Can 'Admin' email account be created...?

I tried to create 3 external email addresses on my Laptop using; My Account, Manage Mail Options, Accounts.  Two of them worked fine, but one failed to send the Authentication email to the external email address. So, until this authentication email is sent and verified, I am unable to send emails from this 3rd account. The first 2 worked fine, so the details are OK. I even tried deleting one of the working ones, just in case it was a number of accounts issue. It still failed. (I then recreated the deleted account again & it still worked)
Are there any known issues with using the account name 'Admin', is it a reserved name?
Thanks for any help provided.

Can you clarify please?  Was this an email address on the btinternet.com domain ([email protected]) or somewhere else?
Some @btinternet.com addresses are reserved, eg you can't create the address [email protected] - which is reasonable, as you or I are not the postmaster of the btinternet.com domain.  It wouldn't surprise me if [email protected] also fell into that category.
I have, however, used postmaster@mydomain, webmaster@mydomain etc.
I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use admin@yourdomain although I've not tried it myself.
EDIT: I've just tried it myself - it won't let me add admin@mydomain - I get the same error.
This is wrong
Hi.
I've just this second tried myself (using a different slightly quicker route, but gets to the same place - Options/More Options/Accounts) - but I had no such error message. Althoiugh I've not received the confirmation email, the system said it did send.
Mine was to a .co.uk
I'll respond later if I get the confirmation email.
Mmm...strange. I definitely got the same error as the OP when I tried earlier, but I tried again when I saw this and it appeared to be OK. This was a .co.uk domain too, but I doubt that's relevant.
[the only difference between then and now, from my perspective, is that all of my accounts are now switched to the spanky new mail interface here. When I tried earlier, it was from a different location using an old PC with IE5, which wouldn't let me use the new interface and forced me into the Classic interface. That may have no bearing on things whatsoever, but I thought I'd mention it...]
I'm yet to see the verification email though, so it hasn't actually worked yet...
No email verification received, and I've tried it on two different email addresses.
That's using Firefox, and neither were the "very new" interface.
Although I didn'r receive the error, it appears not to have worked. Mind you - I have known these verification emails to tkae some time to arrive on the odd occassion.

  • How can an email account be created using Java mail on the FLY.

Scenario is such that i am using mail server from MDaemon.com and JavaMail api,and making Email website like yahoo...some what ! but how can a user create his account by just filling the form and when he enters his account be created in Mail server..

Last time I checked MDaemon has its own API for account management. I have never tried to do anything with it but their sales literature says it exists.
Account management will be specific to the platform and mail server software. This is beyond the scope of JavaMail which is for message transport (and management to an extent on IMAP servers), not account management on the server.
The other alternative is to write your own application that modifies the structures used by mdaemon but since it already has an API why bother.

  • How I can see what accounts I created with my family pack in my old mobileme account?

the same format so it matches the others in the company. i dont see it anywhere in my account now.
i am using a .mac format. thanks.

In order to see which devices are authorized on your account:
    Open iTunes
    Click Store
    Click Account
    Click View Account
    Enter your password
Look in the second section iTunes in the Cloud
To the far right you'll see Manage Devices
Once it's clicked you will see all of the devices currently authorized in iTunes/on your account
I was going to say, "Hope this helps," but based on the above, I'm pretty sure it did!
    Thanks guys...

  • Can an email account sync to an iphone automatically just because you plugged it into a computer

can an email account pop up on your iphone just because it had been plugged into a computer

Older versions of iTunes had a Info tab for iPhones connected via USB.  This tab had a setting to sync Mail's account info,  The Info tab is not in the latest iTunes.

  • Can Multiple email accounts on Galaxy S4 sync with iCloud & non-iCloud email?

Hello… has anyone successfully set up multiple email accounts (iCloud/Yahoo/AT&T/etc.) on their Samsung Galaxy S4 Jelly Bean 4.2? I searched the forums and it has been said that configuration settings depend on the combination of wireless service provider + device model + email providers + Android version.
My S4 is from AT&T and if this scenario can't work, I have to cancel my contract in a few days (although that would be the last resort). From checking the forums, not everyone has been able to get the S4 to work with iCloud. In my case, I hope to sync up with iCloud and non-iCloud email which might be trickier.
Here is one thread that helps with settings, but doesn't seem to address multiple or non-iCloud accounts: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22435596#22435596
    Some background info…
Although Gmail just works on Android devices, I plan to primarily use Apple/Yahoo/AT&T email (at least initially).
I don’t yet have Apple mail/iCloud, but plan to. I am partially switched to the Mac (Mtn Lion), but haven’t completed the jump from Windows.
I don’t have an iPhone (so hopefully that makes the setup less complicated.)
I mostly care about email on the S4 (I’m not concerned about syncing up contacts, calendar, music, etc.).
Apologies for the long post, but hopefully I’ve included the necessary background info for the questions below:
Is it possible to setup multiple (iCloud/Yahoo/AT&T) emails on the Samsung Galaxy S4 from AT&T so that they sync nicely?
From the S4, if I reply to an email, will the Sender in the email reply be the same account which received the email? Or, (as I’ve read in the excerpt below) will the Sender for all email replies from the S4 be set from a fixed/primary account?
Although the first two questions above are the most urgent for now, I'd appreciate pointers if you see something that should be changed in the configuration settings below.
    Thanks in advance!

