Can animated graphics be used?

I love iWeb, but I don't know if "animated graphics" can be used.  If this is possible, please provide information.
RJohnson

Yes.  Just drag the animated gif file onto the page and place where you want it.

  • How can I display an animated graphic in a PDF file or slide show?

    I have a simple animated graphic comprising eight layers in a PSD file created in Photoshop. Can I create a version of this which can be included in a PDF file or a slideshow. I do not want to display it on the web. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    I'm confused now. Just how would an animated GIF be different from an animated PSD (if there IS such a thing). Sounds like your best bet would be to use the PSD to make an SWF and inport THAT to the PDF, because you can use an SWF in a PDF and it will play.

    CS3 be used for preparation of graphic for printing or what are the

    Fireworks does not operate or export in CMYK color space. It
    was
    developed for screen images only, and operates and exports in
    RGB color
    space. It is not recommended that you use it in preparation
    of images
    for print. You mentioned that you don't like photoshop. You
    might like
    Illustrator better.

  • Trying to move a graphics object using buttons.

    Hello, im fairly new to GUI's. Anyway I have 1 class which makes my main JFrame, then I have another 2 classes, one to draw a lil square graphics component (which iwanna move around) which is placed in the center of my main frame and then another class to draw a Buttonpanel with my buttons on which is placed at the bottom of my main frame.
    I have then made an event handling class which implements ActionListner, I am confused at how I can get the graphics object moving, and where I need to place the updateGUI() method which the actionPerformed method calls from inside the event handling class.
    I am aware you can repaint() graphics and assume this would be used, does anyone have a good example of something simular being done or could post any help or code to aid me, thanks!

    Yeah.. here's an example of custom painting on a JPanel with a box. I used a mouse as it was easier for me to setup than a nice button panel on the side.
    Anyways... it should make it pretty clear how to get everything setup, just add a button panel on the side. and use it to move the box instead of the mouse.

  • Create Attachment within Graphical Mapping using UDF

    Hi!
    We want to create an attachment witihn a graphical mapping using an UDF function.
    I use that function:
    public String addAttachment(String filename, String mimeType, String content, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
         BASE64Decoder decoder=new BASE64Decoder();
         try {
              GlobalContainer globalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
              OutputAttachments outputAttachments = globalContainer.getOutputAttachments();
              Attachment attachments = outputAttachments.create(filename, mimeType,decoder.decodeBuffer(content));
              outputAttachments.setAttachment(attachments);
              return "Adde1: "+filename;
         } catch (Exception e) {
              return e.toString();
    (SDN helped me much in creating that
    This function has no compiling errors, anything workes fine:
    It takes 3 input-parameters, see also: http://help.sap.com/javadocs/pi/SP3/xpi/com/sap/aii/mapping/api/OutputAttachments.html
    filename (ok, more or less contentID)
    mimeType (more or less contentType)
    content: Base64-encoded String which should be set as content
    In my sample I use the following constants for that function:
    filename = "fn1.txt"
    mimeType="application/xml"
    content = "UG9seWZvbiB6d2l0c2NoZXJuZCBhw59lbiBNw6R4Y2hlbnMgVsO2Z2VsIFLDvGJlbiwgSm9naHVydCB1bmQgUXVhcms=" --> cames directly from http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base64
    When using the message, I got this error within SXMB_MONI:
    <SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Could not queue receive for
    message 0022642d-b106-02df-8e8c-f41c243bd112(INBOUND). Reason: java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to

    This looks pretty much the same as Add Attachment from ABAP Mapping but this tread is also not answered.
    Adding attachment from PI level looks also in that direction, again, no answer.
    So, I was wondering if someone has solved such problem?

    Hi Divyesh!
    We did it that way:
    1. Choosing the XML-Mailstructure as Destination as described in Configuring the Receiver Mail Adapter - Advanced Adapter Engine - SAP Library -  Example (XI payload with mail package)
    2. now we have created a UDF for creating the "content"
    public void getContent(String[] text, String[] attFname, String[] attType, String[] attContent, ResultList result, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    // vergleich ob alle att-Arrays selbe anzahl haben
    if (attFname.length!=attType.length || attFname.length!=attContent.length) {
        result.addValue(Integer.parseInt("Fehler: alle Attachment-Eingänge müssen die selbe Anzahl an Elementen haben!"));
        String CRLF = "\r\n";
        String output="This is a multi-part message in MIME format."+CRLF+CRLF+
        "--"+getBoundary(container)+CRLF+
        "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8"+CRLF+
        "Content-Disposition: inline" + CRLF + CRLF +
        text[0]+CRLF;
    for (int i=0;i<attFname.length;i++) {
        output+="--"+getBoundary(container)+CRLF+
        "Content-Type: "+attType[i]+"; name="+((char)34)+attFname[i]+((char)34)+CRLF+
        "Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="+((char)34)+attFname[i]+((char)34)+CRLF+
        "Content-Transfer-Encoding: Base64"+CRLF+CRLF+attContent[i]+CRLF;
    output+="--"+getBoundary(container)+CRLF;
    result.addValue(output);
    This UDF is configured as "QUEUE"
    We have configured this input-structure
    The Content itself is allready base64.
    So we can call this mapping and it creates a Multipart-Mail for us.

