll through my music. It's a shame that Apple doesn't have a remote to do this.
    Thanks for any help

    Hi Sean,
I basically was in the same situation as you - too lazy to get up and walk to the computer with my music library
The only way I found to do this was using Apple Remote Desktop which unfortunately is too expensive (for me certainly) to be a solution in this case.
Sorry I can't really help, but at least you know you're not alone!

  • Remote control via ethernet

Is it possible to remotely control my "main" iMac with an older Macbook over ethernet?
I use the iMac for all my business/communications stuff but would like to do some music recording. There is not enough space on my desk for all this so I'd like to use the Macbook next to the synths etc. but the Macbook does not have the horsepower to run the music software.
I have run an old PC using RDC from the iMac but I've not been able to do more than drop files into the Macbook's public folder and retrieve them in the iMac.
What I want is to totally control my iMac from the PB.
    thx for any input.

Which OS version the PB is running?
If it is on 10.5 you already have Screen Sharing. If the PB is still at 10.4 you can get JollysFastVNC

  • The remote control which comes with FX5600-VTDR256 is not functioning

    Hi,
I just bought FX5600-VTDR256 card and installed MSI Media Center Deluxe II. Everything works fine except the remote control. It isn't working at all.
By the way, I installed the Video Adapter driver from NVidia (ver 52.13). Has it anything to do with it?

I've already checked the batteries and the IR reciever is plugged in correctly before I send this message. For the batteries, I tried swapping from my mouse. For the IR receiver, I tried plugging in the Video Input and I get the picture on the screen.

No offense is intended at sighting the obvious but you'd be surprised
Video Drivers shouldn't affect it but I haven't the pruduct in my grubby hands to verify. I hate to recommend drvers off of the CD or from the MSI website but it's the only way to be sure. These are the only instances I would consider recommending this and I would do it myself to remove any doubt.

  • Can't find remote control code for Samsung BD-P2550

I am trying to configure my verizon fios remote to control my Samsung BD-P2550 using the DVD button on the remote.  None of the suggested codes work nor does search for the code using the remote and the fast forward button for infinite attempts,  PLEASE HELP!

    joebingo,
Unfortunately the Verizon-provided universal remote will not work for all devices, particularly for advanced devices such as BR players.  If you've already tried all the Samsung DVD codes and none of those work then it's most likely that there is not going to be a working code for this particular device.
However, you can try doing a manual code search by following the instructions here.

  • How can i remotely control a macintosh centris 650

I have an old Centris 650 with some NuBus cards that I still want to use. I'd like to remotely control the Centris, and I would think there are two possible ways to do it: remote control via Ethernet, or emulating the mouse and keyboard (and sharing a monitor). So far, neither approach seems viable. I can find ADB->USB adapters, but not the other way around. The Centris is currently running OS 7.1, though I have installers up to 7.5.5, if installing that would help.
All I need to be able to do is boot one or two applications and make simple adjustments to their UIs.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks!

Apple Remote Access can do that.

  • Can MSI VOX be remotely controlled?

I belive I read in the skimpy manual that the USB VOX TV-tuner could be remotely controlled via the Internet. I've managed to set up streaming, but can't figure out how I can change channels remotely. Is this possible at all or just a glitch in the "manual" ?

You could use software like Caffeine to prevent it from sleeping:

  • Can you manually advance a Captivate slide presentation with a remote control and a projector.

I have published a large volument of PowerPoint presentations with Captivate 5.0 and intend to distribute the presentations to live instructors as a means to control content delivered live by instructors to the students.  The files are aggregrated into groups of lessons and published to PDF with a Table of Contents.
We need to avoid manually advancing the show from the laptop.
Having difficulty determining how to use remote control via laptop and projector to advance the next slide or presentation. Can't get it to work. Was able to do so previously with PowerPoint slides converted to PDF shows. Remotes/Laser pointers worked fine. But now that I have processed the shows through Captivate 5.0 can seem to find a remote that will work with the new PDF or SWF with our systems.
We use a laptop and projection system, so need to be able to advance the show to the next "slide" manually and are trying to figure out how to do it with a remote control.
Has anyone else experienced this challenge and did you find a solution?.

    Hi Carey,
if you can apply the letter "A" for "next" to your remote control?
Then you could add a shortcut to your buttons in the captivate file.
    In deapth:
Go to a PPT importet slide (using the "click mouse" option to continue".
Click somewhere in the screen (clickbox_xx will be selected).
Properties - Action - Shortcut. Click it and press "A".
    Click somewhere on the stage.
Now when you press your next button on the remote, Captivate will receive an "A" and continue to the next slide.
    Hope this helps
    Best

  • Can't Set Remote Login OFF via Send Unix Command systemsetup

Trying to use the System Setup->Remote Login template in ARD to turn off Remote Login (SSH) in Sharing panel of System Preferences on Mac that is administered through Apple Remote Desktop.
In Apple Remote Desktop (ARD), I select the client machine, then choose "Send Unix Command..." from the "Manage" menu. In resultant window, I pick "System Setup->Remote Login (SSH) from the "Template" drop down box in the upper right. That populates the upper window with Unix commands. I edit/change the "on" to "off" and tell the dialog to Run command as User: root, then click on "Send" button.
Progress bar goes forever with no change.
I can turn off Remote Login via ARD by controlling each client machine via an ARD WINDOW, then navigating to the Sharing Preference pane, but that process is tedious when performing for multiple client Macs.
Strange, but I CAN use the "Send Unix Command..." outlined above to turn ON Remote Login, and get the status of Remote Login ("systemsetup -getremotelogin"). Just can't turn OFF Remote Login (quickly/efficiently).
man systemsetup suggests I need to write the command as "setremotelogin -f off" but that failed with an improper command syntax error.
    Thoughts?

It’s waiting for you to type a confirmation. If you run this command on the command line normally, you’ll see the message:
Do you really want to turn remote login off? If you do, you will lose this connection and can only turn it back on locally at the server (yes/no)?
    Use this command instead:
    systemsetup -f -setremotelogin off

In the middle of the Share pod is a button for "Share My Screen". Have them select that button and then share their desktop. They may need to install the add-in, but that should only take a couple seconds. Then they will need to click the button again.
