Can an audiobook be made into a playlist?

I know the touch knows the difference between music and an audiobook.  HOWEVER for some reason my car (2013 Lesus GS) has no problem with touch music but has some "issues" in starting and restating my audiobook.  I was wondering if I could simply save the audiobook as a "playlist" and fool the system...or is this like messing with "Mother Nature?"

Not directly.  You will need something like the Elgato Eye TV hybrid and s-video cable (to link the Elgato to the Sky Box).

  • Can no longer be made into a ringtone

I purchased Jump by Van Halen even though I already own the song from a cd. When I tried to make a ring tone (it has a bell by it in itunes store and my library) it tells me "Jump by Van Halen can no longer be made into a ringtone".
I can not find a link on Apple's support site to ask them. Any help?

  • After purchase: ". . . can no longer be made into a ringtone"

I figured I'd get my first ringtone.
Maybe it was a bad choice, but "Mandy" by Barry Manilow was there, with the ringtone bell. My daughter's name. I knew it would make her crazy!
Immediately after I downloaded it, I went to make the ringtone- and a dialog box came up that said "'Mandy' by Barry Manilow can no longer be made into a ringtone."
C'mon, Apple! Is there any other reason I would buy that song? How do I get my 99 cents credited back?

When you get your iTunes statement via email, there is a link for each song that says, "Report a problem." Click on the link adjacent to the song you have issue with, follow the prompts and send your issue to Apple.
They usually respond in less than a day.

  • Sophisticated Lady by Billie Holiday can no longer be made into a ringtone

Despite the fact the I already own several versions of this song on CD, I suckered myself into buying it from iTunes just so that I could make it into a ringtone for my iPhone.
Once it finished downloading iTunes cheerfully tells me: "Sophisticated Lady" by Billie Holiday can no longer be made into a ringtone.
I wonder, was I too slow? Were there just too many people making this song into ringtone so now the ringtone quota for "Sophisticated Lady" has been filled?
What annoys me is there is no way of knowing, that I can tell, if a song can be made in to a ringtone or not. So, if you already own the music, it's a gamble. You have to buy the song from iTunes and then try to make it into a ringtone. If you're lucky it'll work. You can't just buy the ringtone. You have to buy the song, and then the ringtone, which is 2 * $0.99 + whatever else you payed for the music.

I think there are several people having issues with the ringtone icon not properly appearing for songs that can be made into tones. Also, there seems to be quite a bit of music that once could be made into ringtones that can no longer be made into songs. I get that for several of the Van Halen songs that initially were able to be made into ringtones, but that no longer can be. For example I get the error message "Eruption" by Van Halen can no longer be made into a ringtone.
If anyone else has figured this out, please let us know.

  • "...can no longer be made into a ringtone" why not, I ask

I purchased a song on itunes today (a song that I already owned!) for the purpose of creating a ringtone.
Went to the Purchased folder, highlighted the song, selected "create ringtone", had to login to itunes store again, clicked Buy...then I was presented with a window:
*This song cannot be made into a ringtone:*
"wheres your head at" by Basement Jaxx can no longer be made into a ringtone
What gives? How can I fix this issue? Using itunes version 7.4.1.2

That song can not be a ringtone. Not all songs have been authorized by their owners for use with ringtones. Its a nuance of copyright law.
However, iTunes has been updating this information all day so it may become available in the future.

  • Songs Bought from iTunes Store Can No Longer Be Made Into Ringtones???

I just tried to make a ringtone with a song I bought from the iTunes store a couple of months ago - it's telling me "This song can no longer be made into a ringtone."
Is there an expiration date on songs purchased from the iTunes store??? Incredibly lame if so.

  • Five minutes later"this song can no longer be made into a ringtone"

I downloaded a song that had the bell next to it. Five minutes later, it's downloaded, and I click the bell icon to make my ringtone. A box popped up that said "this song cannot be made into a ringtone- this song can no longer be made into a ringtone"
What's up with that??? I already had this song in my library. I only downloaded it again so that I could make the ringtone, and now it won't work. Anybody know what to do??
    Thanks, Kelly

I am having the SAME issue - I just bought a song 2 days ago that clearly had the bell icon next to it. Right after downloading the song I clicked "create ringtone" and received the same error message "this song can no longer be made into a ringtone". SO I called iPhone - they can't help...so I emailed iTunes and I am getting the total run around. I clearly explained this issue to which they have replied with FAQs on ringtones and articles on how to download ringtones, duh. I re-authorized my computer, restarted it, on and on...still nothing. It seems like iTunes support wants to ignore my true problem and just keep running me around in circles.

