Can Adobe CS5 run with intel i5?

I'm planning on purchasing Adobe CS5 creative suite 5 production premiere student and teacher edition, to learn how to use After effects, Premiere pro,
and photoshop. I just started to getting into photography/vfx as a hobby using my Canon T2i. I have a custom pc I build 2 years ago using:
Windows XP
Core 2 duo 3.0Ghz
2GB Ram
Evga Gefore 9500 GT 512mb 128-bit DDR 2
WD 500GB HDD
corsair 450 PSU
With the above setup I was able to run after effects cs4 and premiere pro cs4 trial verisions with now problems. I aslo know that my computer is not
powerful enough to run the lastest adobe software, so I was going to build another pc. The footage I would be editing are from the T2i, 720p mov files, and will be
small projects, the footage would be less than 15 minutes long. The PC i'm thinking of building would have:
Window 7
intel core i5-750
intel DH55TC motherboard
8GB RAM
MSI Gefore 240 1GB 128-bit DDR 5
WD Black 1T HDD
Will I be able to run adobe CS5 with this build?
Thank you

Researching componets for a High-end PC is a real research project. So decided to go with a full ATX motherboard and the recommend video card for
Adobe Premiere Pro, 3 hard drives and a ATX mid tower case, a full tower cases are too big for my needs.

  • Will Adobe CS5 work with Intel HD Graphics card 3000?

I am thinking about buying this laptop. http://www.staples.com/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6163us-17.3-Laptop/product_343565
Will Adobe CS5 run on it OK?

Both of the HP laptops that you mentioned will be quite sluggish in running CS5, even compared to a cheap $400 desktop:
    1) Neither of those laptops have more than one single internal hard drive, which is already below Adobe's stated minimum requirements. Adobe requires a minimum of two discrete fast hard drives (no partitions) in order to run CS5 at all. Unfortunately, neither of those HP laptops have an eSATA port at all. (Those HP laptops have two USB 3.0 ports - but USB by itself doesn't support RAID at all.) Nor does either of those two laptops have any provision whatsoever to accommodate nore than the included internal hard drive.
    2) Based on the CPU alone, your first choice of a laptop with an i7-2630QM is better - but only if it also has an Nvidia GPU with 1GB or more. The CPU in your second choice, an i5-2410M, is only a dual-core CPU (in fact, all mobile i5's are only dual-core) - and no system (laptop or desktop) with a dual-core CPU performs as well in CS5 as even a mediocre system with a quad-core CPU.
    3) Neither of those two HP laptops come with (or is even available with) a GPU that supports MPE GPU acceleration. The first choice has only the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics while the other comes with an onboard AMD Mobility Radeon GPU. And as we all know, both of those systems would have run CS5 only in MPE software-only mode. There is a plugin to allow CS5 to utilize the QuickSync feature of the first laptop (the second one cannot utilize QuickSync at all because it uses a discrete GPU) - but that would have speeded up only the encoding times (it would not have helped rendering times much if at all).
    4) All consumer HP systems - both laptop and desktop - come pre-loaded with a ton of bloatware that cannot be easily uninstalled (or more precisely, software whose uninstallation still leaves behind pieces of it that actually slows down system performance and/or makes it run less stably). Worse, neither laptop includes a system restore disk (all of the restore files are on a locked hard drive partition that can only be accessed by one of HP's authorized service facilities). HP will sell you a recovery/restore disk, but that will cost you an additional fee.
    5) Both of those systems come with only 6GB of RAM. In the case of laptops, 8GB is recommended if you're going to run CS5 much. Although the systems theoretically support 16GB of RAM, those two laptops have only two DIMM slots, and there are currently no compatible 8GB modules on the market.
    6) Finally, the internal hard drive spins at only 5400 RPM. Laptop hard drives, as a rule, are slower than desktop hard drives (sequential speed wise). You'd be lucky if that 750GB 5400 RPM hard drive can sustain even half the sequential speed of the slowest current-production "Green" desktop hard drive.
As a result, both of those laptops would have been slower in the PPBM5 benchmark than most (if not all) of the desktops on the PPBM5 results list.

Yes, as long as your machine meets the system requirements for Creative Cloud.

You should not. But it never hurts to have a backup because bad things can happen.

  • HELP!  Mac Pro Desktop...  Can/Should I run with my NEC 2070NX LCD?

