Can air duster be used to clean out iPod touch?

Okay so here is my situation: my home button appears to be stuck down. Not unresponsive, literally stuck down. I have to press it down hard in order for it to work. So hard that I can't even use my finger cuz it hurts like ****, I have To press it down with something else. This usually happens when dust and dirt gets in through the charger port and accumulates inside the iPod and makes it's way under the home button causing it to get stuck down. Either that or its broken, which i know mine isnt because i havent dropped it or banged it on anything. But I do carry it in my purse alot so I know that it is the dust and dirt problem. So I have read in many blogs that people use a drop of 90% alcohol. And this has worked for a ridiculous amount of people. But even though it has worked for so many, I am afraid of the long term effects it might have on the iPod. I have also read about people using electrical contact cleaner to clean it out. And some also used compressed air to blow out the dust and dirt. I haven't heard of anybody actually using air duster (compressed air in a can). I know some people are scared to use it because sometimes it sprays out liquid. But I also haven't seen anybody state that it has messed up their iPod. Is there anyone out there who has had the same problem and fixed it with air duster?

Hi lllaass,
Thank you for your reply. I am myself to think it is fine also, but I just want to make sure. Have a good day.

  • Can I transfer files using Bluetooth with an iPod Touch?

I have just updated my iPod Touch to 3.0 and I heard that there is a stereo bluetooth feature. Can I somehow transfer files and media using it? (No jailbroken !!) If not, how can I use it?

There is no file transfer via bluetooth, only music streaming to a compatible bluetooth headset.

  • Can i find my Ipod Touch using my friend's Ipod Touch???

I took my Ipod to my friend's house in a bag and left it there. The next day i find out it is not there so it is lost/probably stolen. I tried to use Find My Ipod on it to see if it works but it says it is offline/probably out of charge. Is there anyway of using my friend's Ipod Touch to locate it???
    Thanks Again Guys
BTW guys, i live on no.9 Annesley Close and my phone number is 07961301917 so if you find it, plz contact me.
    THANKS GUYS

Using the FindMyiPhone app on an iPod will give the same off-lin results
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown/offline, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • HT3529 I have two older iPhones (3g, 3gs) that I've given to my granddaughters. The phones don't have phone service so they're using them like an iPod touch. Can I set up Message on these phones without a phone number for them or data plan?

I have two older iPhones (3g, 3gs) that I've given to my granddaughters. The phones don't have phone service so they're using them like an iPod touch. Can I set up Messages for them on these phones without a phone number or data plan using only Wi-Fi?

Yes you can. Just make sure you have iMesages on. You will need to go into Settings>Messages and turn it on and log in to their Apple IDs. I was having some activation issues when I first got my iPhone 4S [it was the carrier's fault, not the iPhone's] and I was using iMessages with my Apple ID to text my friends who had iPhones. I of course had to be connected to Wi-Fi for it to work. Hope that helps.
You could also have them download a texting app and they could use that on Wi-Fi. There are many free ones out there. I personally enjoy Text Now. Gives you your own phone number so others can text you too, not just iDevices.

  • I have a Sony AC-U50AD charger can I use it on my ipod touch and ipad mini - there is a switch for "ipod"

I have a Sony AC-U50AD charger can I use it on my ipod touch and ipad mini - there is a switch for "ipod" - I've had the adapter for several years and I think it's ok for my ipod touch but since it pre-dates both of these products I want to try and make sure it's ok to use with them before I do use it. Thanks.

If iTunes does not see your iPod then your only hope is a data recovery company. Not cheap.
However, you may be able to get some photos by:
    Photos
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore another iPOd, iPhone or iPad from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

  • Why can I copy music to my iPad or iPod touch from multiple computers but from only one computer using my iPhone?

Why can I copy music to my iPad or iPod touch from multiple computers but from only one computer using my iPhone?
IPads and iPod Touches don't seem to have the same media copying restriction that my iPhone has. My main computer is at home. I have music at home and at work and sometimes I like to add it to my iPhone from work. I can do this no problem using my iPad or my iPod touch, but when it comes to my iPhone, I can only copy music to it from my main computer.
Why would the iPhone have this restriction but not the other two devices?
ps. Where's my "add currently playing song to playlist" button? I can't even find a third-party music app with this feature.

    Because...!
    I've no idea why either.
Although it isn't normally possible to sync an iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers (or manually manage an iPhone from more than one) it can be achieved if all computers have copies of the self same library. See Re: how do i sync on a second laptop without the data on my iPhone 5 being erased?
