Can an image be uploaded into a fillable pdf?

In creating a fillable pdf document is there a way to allow an image to be uploaded onto the document?

OK, there is a method that you can use to import an image into a form with Reader 11, but it has to first be converted to PDF, which is relatively easy to do these days. It involves using a simple JavaScript as discussed here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4943623
That's really just the minimum and you would typically add additional code to detect what PDF viewer is being used and warn the user if it's not sufficent.
Here's another thread with more discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/743823
The alternative is to create an XFA form in LiveCycle Deisgner, which allows an image field that can be used to import a JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or GIF. It will work with previous versions of Reader. LiveCycle Designer came with the Windows version of Acrobat Pro prior to Acrobat 11, but is a separate product now.

  • When I try to convert an existing Word intake form into a fillable PDF, I get an unexpected error.

When I try to convert an existing Word intake form into a fillable PDF, I get an unexpected error message and it will not convert.  I am using Adobe XI Pro.  Any thoughts on why this is occuring.  I would like to avoid creating an entire new form from scratch.  If this doesn't work, I will not be purchasing the full version of the software as none of my Word files seem to be converting.

I used the document which I downloaded from Adobe called "Convert and existing form into a fillable PDF form with Adobe Acrobat XI".
At tope right , Tools pane
Open the Forms panel, Click Create
Select Existing Document and click Next
    Choose Word file
Error: "An unexpected error occurred. PDF Maker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."
I have tried several of my forms and none of them work.  There is no word attachment option to show you an example.
    Thanks

Can you convert this file into good searchable pdf file: Medical Terminology- A Short Course.azw4

I don't think that Adobe offers any software to convert .azw4 files.  Search Google for alternate converters.

  • How to reduce size of image while uploading it in livecycle pdf.

    Hi,
I have created a pdf with Image field using live cycle designer.
I have selected "Sizing: Scale Image to fit Rectangle".
Now the problem is the pdf which i have created is 1.5MB and if i import or upload a 2.5MB image in image field then the size of pdf becomes 6MB.
I have around 20 image fields in my pdf report , so if people keep uploading high resolution images in the pdf then the pdf becomes more then 15MB, slow and unmanagable.
Is there any way by which even if I upload a 5MB image the it should automatically reduce image size?
As the users does not bother to reduce the size of image they just upload high resolution and large size image in pdf.
Please tell me the way through which i can reduce the image size automatically while uploading.
    Regards,
    Kartik Shrivastava

  • Can't use touchscreen on my exported fillable pdf using my HP W8 tablet

I've used FormsCentral to create and then export fillable pdf - (Tablet is WIFI only and sometimes I don't have a connection - hence I can't use it online all the time so I've exported as a pdf) - anyway. Tablet is Windows 8.1 Pro, 64bit, HP EliteTab 900. My problem is that unless I have my keypad plumbed in (which works fine) - I can't get the PDF to prompt for the onscreen keypad when I click on the open text fields. I don't always have the keypad on me - not practical for tablet use. Is there a setting or option or a different reader I should be using??

    Hi;
I am going to assume by the Windows 8/8.1 Adobe Touch app you mean "Adobe Reader Touch" (the full screen Metro app as opposed to traditional desktop application).
If you do indeed mean the "Metro" version of Reader for Windows 8/8.1 devices you can post your issue in the related forum here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_reader_forums/metro
I do not know why this isn't working in the Reader Metro, or if it is a feature that has been added there yet or not...  I am inquiring to find out.  In the mean time your crew members can always use the "desktop" Adobe Reader (Free download get.adobe.com/reader/) and the Submit button using the Email method will work from there.
    Thanks,

  • Insert a graphic into a fillable pdf

I used WordPerfect X7 to create a fillable PDF timesheet for my son to email to his employer. The sheet requires a signature on each line and the number of days he works each week is flexible. I have created  a jpg file containing his signature. Is there a way to set up the fillable PDF to add the graphic to each line as it is needed?

What application are they using to fill in the form? If Reader then they can use the Place Signature tool.

  • How can I change the margins on a fillable PDF

I am looking to change the margins on a fillable PDF that is required by the CRA because page 2 of 10 is blank. If I were to print it and send it off with the blank page it will get sent back as 'not completed properly'
Any ideas on how to get rid of the blank page???

Oh I understand that it is free. I just don't understand why a fillable document that is required by a government agency such as the CRA has a blank page in it and the program they insist you use to fill out the form cannot remove that blank page. That's where my annoyance lies.

  • I am migrating from an old computer to a new one.  Is there a way to move PSCC with all my actions and preferences without having to redo them one at a time?  Can it all be uploaded into the cloud and then redownloaded and, if so, how?  Thank you.

All my image files are on externals, so my only folder to move regarding this would be Photoshop and Lightroom.

