Can an contact person be independent of a customer master

Hi,
I need to create a contact person that will be used by multiple customer masters. Is it possible to set up an independent customer master and then reference it within the partner funcitons of an e.g. sold-to?

Hi,
You can create a contact person using the transaction code VAP1. This contact person can be assigned in the partner tab of customer master, you can assign it where ever you want.
Path: Logistics-->Sales and Distribution -->Master data ---> Business Partner --> Contact Person --Create contact person.

  • Contact Person for One Time Account Customer?

    We have set up a One Time Account Customer for use in Sales Orders, using a separate Account Group to normal customers. However when creating our sales orders, we normally put in the customer contact person in the partner tab, having created the contacts in VAP1. I have tried creating a test contact for the OTA (just something like Accounts), and it will not allow me for the Account Group OTA. How do I correct this?

    In the partner determination procedure assigned to this new Account Group (One Time Customer) please make sure to add the partner function Contact Person.
    I think for Sales header Partner determination procedure you already have the Partner function :Contact Person added.

    I tried xd02 it asks me for the customer , ifi click the search icon it opens up the search where thre is a tab named "Customer by Personnel Numbeer" when i try to search it does not show any employees even thoughi havemanyhired in HR

    after creating when i checked it is saying that documents entry is mandatory.

    Hi,
    The path is SPRO>Financial Accounting (New)>Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>Customer Accounts>Master Data>Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data>Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Customers)
    Select your account group
    Double click on it
    Double click on sales data
    Select Group sales or etc and double click on it
    Then change field status as you require and save it

    Dear All,
    We have successfully uploaded external business partner (Vendor) from ECC6 to SRM5.0  via BBPGETVD. So vendor is available in PPOMV_BBP.
    Now we would like to assign the contact person with user ID to this vendor so that he can logon to our system and update Bid.
    If we create contact person (employee) via "Manage Business Partner", system provides the option to create contact person and User ID under "Employee for Business Partner".
    But we can create contact person one by one, if our client have 600 vendors from ECC and already transferred to SRM.
    How to rapidly create and assign contact person to all vendors ?
    Who have any ideas for upload via text file or excel sheet please advice me.

    In SD Customer Master data, we can maintain Contact Person in General Data tab page.
    For my knowledge, we can not find u201CContact Personu201D field in ISM Business Partner u2013 General Data. Correct me if I am wrong.
    Mostly user enters the contact person details in u201CSearch Term 1/ 2 fieldu201D in Address tab page in ISM Business Partner u2013 General Data tab page. While creating ISM Billing Document for this Business Partner, system prints this contact person details in ISM Invoices.
    (Or)
    While creating ISM Order, user can maintain Contact Person name in Header Details(Click on u201CGo to >Header>Details>Purchase Order Data>Cont.Person)
    If you maintain Contact Person name in Header Details also, system print this contact person details in ISM Invoices.

  • Activate Contact Person Functionallity in Vendor master

    Hi Colleagues,
    We have an issue with Contact Person functionality in Vendor master, specifically with his activation in order to use that funtion menu (Goto -> General Data -> Contact Person). Actually this command is missing in our  system.
    Customizing nodes about contact person (IMG -> Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Vendor Master -> Contact Persons) specify as mandatory requisite set the system as a Retail SAP System.
    We analized the information and executed report GETSYSDEF and the system showed message SYSTEMSWITCH016 "System is set as a manufacturing system"
    Our SAP system is a mySAP ERP 5.0 with component SAP_APPL level 0021.
    We have several doubts related above explanations:
    Is the system able to be customized as a Retail system without loose or damage some actual component (his functionality) as manufacturing system?
    Which is the procedure to follow in order to activate Retail SAP System?
    Is enough to make settings on IMG node "Activation Switch for SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set" flagging on application "EA-RET" or in other hand, there are other additional or different steps to make?

    First thanks for your response.
    We don´t want to change manufacturing system for retail system, We try to find the way to add retail system to our actual manufacturing system only for get contact person functionality.
    We need to use that functionality on vendors at tx XK01 or tx XK02 / MK02, in order to link all vendor contacts making a validation of each one against a table Z containing prohibited values. If a contact person would exist in that table the system would show an error message.

  • How to synchronise contact person data from customer master to Bus partner.

    Can someone please explain how we can synchronize contact persons from customer master to business partner data.
    Are existing contact persons of customer are automatically created as Business partners(persons) when we do the synch.
    Can MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT be used for this purpose.
    I have some existing customers whose contact persons data is not already reflected in BP. How can I do that.

    Hi,
    I think the BP data will change with the changes in the critical fields of the customer master. Try chaning certain fields in the customers where you want the data to be updated. Hope that will work. Other wise you need to look out to do a mass update on the BP.

  • Including Contact person detials in MDG 6.1 - Customer

    Hello All,
    While Creating MDG - Customer, I need to include Contact person information.  I can see Contact Person tab in Customer FPM screen(Organisation type) but not able to relate to Business Partner ID.
    My specific questions are
    1. How to create BP/Customer with Contact Person?
    2. Do we need to create Contact Person first and then relate to BP/Customer?  If so, how i can i co-relate that ealier created Contact person with my current CR, which is being created for Customer.
    3. I need to create Customer that includes Contact person details under same CR.
    Please suggest me how to go forward?

    Looks like the Contact Person needs to be created in role BUP001 as a Business Partner first.
    Then after activating the Contacts functionality you will have the following subscreen in the UI:
    Clicking on the New button will allow you to select the Contact Person from the Busines Partners table and also to specify data you need like address, function, etc. See below:

  • Contact Person Re-assignment

    Hi,
    Currently i have, lets say a Contact Person code A assigned to Customer
    B. Then this Contact Person is being transfered to another site which
    in our system is represented as a different Customer Code.
    My question, is there a way to re-assign this Contact person Code from
    Customer Code B to lets say Customer Code C without needing to re-enter
    and re-assigning all the details of Contact Person code A to Customer C
    again in VAP01? Pls advice. Thanks.

    I think you are not talking in R/3 perspective. If so, you can post this in the relevant forum say CRM, then u will get quick answer for this.

  • Display relationships by contact persons

    Hello,
    if you display the master data from a company, you have an info block for relations where you can see the connected contact person to the company. at this positions its also possible to delete the relationship between the company and the contact person.
    If you display the master data from a contact person, the info block relations are not filled.
    Its possible to see the businessadress of the related companies, but its not possible to delete the connection between the contact person and the company from the master data of the contact person.
    So, somebody have a tip how we can make this possible?
    why i cant see the relationship to the company in the info block relations at the contact persons?

    Hi gurus, in CRM Web UI Account Search there is an option to merge differents accounts into a single one. The resulting account contains the information of all accounts merged.     Yes, this is possible, but not within the Contact Person Search.
    In the Contact Person Search you will get a list of Contact Person Relationships. One Business Partner can have multiple Contact Person Relationships and you will get multiple entries in the Search-Result-List but it is one single Business Partner with multiple Contact Person Relationships.
    The way you can merge Contact Person is within the Search-Result-List for Individual Accounts.
    Just search for Individual Accounts with the Role "Contact Person" and/or with the Relationship Type "Is Contact Person for".
    Now you will get a list of Individual Accounts and you can select the potential duplicates to create a cleansing case.
    The Master Record will get all Contact Person Relationships of the involved Business Partners after the Merge Process.