My main reason for considering a MAC is my photography work, my peers tell me to go this route (Mac). I currently run Adobe Photoshop CS2 on a PC and HP Laptop.
I have been considering buying an iMAC 20" OR 24".. now the MAC PRO Desktop! Still undecided! Comments & Suggestions greatly appreciated!
I am leaning towards the MAC PRO Desktop purchase, pretty much base unit for now Dual 2.66, 250 HD, 256 Graphics, etc.
I am thinking if using my existing NEC LCD with the Mac Pro Desktop... Can I run with my NEC 2070NX LCD?
I bought the NEC about 2 months ago.. highly recommended for photo use due to the LCD Panel being an S-IPS type, much better than TFT as I hear!

Mac Pro Desktop (to be)   Mac OS X (10.4)   Current PC guy, to be first time MAC!

I loathe Windows and have been a Mac user since the Apple II+ so far be it from me to discourage anyone from switching...but....Photoshop is not yet a Universal Binary which means it doesn't run natively on the Mac Intel line. If you have a good, fast windows machine now, moving to a mac will be a downgradein speed. Overall it may be a win if you are experiencing crashing, have problems with viruses or have other issues, but if you have a fast, stable PC running Photoshop that is working well for you the lesser speed of PS on a Mac is something to be aware of. Your monitor is no concern or problem. A base unit purchase, however, is. The base 1gig of ram is insufficient for all but the most casual user of a MacPro and it is wholly insufficient for a heavy Photoshop user because Photoshop needs RAM and so does Rosetta in order to run Photoshop in emulation on the Intel board. (don't bother nitpicking if emulation isn't the exact term ) Three megs of RAM is, IMHO, your base configuration, and if you want to use Aperture, the ATI card becomes part of the base configuration too. But...the MacPRo wants memory in pairs and three gigs, it turns out, handicaps the speed of the machine a bit...so while three gigs is a "base" (again...IMHO) for Photoshop, 4 gigs is my strong recommendation (which I followed personally).

  • Is Adobe CS5 compatible with CS3 and Dreamweaver 8 files

    All,
We have eight users that are using CS3 (Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat 8) plus Dreamweaver Studio 8 on Windows XP Pro 32-bit.  Two of these users are moving to Windows 7 64-bit.  We don't have it in the budget to upgrade all 8 users.  Will Adobe CS5 Premium files (particularly InDesign and Dreamweaver) work with CS3 and Dreamweaver 8 files?
    Thanks

InDesign absolutely NOT! InDesign can only save back one version.
But...CS3 runs just fine on Win7 64 bit.
I'm not sure about what issues you'll have with Dreamweaver.
Please post followups in the InDesign and Dreamweaver forums.

  • Z77A GD-65: Windows 7 not installing/running with Intel SATA controller.

I've been having some weird issues with the Intel SATA controllers on-board. They won't let me install Windows at all. I'm using a Crucial m4 with the 0309 firmware.
When I was trying to install Windows with the SSD connected to the Intel SATA controller, installation would always fail sometime around the "Completing Installation" segment. I tried ACHI mode, IDE mode, nothing worked.
So I decided to try hooking up my SSD to the ASMedia controller instead, despite that being advised against. Windows was able to install and run fine on that connection. After that, I installed all of Intel's chipset drivers and all the updates available for Windows, hoping it would resolve the problem.
Then, I connected the SSD to the Intel port again. Now I get a BSOD every time I try to start windows, even though it has drivers for the chipset available.
I'm really upset by this... it seems like I'm going to have to settle for inferior SATA 6 performance just so I can run Windows. :(

Quote from: Warner on 24-May-12, 03:58:56
You can't install OS with ASMEDIA port, and then switch to Intel port.
So basically, if I can't get it to install on the Intel port, I'm stuck using the other one... well, the performance isn't optimal, but I guess it's acceptable as a failsafe. Better than nothing.

Try doing a new installation based on the Intel port, load Intel driver on HDD screen, and proceed.
What Intel driver do I need, and how do I load it during Windows installation?

  • Can Premiere Pro run with 1024 x 768 display?

I know it says you need a 1280 x 900, but can it run with a smaller screen. I don't really need it for HD editing just regular video.

It should... I just tried running it on my laptop at that resolution and it worked fine, but it doesn't give you a lot of room to work.

  • Adobe CS5 run on OS X 10.8?

Hi, has anyone tested Adobe CS5 on OS X 10.8.  I have tried Adobe but no one seems to have tested or are not telling so any help would be appreciated.   Thank you.

    Noble Seven,
Thanks very much for the prompt reply!
I tried what you suggested, but the com.adobe.illustrator.plist is not showing up in my Preferences file.
I have just gotten off the phone with Apple. They suggested I take it into the store (only 2 miles from where I live) for a diagnostics test.
    Keeping my fingers crossed.
    Thanks, again.

