Hy !
Yes, as long as the power supply has the requirements as needed (maybe you need a new one or an adapter).
Depends on the model - see here.

Printopia is another option but be aware that since these solutions effectively act as a print server and AirPrint receiver, they require a computer to be running on the same WiFi network.
Canon also has a couple of apps in the App Store that might facilitate this on non-AirPrint printers. Check out...

you can't use scenes in html5 projects.
that's also no significant limitation because there's never a situation (afaik) where you need to use scenes.  they are strictly a convenience for designers.
i don't know any programmers that use scenes.

  • Apparently my Mac is too old now to sync with newer products. How do upgrade the software/hardware so i can keep up to date. I love my mac and dont want to buy a new one. Is it possible?

Help! I am struggling and im really not a wizz with technology. I must have missed the morph into the new world! I have a macbook (i think!) and i found that im still running off the version 10.5.8. I have just plugged in my new ipad, and tried to get it synced with Itunes and it said i needed a newer version.
Am i able to upgrade to a newer version and if so, how do i do it...i really dont want to throw out this computer because it is awesome...can someone please help me?

To be able to connect with the devices that need a newer version of iTunes, you are first going to need to upgrade you OS X.  To do this from where you are at, first you need to make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for OS X Snow Leopard which you can find here http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 and then after verifying that it can, you then need to order the Snow Leopard CD from Apple to do the upgrade.  You can purchase the CD from them for $19.99 and when it gets to your house, you can insert the CD in the drive and press the "C" key while booting your computer.  Then you'll get the install wizard from the CD which will give you directions you need to install Snow Leopard on your computer.  After getting that installed, make sure you update the software on your computer and it will get you what you need to be able to Sync your devices.  After you get Snow Leopard installed, if you wanted to go further you could then upgrade to 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion if your computer can handle those as well, and you can do that right from the App Store that will be available to you from Snow Leopard and you don't have to order a CD for those.

  • How can I preserve my bookmarks when I update my firefox? I have a lot of bookmarks and do not want to go through one by one re adding them afetr an update.

Every time I update FireFox I have to re enter all my bookmarks. It is a royal pain and because of that, I have not updated my software for the past several update cycles. I am experiencing crashes to the browser more frequently now and would like to update but ....

    Hi djleong,
The newer versions of Firefox (at least for me) have not had these issues. Either way, it is always a good idea to back up your personal information whenever you are attempting something like this. You should check out [[Backing up your information]] for details.
After the update, you might want to check out this list of [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/common-questions-after-upgrading-firefox-36 common questions after updating] as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

I have The last version of the MAC GT 4 desktop, don't intend to buy a new one just so I can upgrade to Firefox 4 - so what alternative do I have - keep using Firefox3.6 with no support or switch to another Browser?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Firefox 3.6 is still being supported.

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.

Will an iPhone bought in America work in Ireland

No, there are plenty of places to get it HACKED.
THE ONLY OFFICIAL AND PERMANENT WAY TO UNLOCK A CARRIER LOCKED IPHONE IS TO REQUEST THE UNLOCK THROUGH THE CARRIER IT IS LOCKED TO.
That's it, the only way.  Any other way involves means not officially sanctioned by Apple (nor the carriers officially selling iPhones), will void your warranty, risks permanently damaging your iPhone, and it will revert back to locked whenever you try to upgrade the firmware later on.

You need to delete some files.  Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are.  Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

  • Hi I bought the oxford dictionary app a while ago and it worked fine . Now with the new iOS it starts and closes instantly. I don't want to buy it again. Who can I turn to?

Hi I bought the oxford dictionary app a while ago and it worked fine . Now with the new iOS it starts and closes instantly. I don't want to buy it again. Who can I turn to?

Try closing the app via the device's multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open the app : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
If the app still doesn't work then try deleting the app from your device and redownload it (assuming that it's still in the store) via the Purchased tab in the App Store app - or resync it from your computer's iTunes (if you don't have a copy of the app in the Apps part of your computer's iTunes library then copy it over via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases before deleting it).
If that also doesn't get it to work then contact the developer.

  • I have an ipod classic 6th generation which has a 160gb MK1626GCB HDD in it. This drive has failed so I bought a new one. I don't know how I've managed it but I've ended up with a 160gb MK1634GAL. Can I just get a different ribbon so it fits?

