Can an officejet 6500a be upgraded for duplex printing
I have an Officejet 6500a without the duplex option. Can I upgarde this printer by simple buying and installing the duplexer? Many thanks ...
For the E710a printer CN555a, the duplexer is not an option. It may physically attach but is not designed to work with that particular model.

Wireless configuration for HP OfficeJet 6500A plus All-In-One printer on Ubuntu 10.04
I have bought a HP OfficeJet 6500A plus All-In-One printer CN557A, which I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64-bit as a wireless network printer.
Before i bought i checked compatibility on www.hplipopensource.org and www.openprinting.org, and all was in order.
The machine is autodetected and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but i have not managed to get it to work as a wireless printer.
This is what I did:
I configured the printer on the wireless network (through the printer interface), and it connects. It prints out a "Wireless Network Test Report", and everything works. I can ping to its local ip adress, and access it through the browser. HP eprint also works.
I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognise the device.
I ran 'hp-check', which gave no errors or warnings:

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

I then ran 'sudo hp-setup', chose the device (which was detected), chose my wireless network, entered the wireless security key. On the configuration results dialog I get two messages:
"Your printer has been succesfully configured on the wireless network. You may now unplug the USB cable"
and
"The Ethernet cable is plugged in which will prevent you from connecting to a wireless network. To connect wirelessly, remove the cable and try again. (VSA000)"
There is no ethernet cable plugged in, so i can't remove it. I unplug the USB cable and click 'finish'. This makes the 'hp-setup'-dialog start over again, and the printer has not been installed.
In the terminal i have the following:
tjoff@mek-403-jakbo-01:~$ sudo hp-setup

This question was solved.
View Solution.A friendly soul on ubuntuforums pointed out to me, that the wireless configuration is only necessary when the printer is NOT connected to a (W)LAN. So all I really had to do was to configure the printer in the CUPS administation page, and it worked. Problem solved. Silly me.

Where can I find the latest upgrades for Crystal Reports 2008
Hello all
My question is rather simple, I need to know. Where can I find the latest upgrades for:
1) Crystal Reports 2008 Merge Modules
2) Crystal Reports 2008 Runtimes.
Are they incremental upgrades ????
Thanks in advance..
ADrián.-Downloads page is here:

[This|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReports2008-VersionandDownloadinformationforSPsand+FPs] wiki tracks latest SPs and FPs with download links.
[This|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567] wiki has links to runtime (I believe I have not updated this for FP 2.5 yet, but the downloads page has these)
And yes, they are incremental.

I RECIVED AN EMAIL FROM ADOBE AS : As good will gesture, we can help you with the upgrade for PSE 13. We would request you to place the order for Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 as an upgrade and then we will provide you the full version serial number for the same product against the new upgrade order" IS THIS UPGRADE FREE AND WHAT SHOULD I DO, HOW CAN I HAVE THIS UPGRADE?
Compare with on-line stores. The full version is often cheaper than Adobe's upgrade price.
See this example from Amazon, but check pricing in your own region.

Drivers for duplex printing?
does anyone know how to find drivers for duplex printing?
If your printer has the ability to shuffle the pages and print on both sides in one pass, duplexing is in the appropriate Driver for your Printer.
If your printer cannot already do this, you need to do part of it manually, it takes a lot of fiddling, but the key features required are the ability to Print:
• Odd Pages
• Even Pages
• specified pages in reverse order.
Every standard Mac OS X printer Driver supports these already.
Reverse Order is a checkbox on the Layout menu on your "Print" page.
Odd or even or all is an option on the Paper Handling menu in your "Print" page.
For my face-up feeding, face-down delivering Printer, I use a little saying to help me remember:
"First, print to Odd pages evenly (in normal order) [then shuffle Output to Input for the second side]
Then, print the Even Pages Oddly (in Reverse order) [and if the paper does not jam, fronts and backs will be correct]"
Your procedure will probably be different. I had to draw myself a lot of little diagrams of stacks of paper to figure it all out, and without my little saying, I would have to find that page of drawings (or re-create it from fundamental principles) to be able to print on both sides. -
ITunes can't download the software upgrade for my Ipod
I have a new Ipod Nano 8GB. When I connected to Itunes it tells me that there is a new software update available for it (I think it was version 1.1). ITunes then tries to download it.
The trouble is that I don't have broadband, and have no plans at present. My dial-up connection took over 3 hours to download ITunes when I first got the Ipod. I would be quite happy to let it take as long as that to download the software upgrade for the nano but I tried several times and the line kept dropping.
Is it available anywhere as a stand-alone download? (I can download using another machine I have access to which cannot have itunes installed on it)
Thanks,
StewartIf y are getting an error that yu can't contact the update server then:

I have new iMac with Lion installed; can I get a free upgrade for my MacBook Pro?
Hello
I recently bought a 27" iMac with Lion installed. Should I be able to download the upgrade for my MacBook Pro without paying. If so what should I do. If I go to the App Store I'll end up paying £20.99
Any help gratefully received
margaretMargaret,
No you will need to purchase the upgrade. However if you own other Macs you want to upgrade once you have purchased Lion then you can upgrade the additional machines. Of course the additional machines must be using the same Apple ID. As long as the additional machine's meet the minimum system requirements listed below you are all set.
General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -
I have been trying to access the itunes store for a week now but can not get past the screen to upgrade for free. I do not want to upgrade, I tried but can not install the free upgrade because I am using 10.2.2. I do not want to upgrade I just want to get to the itunes store... how do I get past this screen? There used to be an option to skip the upgrade.
I have an iMac G5 with a pre-Intel processor. My current OS is 10.4.1. When I open my iTunes store function, I get an upgrade to iTunes 10.5 page that does not allow me the opportunity to refuse the recommended upgrade and I don't want it because my processor is not the Intel processor. I can't get past this page to access the iTunes store. I can't find iTunes 9.2.1 online to download, if that is the only solution. I can't believe Apple is forcing me to purchase a new iMac in order to continue using iTunes on my current iMac. I'd like a good answer and solution to this problem.

How can you do an alternate upgrade for AT&T on the Iphone 5 preorder?
After doing a test trial Iphone order of a 4s, I noticed there is no way to select alternate upgrade or a way to use an available upgrade for one line on another line withing the same AT&T account. Is this something that can be done over the phone or online by Apple at all? My concern truly emerges from my intent to preorder the Iphone 5 on the 14th.
What does this have to do with using an iPhone in an enterprise environment?

ReportViewer Control Layout for Duplex Printing
I have been looking around for a solution to this. What I need to do is print out postcards in Landscape mode in a 2x2 format. With careful sizing of the tablix control and the Body, I have accomplished this such that it will print this way.
The problem is that the reverse side of the page needs to contain a canned message.
There doesn't seem to be any way to control what goes on the reverse side, as only the header and footer have access to the PageNumber.
It's almost as if I need a second Body to the report or something, but I doubt that this is allowed in the .RDLC definition.
Any assistance here would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.I doubt, too.
I guess the canned messages are the same,so,why not print the back first? -