  • Is Adobe CS5 compatible with OS X Lion?

I wish to download OS X Lion but I want to be sure that Adobe CS5 (specifically Photoshop 5) won't have any problems functioning on the new operating system.

Have you even done a Forum search?

  • Can Premiere cs5 run on the ASUS A53SV-NH71 laptop?

I'm about to buy this laptop but I need to know if anything will completely prevent Premiere from running at all.
    Here are the specs:
CPU Type: Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2GHz
CPU Support: 6MB L3 Cache 3.1GHz Turbo frequency
    Memory Size: 6GB DDR3
    Hard Disk: 500GB 7200rpm
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GT 540M
    Video Memory: 1GB
    +
    External Hard Disk: 160GB 7200rpm
and Extenal Moniter 20" I checked the resulutions enough.
If Premier CS5 can't work is their anything else?

.....as an Asus laptop user of PPro, I would not recommend this unit
You need in a laptop :
More than  1 GB of DDR 5 video memory, not DDR3.....460m and above NVidia mobile card...NVidia only
Minimum 2 7200rpm HDDs, preferably, both on board....one for OS and Programs, one for all else,minimum...( 2 bays are good....put own quality SATA III SSD in first bay if you  have budget)
As much memory as you can stuff in it, 16GB minimum
Big enough screen ,so you can see what you are doing, and not cut off any of the program's user interface ...1920x1080 is best....17.3 inch
eSATA,or, USB 3 external port for adding even a third HDD, to improve performance.
HDMI port, to hook up HDTV, or, ext. monitor......HDTV can show what your timeline would look like full-screen on a TV...which is different than a monitor.....you can make the TV or Monitor be a full screen display of your timeline w/ PPRO
Check out larger Asus models, compare to Sager and ADK
Go to PPBM5 website and look at benchmark results from laptops....you will see how different configurations perform there....
you will also see that even the best laptop cannot compete with a good desktop setup....it is a compromise...
Also, read more info on this forum.....there is a whole host of knowledge and experience here to help you avoid making costly mistakes in purchasing, and to show you what to expect with your particular workflow on various equipment setups....

  • Adobe software - compatibility with intel Macs

I've just bought a new iMac and hoped to be able to run my elderly Adobe software (InDesign 2 & Photoshop 7). I have enabled Rosetta but when trying to install both programs (from the original discs) it made reference to Classic (which I thought was only used to run programs that were native to OS 9). Needless to say, Photoshop did install but crashes every time I launch while InDesign fails to install at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way around it? Or do I have to buy new Adobe software. PS: I have successfully installed and are using, Microsoft Office from 2003.

I am coming from the PC land, I puchased a IMAC QUAD 7 with lots 8 gigs of memory. I tried to install photoshop essentials I think 6 for the Mac it came with a new touchpad. It would not work it crashed immediatly. I installed Photoshop c4 extended, trial version for the Mac it works just fine its problem unlike extended for PC is not 64 bit It only sees 4 of the 8 gigs of memory. It works justfine. It can not open as many pictures at same time but I can only work n one at a time. I am also running Windows 7 64 bit with fusin ware 3. Windows works quiet well. You may be able to run your older photoshop( I believe they came with both Windows and Apple versions) Inside of your apple, fusion and say windows xp are less than photoshop. Just a thought.

  • Can Adobe Connect run Flash Catalyst documents?

I want to create a prize catalog tool that employees can browse within Adobe Connect while attending an event meeting. I created a test document with Flash Catalyst just to make sure I could upload to Connect, and it's a good thing i did. When I uploaded the .zip file to my content library inside Central Login, I could click on the content link and it opened in its own window and worked beautifully. However, when I tried to navagate to that file from inside a share pod, it didn't come up on the list of supported documents, and it wouldn't let me load the zip file directly into the share pod from my computer, either. I noticed that the base file for Catalyst creations is main.swf. Connect accepts SWFs and flash files that contain SWFs, but they must also have an index.swf file, and the files that Catalyst generates don't include one. Is there a way to change that, or anything else I could do so that I can use Catalyst to create my app for inside Adobe Connect?
Thanks in advance for your time and expertise,
    -Pauline

Well, Connect 8 supports files from Flash Professional and from Adobe Flex. I've not seen any integration with Flash Catalyst. Adobe Connect came from the Macromedia acquisition and so is a Flash app running on top of the Flash Player but we recommend using Adobe Presenter and Flash Professional or Adobe Captivate or Adobe Flex as tools to create content. If I see any mention of Catalyst I'll post but to date I've not seen where we support it.
