Can an Apple TV have 2 home sharing accounts?
I have 2 computers, each with its own home sharing account. Can one Apple TV see them both simultaneously?
The Apple TV can't use two ID's for homesharing, but your computer doesn't need to use the same ID for iTunes and for homesharing, so if you use the same ID for homesharing on both computers, the Apple TV will see them both.

As Winston Churchill wrote, however you might want to do a factory reset on the Apple TV.
This way all information pertaining to your daughter will be removed from the device. Specifically if see was sign into any of the streaming service, Netflix, Hulu, etc. her credentials will still be associated with this Apple TV, doing a factory reset will remove all that and make it as if you purchased the device and just plugged it in.

If you are attempting to share to both at the same time, you can't.
Are you selecting the second AppleTV in home sharing options on the MBP. Are all devices signed in for Home Sharing with the same AppleID?

If I try to sync --I get the message that ipod can be synced w only one computer and if I sync with this library (which only shows new purchases from itunes) it will replace everything that is currently on ipodWhy can't the songs be transferred to the device? I have home sharing on in iTunes but can't see my library when I use the computers icon on Apple TV. iTunes does display my purchased tunes but not my own imports.
I can play my own tunes by selecting them on my iMAC and directing them to Apple TV. I think that I should be able to see my entire library on Apple TV shouldn't I?
Am up-to-date with iTunes and using Mavericks OS. I am connecting to Apple TV with an Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-FI and a brand new Apple TV.

RogerOkay, so HomeSharing is not working. Most likely due to a network issue.
Is the ATV and computer running iTunes actually on the same network? Many new routers create seperate networks for the wired and wireless portions of the local network. -
Pathetic Apple TV - no home sharing possible? Can connect mac but not ipad or iphone?

If you mean an iTunes gift card then it is redeemed onto an iTunes account, not a device, so it can be used to buy content from the stores (iTunes, ibookstore, app store, Mac App store) where you use that account - it can't be split onto multiple accounts.

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

Sorry, let me clarify. I have two Apple IDs A and B:
A: Used for iCloud. All my calendar, mail, contacts, and other iCloud features are here. This is the ID I use as "the" iCloud on my iOS devices and OS X machines.
B: Used only for purchases, on all my devices and machines. This is what I used to log into iTunes, or to buy apps for iOS or OS X.
The issue is that the only way (currently) to set up Family Sharing is to invite from an iCloud ID (A, in my case) on an iOS 8 device. That's not the ID (B) I use for purchases. The question is whether there's a way to share those purchases given that I'm configured on all my devices with A for iCloud. (Clearly if I somehow send invitations from B, I can share purchases; but that's not the question.)
It sounds like the answer to that question is 'No'.
If that's the case, how do I invite from B? Do I have to configure an iOS device with B as the iCloud ID? My problem isn't that I want to ("willy nilly") avoid inviting form B; it's that there seems to be no way (certainly no convenient way) to do that. -
New Apple TV update & now not recognizing MacBook Air, all devices have home sharing ON.
This is getting ridiculous. I wanted to simply shoot my favorite playlist through to my TV & surround sound when a few friends stopped by. I went to turn it on using my Apple TV and wham, and had to install an update. There went 1/2 hour of waiting. Then finally done, and, nope....**** thing doesn't recognize the macbook air, or my iPhone, or my iPad. ALL have home sharing ON, including Apple TV, all are connected to the netwoork. But nope. I finally gave up after an hour of restarting all & trying to troubleshoot, find help online, but I had to get back to my guests.
These electronics are taking WAAAY too much time to update, diagnose, troubleshoot, ..... we do nothing anymore but sit on the computer.
Anyone have ANY idea how to fix this? Oh, wait, maybe I should kill two hours at a Genius Bar? Yeah, that would have been great: hey, wait a couple of hours everyone while I try to schedule an appt and get to the genisu bar so we can listen to music.Did you restart your router.

Intermittent problems
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
Consistent Problems
A frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is the service being blocked on the network. Make sure your network isn't hidden, has a unique name, that MAC address authentication is disabled, security is set to use WPA 2 Personal and that there is only one router/device acting as a DHCP server and providing NAT services.

If you are consistently unable to activate AirPlay, have tried all the steps in this article and have security software installed on your system, you might benefit from contacting its provider or participating in any online forums they run to discuss the matter with them. -

if the copy files ... when adding option is checkmarked in iTunes > preferences > advanced, files you transfer via homesharing are copied permanently to the other library.

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

Auto-sleep, okay. Manual sleep, and it wakes back up. ???