You need to install Photoshop on your new machine.  Once installed you can sync you new installation with your old cc install.  If your assets and Photoshop add-ons are on the external drive your done if you link them into you Photoshop paths.  I prefer to copy my Photoshop add-on like Plug-ins and Scripts to  the boot disk and link then in there. Adobe removed additional plug-in folder from preferences and never had an additional script folder support.  Using Files system links work just fine.  I have CS2, CS6, CC and CC 2014,  They all share the same Plug-ins and Scripts.  Some do not work in CS2 because they user new features not in CS2.

  • Can Data Templates be 'uploaded' into BI Pub?

I've developed several data templates which I need to support a given report.
Up to this point I've either edited/developed them within the BI Pub tool's Data Template editor or cut-n-paste them to here from another editor.
This works, but, is it possible to upload them into the tool, as you can for report layouts, and associate them with the data model?
This would definetly be needed for version control of anything being sent to a customer or production environment.
    ThankX,
    Ron

    Tim,
We're still in the process of evaluating reporting tools which provide our customers some control over the report format and we're at least a year away from deliveing anything. But at least it sounds like I can check this issue of my list.
    ThankX again,

  • Can i fill in and save downloaded fillable pdf files???

Does anyone know if I can fill in and save pdf forms that were downloaded from the internet without owning Adobe Acrobat 7.0???
I used to have Acrobat 5.0 on my Windows based system - however on the MAC system I have not installed the Acrobat software (did not get the MAC version yet)
Preview allows me to open it but can not enter values into the fields!!!!
    Any help appreciated...............
    PowerBookG4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Thank you both of you for the ideas - just tried it yes I filled in part of the form in Preview then saved it as post script - then the program tries to convert it back to PDF and displays it in Preview - but the second time Preview did not let me continue to fill in the form. Since the forms need to be filled in partially first and then later either readjusted or additional info provided - this system will not work without too much hassle.
I am waiting now for Adobe to get back to me to see if they will allow me to purchase the upgrade package - although my previous version was for Windows.

  • Can I put my ibook into word or pdf format?

Is there any way to turn my transfer my ibooks to word and such and get them in a .doc or .pdf format?

Are these freely available (non-DRM locked) iBooks?  Any iBook sold for fee in the iBooks store is almost certain to be DRM locked to Apple's iBook format and that cannot be changed.
Non-DRM protected, copy-right free electronic books should not be locked and so can be format converted if you buy or find the right software to convert them (there are free programs to convert copyright free *.epub books to pdf, for example).

  • Fillable PDF form template?

    Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me out on a little problem I am having with Adobe Pro, LiveCycle Designer.  I am trying to create fillable PDF office forms.  I have succeeded as far as getting the forms fillable... However, I was wondering if it is possible to turn that fillable PDFs into templates? Meaning, it would automatically ask the user to "save as" rather than saving to the original document.  If there is not a way to turn the document into a "template," then, how can I disable the saving feature on the form.  These forms are filled out by office employees but then given to the client which is why I am so concerned about the saving feature.
Here the the problem we are running into:  If one of our employee uses the a pdf form, they automatically save the information.  I guess its out of habit.  Then, another employee will use the same form and (sometimes) end up missing information that needed to be deleted from the prior use.  Sometimes, the client will get the completed form with the wrong information.  It always end with
confusion and other issues.  I have tried asking office employees to stop saving the information after using the form but that doesnt seem to be working out very well.
I have also tried adding "permissions" to the form which covers the printing & editing rights BUT it also allows the user to save the document which is the exact opposite to what I want...
I am a bit lost.. I tried googling as well but I havent found another person with the same question. Maybe, I am just goggling the wrong question. OR, maybe, I am setting up the permissions incorrectly. Who knows!
So this image I uploaded is a fillable PDF receipt that we use to email or mail out to the client with a copy of their receipt.  For this, I would like the person to be able to fill it in but not able to save it OR have adobe ask them to save as instead of just saving the information to the original file.
Any help will be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thank you!

    Hi GJen900,

  • Can't see info typed into fillable pdf: See Below

I created pdf forms using adobe forms central.
)    I have the pdf I created using FormsCentral on my desktop
)    I do a file save as pdf, so I can change the name of the document while still saving my blank original pdf document.
)    I write into my fillable saved as pdf doc and then email it to a coworker. The file size at this point is around 67 KB
)    This coworker opens up file and does a save as so they can rename it and save it to their desktop.
)    This coworker than adds information to the document by tying into the fillable pdf doc.
)    They email the document back to me
)    When I receive the document it is now 1 MB, Also I can only see what I wrote into the doc before I emailed it to her. However if I print the document everything she typed in shows up on the printed document. Or If I click in each field that you can type in the words or numbers she typed in show up but only in the field I’m clicking my mouse in
)    My question is would you say this is a user issue or an issue with the form itself, perhaps a bug.

Hey George, I emailed you the pdf docs. One using Windows Reader and One using Adobe Reader. It does appear that the fillable pdf docs do not work very well with windows reader. Windows Reader makes the file size much bigger and doesn't let people who don't use windows view info put into the file unless you print the doc or click in each space to view whats written. It does appear that the drop down menus and check boxes work in both adobe reader and windows reader.
    Thanks,
