Can activate itouch4 face time but can call other thru email, pls help

Hi every one, I can turn on 2 itouch 4 face time but once I press the face time button from the contact list email address, the one open the font camera and have ringtone but never collect to the 2nd itouch 4, what I'm doing wrong?
Please help and appreciated.

I cannot tell what is wrong from so far away, but here are some ideas you can consider:
(1) Are you trying to call another iPod touch? If you are trying to FaceTime with an iPhone user, you must have his phone number in your contacts.
(2) Have one iPod touch move to a different hot spot. If one iPod touch can connect from other locations but not from the current location, that location needs to troubleshoot the wi-fi.

(4) If you are trying to FaceTime between two iPod touches at one location, each iPod touch must have used a unique Apple iD to register FaceTime. If they each have a different iD but you are still having trouble, send one iPod touch to a different location to test between different wi-fi networks. Some wi-fi networks seem to have difficulty with multiple simultaneous FaceTime devices.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

My laptop died last night and the date and time was set for 1/1/2000. I went to change the date and time and cannot. For some reason when i pull up system preferences it will not load date and time but will load other stuff. Please help.

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. Resetting the NVRAM and / or SMC will not fix it, and if the system has a preposterous date you may not be able to open System Preferences to correct it. This dilemma may or may not be addressed in a future OS X update.
If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 8 February 2014 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
mm = month
dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is February 8, 2014 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
sudo date 020821002014
or
sudo date 0208210014
Either one will work. If you enter nonsensical values the system will attempt to parse the entry correctly.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

TS3367 I can call my friend threw her face time, but she can not call me.

My face time is able to call all my friends threw their face time.
But when it comes to one of my friends, she can not call me or message me threw face time, she can't call anyone threw face time.
I can't seem to figure out how to get hers to be able to call me.
This is threw our I touch.
Can someone help?

It is iPod touch and the troubleshooting does call it out.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

HT204380 I recently got my wife an Ipad2 and I have my own so 2 on one appleID. Both use Wi-fi. I will be traveling a bit and want to use Face time but I can not seem to get a connection between these two pads. Can Anyone help?

OK my family now has (2) Ipad2. Mine and my wifes. We do NOT want a second apple account but we want to use facetime. Both pads will ring like it is making a call but the other pad will not recieve the call.
I'm sure I'm not the only person with one account and two apple products. Can someone please let me know how to get these to ipads talking to one another so that while we are traveling we can utilize facetime?

No you do not need two Apple ID's. This is what I did on my iPod Touch and my iPad using my one and only Apple ID.
I used my Apple ID which is my main email address associated with my ID as the email address that I can be reached on the iPad so essentially all I did on the iPad was turn FaceTime on in the settings and let that email address be verified for FaceTime on the iPad.
On the iPod Touch I turned on FaceTime in the settings and then under - You can be reached for video calls at - I added another email address that I have with AOL. Then I went to the inbox of that AOL email address and there was an email from Apple with a link that I tapped on to finish the verification process. I can't recall exactly what it said, but it was very easy to follow the instructions to verify the address.
Then I went back to the FaceTime settings on the Touch and removed my Apple ID email address from - You can be reached for videos calls at ... You have to remove this email address so that you do not end up calling yourself. FaceTime will always revert to the first email address in the settings so that is why you have to remove the Apple ID email address in the one device.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?
