Can an iPod download all files?

I'm considering buying an iPod touch. I need it to have a full functioning browser that can surf the web and download all file types and temporarily store them on the iPod's storage and then by virtue of connecting it to a computer off-load said files to that computer. PDA functions are more important than music and video though active streaming is cool.
Oh, and obviouly it must be fully WiFi capable.
Does the iPod do this?
Or maybe the iPhone does this (WiFi or via phone service)?

Can't save/download pages/files in FF 12.

A few days ago, my good old FF (12) stopped downloading and saving. Actually, in the download screen it looks as if it was downloaded (shows in its full size in the Download screen), but the 'open' option is gray and it can't be found in the download folder.
Also, when using 'save as' for web pages, only the html folder (images, etc.) is found where saved, but its 'mate' (the htm file) is not, and the 'open' option (on download screen) is gray.
I deleted the mimetype.rdf and the downloads.sqlite files;
I disabled all the relevant FF addons, changed downloading folder etc.--- nothing helps.
Do you have any idea?

Have you searched for the files in other locations?? It looks like an external Windows program, or perhaps a Firefox add-on is automatically transferring the files to another predefined location, or deleting the files. For some reason when I download the firefox browser from the 'official' mozilla site, it is downloading to my desktop and its files to my desktop even though safari is set to download all files into applications. How do I change this?

When I download firefox from the official mozilla site on my imac it is downloading its files to my desktop, covering my desktop in junk and I can't get rid of it as it is part of the browser. Why is it doing this? Why isn't it downloading to the right place?

Usually the icon on a file will provide indication of hte application used to open it. Highlight the file in Finder and Get Info on it. It should say what is used to open it.
iTunes will not play all file formats. Even some formats such as mp3 which it should in theory play it will not play all versions of the format. Those mp3s may play okay in Quicktime but the file has some small aspect to it which iTunes will not recognize.

Why can't I download large files on Windows 7 in Bootcamp?

I am running Bootcamp on a New iMac running Lion. Everything on the Apple side of my partition works brilliantly. I need Windows to run some old programs which are not available to Mac.
I successfully loaded Windows 7 on Bootcamp after many attempts at downloading the Windows Support files. But now everything works fine until I try to download a file of more than about 2mb. I tried downloading HP printer drivers and Chrome and Firefox, without success. Thinking it must be IE8, I downloaded Firefox onto a Flash drive and installed. The problem still persists in Firefox. I have tried installing a new version of raspppoe.sys as suggested by one internet resource, but to no avail.
When attempting to download in Firefox, one has the useful option of being able to pause and resume a download- so I have successfully downloaded Adobe Reader X (50.2 Mb) but had to pause and resume the download about 200 times. It downloads between 0 and 1.5Mb on each resume session and took over an hour in total. Can anyone help, I’m going nearly mad (my Mrs thinks I have already)
The only conflict I can see is that my isp router settings are for pppoa whereas Windows 7 does not seem to support this protocol, using pppoe instead.

Windows needs about 50GB of room, plus some breathing space.

Download all files from a specific application server directory to Local pc

I have a requirement of downloading all the files from an application server directory to a local pc.
I know how to download a single file from an application server at a time provided the file name is known.
But my requirement is to download all the files in that particulary directory, because I dont know how many files were created in that directory and what are their names.
Please kindly provide the solution.

How can I remove the 'all files' pattern in the file dialog?

Is it possible to remove the *.* pattern from the file dialog? I want my users to only see my own made patterns...

you can add custom patterns with the pattern input, but you cannot remove the "All files (*.*)" pattern. To remove it was the question.
But I'm sorry I have also no solution to this.

I have a few MLB.com videos from iTunes, but some of the video pixelates and would be considered substandard. Can I delete the file from my iTunes and re-download the file at no cost?

Contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them. If the problem is in the copy they got from MLB, then they'll have to try and get a new copy which may take some time.

Why can I not download a file in Safari

I've got an eMail from WeTransfer.com which contains a link to download a video file. However, when I click on the link, Safari takes me to the WeTransfer site but it won't actually download the file - I have an icon in the middle of the screen showing a downward pointing arrow with a oblique line across it. What you can download via Safari is limited, and as the iPad doesn't have a 'file system' like a 'normal' computer, everything has to be stored within an app e.g. you can download PDFs and epubs to the iBooks app, but you can't download videos to the built-in Videos app

Your first problem is to find a source of the data. A quick search suggested the
Universal Postal Union website. You would have to try downloading their database and pay around with it to see if it is useful to you.
Once you have found your data, you will need to decide if it is convenient for your program to download and use at run time, or if you need to download all the data in advance and format it in a way to make it easier for your program to use.

Receiver can't use "download all"

I sent today 31 pictures through a "public link" to some people.
all of them could click on the link and see the pictures.
but the blue button on the top right "download all" doesn't do nothing. no download is starting.
if you click on each photo --> then you can download each ... but this is too complicated if you want to have all of them downloaded.
why the "download all" is not working?

Try using different browser.
Most probably pop up blocker will be blocking this.

Can't expand downloaded zip-files

I download zip files and can't expand them. If I compress my own files, they are easily expanded. The error message reads: Unable to unarchive "document.zip" into "Desktop". (Error 1 - Operation not permitted.)
I have tried to create a folder and drop the zipped file there and expand it. Checked permission, which are read & write.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, I just don't know for sure as I never use the archive function.
As most of my stuff is either graphics or movies I have a deep mistrust of anything that might affect quality!