  • Premiere timeline printing (for animation x-sheet use)

    I have used a very old version of adobe premiere (premiere 5 windows) to print timeline pdfs of pix icon and waveform of animatic quicktimes. I would add anotations to these in acrobat for specific animation timing direction ( as replacement for traditional animation exposure sheets). My problem is that adobe long ago dropped their print timeline feature in more recent versions and I can't get the old version of premiere to even launch under any recent OS....
    I'm hoping there is a way to do the same thing with new Premiere Pro CC ....(just print premiere timeline of pix icons with audio waveform).. or a third party export for animation exposure sheet use... Any Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Woody

    Woody,
    Thinking about your situation, I wonder if something like this would be useful (what Joe suggested, but with variations):
    I just expanded a blank Narration Audio Track, to about 6x the width of the displayed Video Track, did a screen-cap, brought it into Photoshop, and Selected that area of the Narration Track, applied a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer to it, to give room for annotations, etc.. As I only have PrPro 2.0 on this old laptop, things will look a bit different, but with the Adjustment Layer, it will not matter if the GUI is a darker gray.
    One can always add a blank Track, where desired, and expand it to suit. One could also create a white Filled Shape, w/ grid (see below), and just have that ready to be Pasted into the screen-cap of the Timeline. One could probably create an Action, or a Script, to handle much of that automatically, or at least semi-automatically.
    It is missing the grid, that your image shows, but one could easily create that with Paths and a thin Stroke on a Layer.
    There IS a little work to be done, but not THAT much.
    Just thinking of a workaround.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Text converted to graphics when using shapes from iWork

    I'm in the process of constructing a web site and want to have a site directory along the right side of each page. I started off using square text boxes and making room for the directory by using iWeb's text wrap, adding an inline transparent square to a conveniently located paragraph and resizing it as necessary. However, I found that sometimes depending on which object was selected when I uploaded the site the square seemed to cover up my link box - possibly even when it was sent to the back.
    Then I learned that I could use shapes from Pages and edit them in iWeb, so I created a polygon with an opening for the site directory, and used it for my text box on each page. That worked great in that the directory was no longer behind the text box. However when I uploaded the web site, I eventually realized that my text boxes were all converted to graphics.
    As a test I created a page identical to an existing page with a square used as a text box, and it reverts to being text.
    Here's my web site if anyone wants to check it out - look at the main page and also at the Test Page reachable from the directory on the right.
    http://web.mac.com/peterynh
    A couple questions:
    1. Does this mean that shapes created using the drawing tool in Pages that are made editable and then modified in iWeb will always produce graphics when used as text boxes? Is there any way around this?
    2. Is the same a problem if shapes are created in other programs (e.g. Illustrator)?
    3. Is there any other way I haven't thought of to create the same basic design which would preserve the text boxes as text?
    Thanks for any help!,

    James - Thanks for the suggestions and ideas.
    You know, I think it's possible to put a textbox
    inside another text box......and in that fashion
    still be able to wrap text in the main text box
    around the interior text box. However, I am not sure
    whether that will necessarily make all the text
    converted into an image.
    I tried that with interesting results. I couldn't resize the text box except through the Inspector for some reason. Once I pasted in the text, the box moved down below the site directory box to where there was room for a full-width text box; so it didn't accomplish the purpose.
    About using iWeb's built-in text-wrap through adding an inline graphic:
    This would work too...just make sure to select your
    text box and click on the "Backward" button in order
    to make sure that your main text box with the
    transparent "placeholder" image is behind your
    directory box that you want displayed. The same
    thing can be achieved by selecting your directory box
    and clicking "forward" so that it becomes the
    frontmost element.
    That makes sense. I tried that originally; maybe I wasn't careful about sending things to the front/back. The biggest problem is that if paragraphs don't line up with the site directory box, or if I edit text on the page, the text doesn't wrap very neatly around where I want it to. Otherwise this would be a good solution. I may end up doing this unless a better idea materializes, if such is even possible ...
    Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be interested to see if any better ideas appear; if none do in the next couple days I may just declare the problem solved as well as possible until iWeb 2.0 appears.

  • Can I open and use a downloaded Excel Spreadsheet?