After spending quite some time trying to get my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II setup with iCloud mail, this is what finally worked. Thanks to everyone for the various bits that helped lead me in the right direction. For those who need lots of detail, I hope the below helps. Please don't ask me about any other specific Android phones as I'm not expert but thought someone out there could benefit from my experience.
    INCOMING SERVER SETTINGS
User Name: username (do not enter @me,com or @mac.com)
    Password: (enter your password)
    IMAP server: imap.mail.me.com
    Security type: SSL
    Port: 993
IMAP path prefix: p##- (you can find this by checking your account settings on your Mac. Mine was p03- so that's what I entered here)
    Press NEXT
    OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS
    SMTP server: smtp.mail.me.com
    Security type: TLS
    Port: 587
check the box next to "Require sign-in" if it's not already checked
User name: username  (do not enter @me.com or @mac.com)
    Password (enter your password)
    Press NEXT
Your phone will check the server settings and you should be able to see your email now.
And another poster provided these additional tips…
Definitely select SSL/TLS and accept all certificates
Now here's the zinger: Authentication should be LOGIN
After figuring this out, I finally (after many hours of searching and testing) got to my outgoing server settings, which are: smtp.me.com
    NONE for security type
    Tic "Require Sign-in"
    Authentication is PLAIN
And another poster's question about the Sender's email address for multiple accounts…
Managed to get this all set up however, Android only seems to allow you to send from your primary address and only reply from your primary address even if a mail was sent to one of the other addresses.
Any ideas how to get around this as I have three addresses beneath my primary which I need to both send from and reply from.

You're unlikely to find many people with experience of configuring multiple email accounts on a specific Samsung device, here on the Apple forum for an Apple service. Try the Samsung forums for help setting up your Samsung phone.
There are a few posts with general info relating to setting up an iCloud email account on Android here if you search though.

  • Will I still recieve emails from my old email account after creating an iCloud email account on my devices?

After creating an iCloud email will I still recieve emails from my old email account account on my devices?

If the old email account is a non-iCloud email account, then yes.  You will continue to receive email from your old account as long as it is still set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.
However, if the old email account is an iCloud email account, you will have to add it back on your devices in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then sign in with your old iCloud account IC, in order to continue to receive it on your devices.  If you do this, the old email will be fetch only, not push.

  • Someone else has used my email account to create an itunes account

Hi! Hopefully somebody maybe able to help.
I have an itunes account, but have another personal email address. Someone has registered this email address for itunes and an ipod touch (which I don't have)
I saw the two emails from apple saying thank-you for registering so I emailed apple on [email protected] to say that I hadn’t registered this email account and asking them to delete my email address as an apple itunes account. I didn’t hear anything back so thought maybe it was ok.
Then today I received an itunes receipt only for $1.07 and billed to Store Credit. The email address is right but they have used my name and a different address in USA whereas I live in UK.
I’m worried this is fraud and it will escalate.
Any ideas how can I get this sorted out?
Anybody know of the best contact details for apple for this sort of thing?
Thanks for ay help anybody can give me!

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting) and explain your situation to them.
    Good luck.

  • Can an email account be reused?

I original set my son's itune account (for his ipod) with my husband's email address. I'm going to change it to his own email account now.  Will I then be able to use the original email to set up my husband a new itunes account when he gets an iphone?

  • Lost all email when I deleted email accounts and created new accounts in Thunderbird, this is due to complications changing password. How do I get mail back?

First, I did not do a backup, did not think I needed one, my bad. I recently had to change my passwords in the ISP Server and of course in Thunderbird. There were complications, none of my email clients, both Outlook and Thunderbird on multiple computers, would authenticate the new passwords, in working around them I changed to imap from pop3, then later tried to change back to pop3, did not want to work, so, I deleted all of the accounts and recreated them back under pop3, in that process I seem to have lost all of my mail folders. Is there a way to get them back? I have deleted and recreated accounts before and not had this problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

Your messages might still be there in your Thunderbird profile folder.
You could create a new account and then point to the folder that already exists.
See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb Profiles TB] for more information.

  • Can two email accounts be set to IMAP in Thunderbird

When you add an account to Thunderbird the default is IMAP.

  • I changed email address and had to delete my account and create a new one with the new email address. When I did this i lost all of the information in my calendar. How can I recover this vital information?

My email address changed and I had to delete my account and create a new one with the new address. After I did this all of the data in my iPhone calendar is gone. How can I recover this vital data?

It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.
Read this for full information and suggestions to regain access to your BBID >> http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/How-to-regain-access-to-your-BBID/td-p/25467...
You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.
    Good luck.

  • Email Account Created with a profile but not deleted when the profile was removed.

When I was working on creating a mobileconfig file to lead our users through setting up their email I inadvertently created a script that would create two email accounts instead of just one.  When I removed the profile from the device it only uninstalled one of the email accounts it created.  When I go into the account that was left on the device the "Delete  / Remove" button is not there.  Any suggestions on how I can remove the orphaned account without reseting my device?

    Hello MM
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
In the affected account (admin) go to: System Preferences > Universal Access > select the Seeing tab > now look down at the Display: section and make sure that Enhance contrast: is set to Normal.

  • How can I delete an old exchange email account

I have a new iPad Air. I restored it from a backup of my old iPad 3. My work exchange email account came with it but does not work. When I followed the procedures my work support provided I found a new email account was created with the same name.  I tried to delete the old exchange account but there is no DELETE option.  I checked and I have no restrictions enabled.  I was able to make the old exchange account inactive by turning off mail/contacts/calendar/reminders.
Please advise on how to delete this account.
    Thanks in advance
    Environment:
    IOS 7.0.3
    iPad Air 128GB WiFi only

Brendan, thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately neither of these helped.  There are no checkboxes ticked for Safari (and I only use Firefox, generally) and I am able to sign in after signing off.  But when I go to sign in here I get the [email protected] filled in as in the attached.  And I have been using [email protected] as my defsult email and also my Apple ID user name since before there was an iCloud.  So what now?