  • Song can no longer be made into a ringtone

I just purchased and downloaded a song. I go into store - create a ringtone and I get the message that this song can no longer be made into a ringtone.
Any ideas what this means and how to fix?
    Thanks,

When you download songs in iTunes only those with a little bell symbol are able to be made into a ringtone...
Or you can use DRM free media to make your own ringtones in Garage Band

  • I can no longer drag songs into my playlists.

I can no longer drag songs into my playlists. I drag them over and nothing happens.

I have restarted several times and I still can't drag and drop. My only option is to control click and then it gives me a drop down menu of options including putting into a playlist. I think this alternative *****! Drag and drop was a whole lot easier

  • How can I automatically incorporate 'shuffle' into a playlist?

I have a 20 GB IPOD full of music. I have playlists that I like to listen to 'shuffled' and then sometimes I like to listen to entire albums (from start to finish, not shuffled). I am tired of going to the IPOD settings and changing this each time.
Is there a way to incorporate the 'shuffle' feature into the playlist itself?
I know that I can do this in ITUNES - but it has no effect on my IPOD.
Please help ... and ... if this is not a feature perhaps it's one that's worth adding

"Is there a way to incorporate the 'shuffle' feature into the playlist itself?"
Nope. Songs are either shuffled or they're not. There is no way of specifying playlist only.
If you would like to see such a feature, suggest it here.

Is a few clicks back and forth from the shuffle setting really so tiresome?

  • Can't drag local files into a playlist

I like to drag local MP3s into a playlist.  I can't do that anymore.   I can see them in my Local Files and then drag them.. but it was so much easier to drag and drop the ones I want from my finder window.  Anybody else?

I've reverted to an old Spotify version - http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2015-03/12/how-to-downgrade-spotify - until they fix this and various other issues introduced with this update (although note - I'm having problems getting this downgrading to work on OSX).  All in all a very unfortunate turn of events, as picking such an app like Spotify to use to entirely manage one's music, create all one's playlists in it, etc, requires a huge amount trust in the system (since all the playlists one creates etc are somewhat stuck in that system), and this update breaks-down that trust by showing Spotify's willingness to break all kinds of features which many users depend on. I imagine I'll stick on the old version a while, then see if things have improved, and if not I'll have to pick an alternate solution, hopefully with a company that actually cares a little more about its users. These are by no means the first issues Spotify has created or failed to resolve regarding local file support (syncing them to devices has always been painful and hasn't fully worked for all my playlists for years despite a few fresh installs for example - compare this to google music which has cloud support for your own music), among other things, but definitely for me this was the straw that's broken the camel's back.

  • Can the subselect be made into a join?

    SELECT A.ROLEUSER, A.ROLENAME, B.OPID
    FROM PSROLEUSER A, PSOPRDEFN B
    WHERE B.OPRID = A.ROLEUSER
    AND A.ROLEUSER IN (SELECT C.ROLEUSER
    FROM PSROLEUSER C
    WHERE C.ROLENAME = 'AAA_DDD_TECHNICAL'

    Hi,
You can do something like this:
    SELECT  a.roleuser
    ,     a.rolename
    ,     b.opid
    FROM     psroleuser     a
    ,     psoprdefn     b
    ,     psroleuser     c
    WHERE     b.oprid          = a.roleuser
    AND      a.roleuser     = c.roleuser
    AND        c.rolename     = 'AAA_DDD_TECHNICAL'
;If the same row in a can match multiple rows in c, then this will cause duplicates in the result set.
You can make it SELECT DISTINCT , but that would eliminate any duplicate rows your existing query might have produced. If that's a problem, there are work-arounds, but I think they would all involve sub-queries (though not necessarily IN sub-queries), and I'm not hopeful that they would be any simpler or faster than what you're doing now.

After you open the iTunes application select "iTunes Store" in the left panel.
On the top right corner below the "Search iTunes Store" you should see your ID for the store. Click on it.
Enter your password and click on "View Account".
Click "Purchase History" and then click "Report a problem".
On your latest purchases you should now be able to click on the link "Report a problem", select the "Problem" and enter your "Comments".