Hello I hope somebody can help. I have an ipod classic 6th generation which has a 160gb MK1626GCB HDD in it. This drive has failed so I bought a new one. I don't know how I've managed it but I've ended up with a 160gb MK1634GAL. The connectors on the hdds are different on the hdd end but look the same on the mb end. Can I just get a different ribbon so it fits? Ive looked for one and have found a couple of different ones and the seem to be specific to the ipod although I cannot find one specific for the 160g. Can anyone shed some light onto this?

Your computer is called an iMac.
Did you turn proxies on?  If so, you should turn them off.

I want to buy a new mac.  Would a 21.5 inch Imac run Aperture 3 with 4GB or ram until I can upgrade to 8GB?  And would the stock 512mb video card be fine.

davidfromdartmouth wrote:Would a 21.5 inch Imac run Aperture 3 with 4GB or ram until I can upgrade to 8GB?
Specifically, after you buy a Mac test for RAM needs by calculating page outs as described below. The good news is that RAM is cheap enough that every Aperture user who can should upgrade to at least 8 GB RAM.
And would the stock 512mb video card be fine.
All 2011 Macs will "run" Aperture, but lesser CPUs and/or lesser GPUs will provide lesser performance. What "fine" is depends on your workflow and how demanding you are. There are some folks here happy with the power of the box you suggest.
    GENERIC UPGRADE ADVICE
Apologies in advance to those for whom this info is redundant.
Some general guidelines for operation of heavy graphics applications (specifically Aperture):
    • Only the strongest Macs will provide the strongest operation. Owners of weaker boxes (CPU, GPU, i/o, RAM) or older boxes will experience lesser performance.
    • There is a huge difference in hardware needs among workflows. A heavy pro workflow will only work best on a top well-equipped modern box.
    • As RAM prices continually fall RAM needs will continually grow. This has been true since the beginning of computing.
OS X has enabled Photoshop, for instance, to take advantage of at least 32 GB RAM for many years even though 32-bit operation limited direct RAM access to ~3 GB RAM.
    • All computers/OSs/workflows are different. Each individual user needs to carefully evaluate (meaning see what the early adopters report) workflow and hardware operation BEFORE upgrading any application or OS.
    • Hardware upgrades should be planned for always-increasing future OS/application demands, not just for today. After all, a computer purchased today is used for the next 3 years, not last year.
    • SSDs rock.  All users, all apps will benefit from using a solid state drive as the boot/apps drive. Strongly recommended. RAM-challenged setups will additionally benefit from 10x faster page outs.
    • All users should regularly evaluate their workflows by checking the Page Outs number under System Memory on the Activity Monitor app before starting a work session; then rechecking after working. If the page outs number increased significantly during operation the workflow is RAM-starved and steps should be taken, such as increasing RAM or restarting and running only one app at a time - - or switching from 64-bit operation to 32-bit operation. [Note: this is a manual calculation of any change in page outs. Ignore the cute pie charts, page ins, etc.]

  • HT201412 My Ipad quit working - it's 2 years old.  I called Apple and they basically told me that it's done.  I can pay 249.00 to get a reburbished Ipad 1, or buy a new one.  I want to know why it died?  They mentione it could be the hard drive.

My Ipad 1 quit working after 2 years.  Was never dropped, abused, etc.  Just quit the other night.  Went to the Apple store, called the support line and they tell me that since the warranty is up I can pay 249.00 for a refurbished Ipad or buy a new one.  Not happy at all.  I want to know why it quit.  The person I talked to at Support says he doesn't know what happened.  He says it sounds like my hard drive crashed.  ANyone else have this problem?  I am so mad.

If the tech you talked to said anything about a "hard drive", he was completely ignorant or misspeaking rather badly. The iPads have no hard drive; the storage is all solid state. You may wish to talk to another technician, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there's one near you, and confirm the diagnosis of a hardware failure.
If you've confirmed that it is indeed a hardware failure, then you can pay the replacement price, find an independent iPad service shop and see if they can do a repair for less, or buy a new iPad. If it were me I would put the money toward a new, or at least newer, iPad rather than pay the replacement charge. You can get some good deals on refurbished iPad 2 and third-generation iPads from the Apple Store, any of which will run the most current versions of iOS, something which the first-gen iPad will not, and would come with a full warranty (which could be extended to two years with AppleCare).
As to why your iPad failed, it's impossible to say with any certainty. The circuitry could have had a tiny flaw that finally failed, or the iPad could have received a static shock, something quite common in many areas in the winter when the air is dry.  Sorry it happend to you, but anything can fail.
    Regards.
