Can an OS 10.3 PDC have an NT 4.0 BDC??

I'm trying to find the best and safest way to upgrade my 10.3.9 XServe to 10.4. This box serves as the PDC for my approximately 150 Windows clients.
The last time I tried to do this, it was a disaster. The upgrade to 10.4 didn't work. And a clean install of 10.4 made my Windows clients see the identically named domain as a brand-NEW domain, meaning that new desktops, profiles, etc. were created for the Windows users.
Eventually, I gave up, went back to my 10.3.9 system clone, and have been waiting for more information to surface. However, I have not been able to get in contact with ANYONE who has upgraded a 10.3.9 PDC to 10.4.
Of course, one of the main reasons to upgrade would be to have the ability to have a second 10.4 machine as a Backup Domain Controller; if I had a BDC, my domain identification would be preserved even if one machine went down completely.
So my new, related question is this: can a Windows NT 4.0 box serve as a BDC to an OS 10.3.9 PDC? It seems remarkably stupid and counter-productive to build an NT4 box just for this purpose; yet if I can get confirmation for this, I will surely do so.
If anyone knows if this is doable, or knows a better way I can upgrade my XServe PDC without f*ing up the Windows domain identification, I would love to hear from you.

I will answer my own question. This cannot be done. Although NT 4.0 doesn't report an error during setup when you assign it to the BDC role, it never successfully replicates security info from the OS X PDC.
The final stage in setup, "replicating security database" will run infinitely. If you cancel it and reboot the PC, no user can log on. The security info simply does not replicate between an OS X PDC and an NT 4 BDC.

No way around this. Your phone has to be restored using a computer running iTunes. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I have a 1st gen iPhone that I just updated the software to 2.0.2
Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.
Then it reverts back to the home screen. Tried restarting, haven't tried restoring, thought I'd look here first.

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

I have the same problem and unfortunately the only way to get an iCloud ID is to set one up on an Apple device that uses the Apple OS opperating system. If you don't own one, or can't qfford one, then you are simply shut out of using the iCloud. Does it suck? Yes. Is there any solution other than buying an Apple device? No.

    * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
    * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
    * DVD drive for installation
    * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

As a test, shut down your computer and disconnect ALL USB devices. Do this procedure to Reset the shuffle

Start up computer with nothing connected, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if it's not a laptop). Run iTunes. Connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer. See if there's any improvement,
If the shuffle is now recognized, there may have been a USB device conflict previously, or maybe all of the devices connected at the same time overloads the USB bus (for power). An iPod charges its battery while connected, so it is a high-power USB device.

It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:

Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

Ah, I see want you mean. This might not be practical for you, but if you select one instance of the highlighted text and add a [space] to the little sticky note, all of the highlighted text on that page will appear in the summary.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Firefox won't open when I click on the icon. I've tried uninstalling so that I can reinstall, but it says I have to close firefox (which isn't open), so I'm stuck.

The problem: Firefox won't open when I click on the program.
Solutions tried: #1) I tried to uninstall the program so that I can download it again, but the screen shows the message "firefox must be clsoed.. to proceed with installation". However, firefox is not open.
#2) I tried to download firefox, thinking that possibly it would update and solve the problem. However, I get the same error message that "firefox must be clsoed.. to proceed with installation" Problem is that firefox is not open.
I've done a screen shot, so you can see that I do not have the firefox browser open.

Try contacting iTunes via email to check if there is an issue with the account. go to apple.com/support/itunes
Click on iTunes Store account and billing and select inquiries. On the right side click on "email us".
Before doing that trying viewing your account information first. Open the iTunes on you mac, look at the menu and select store and select view my account. Try removing the card (this is only applicable if you don't have a pending charges with iTunes) and hit done. Sign out, quit iTunes and sign back in and try updating the apps again.