    Can I open and use a downloaded Excel Spreadsheet?
    <Re-Titled By Host>

    LibreOffice will not run Excel macros (read below) without some work, it's not a good solution, I also do not think that the free online version of MS Office (comes with OneDrive) has VBA, so no macros there either.
    Bottom line is if you want to run macros from Excel, you'll need Excel. Preferably the Windows version (the Mac version may be better than Pages, but it's a toy in comparison to the real Excel)
    Macros in Microsoft Office and LibreOffice
    With a few exceptions, Microsoft Office and LibreOffice cannot run the same macro code. Microsoft Office uses VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code, and LibreOffice uses Basic code based on the LibreOffice API (Application Program Interface) environment. Although the programming language is the same, the objects and methods are different.
    The most recent versions of LibreOffice can run some Excel Visual Basic scripts if you enable this feature at LibreOffice - PreferencesTools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties.
    If you use macros in one of the applications and want to use the same functionality in the other application, you must edit the macros. LibreOffice can load the macros that are contained within Microsoft Office files and you can then view and edit the macro code in the LibreOffice Basic IDE editor.
    You can choose to preserve or delete VBA macros
    Open a Microsoft Office document that contains VBA macro code. Change only the normal contents (text, cells, graphics), and do not edit the macros. Save the document as a Microsoft Office file type. Open the file in Microsoft Office, and the VBA macros will run as before.
    You may delete the VBA macros from the Microsoft Office file on loading or on saving.
    Choose Tools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties to set the VBA macro handling of LibreOffice.

  • What are the ideal specs for professional graphic designer using CS5 illustrator, photoshop and indesign?g

    What are the ideal Mac Pro specs for a professional graphic designer using CS5 Premium- using mostly InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoShop?

    24GB RAM
    SSD for boot drive
    GHz, but not necessarily dual. Apple doesn't sell dual 3.33s.
    A single 3.33 6-core should do fine and "sweet spot" (when looking, there is "4-core" build to order..,. and like everything else on the Store, why in heavens they didn't be more accurate and clear and say "single socket" and then have "dual processor configurations" 0 I guess the writers don't understand or know workstations or jargon? I say that 'cause some have trouble even finding the 6-core 3.33 choice ($1200 over stock 2.8 4-core).
    W3680 though can be found on Buy.com for $620 (was $589 at earlier date) and people are known to then sell the stock cpu $300 making it even more attractive and save $600-900 that way rather easily. Or not.
    But yes, I would send you to MPG.com site as well and read through what is on there.

  • Can I continue to use Ideas until Draw gets needed updates?

    Draw has a great list of new features that got me really excited to try it out. But a few key differences between Illustrator Draw and Adobe Ideas—specifically, features that got dropped—means it's unlikely I can really switch right now, given my current workflow. Here are a few of the features I've come to rely on in Ideas that are not included in Illustrator Draw:
    -Export as vector pdf. I honestly can't believe this one isn't included. Essentially, this means that anyone who isn't paying the monthly fee for a Creative Cloud subscription cannot use Draw in conjunction with Illustrator on the desktop. While Ideas could at least email a vector pdf, Draw offers jpg (jpg!) only, or a png to Creative Cloud storage, which pretty much defeats the purpose of the app for users on even slightly older versions of Illustrator.
    -Wacom stylus support isn't working, despite what the FAQ says. (A recent post here suggests this will be fixed in an update.) Giving up pressure-sensitivity is a deal breaker.
    -No portrait mode. This isn't the end of the world, but as someone who does a lot of portrait work, having my toolbars adjust to my orientation is a great help when working. (Also said to be coming in an update.)
    -No color picker. Near-essential for working from a source photo. Having to return to the color palette/history each time is a huge time drain.
    And while I'm here, I'll beg for one other feature I'd love to see: support for background transparency is something I always wished for in Ideas but never got. Would be a great help for anyone making logos or other graphics that are laid over other content.
    What I'm wondering about for now is the fate of Adobe Ideas—can I continue to use it while waiting for Illustrator Draw to be updated, or will it no longer be able to sync/export? And when Draw is updated, will I be able to get my Ideas drawings imported into the updated app? (I've already done the "one-time fetch" of my Ideas files.) Hope all that doesn't sound like too much complaining; I'm really excited about the direction the app is taking!

    You can export via email, but the file is a jpg in Draw. Ideas sent pdfs, Draw does not. So unless you have a paid CC subscription, you can't get a vector file into Illustrator anymore.
    The background transparency issue is about using Draw while on the go, without importing into Illustrator. Any image saved from the app has a white background. Of course it's easy to save with a transparent background in Illustrator, but it would be nice to have that option in the app itself. (In other words, if I don't have anything in the Photo layer, I wish it would be transparent, not filled with white.)
    So if I'm using the app while mobile, I can't, for instance, make a quick logo drawing and lay it on top of a client's screenshot to give them an idea of how it might look.

  • Can the iPad be used as a sketch pad?

    Can the iPad be used as a sketch pad?

    Not exactly, it doesn't offer the fine control, it's a touchscreen.
    You might be better served with a Wacom graphics tablet.
    http://www.wacom.com/
    Here is the sketch pen for the iPad, notice how thick the end is?
    http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/BambooStylus/BambooStylus.aspx
    The graphics tablet and pens are much finer and thus allow for more detail, but require marrying to a computer.
    Depends upon your need. Fine or casual sketching. If you can work with constantly zooming in/out on the iPad's small screen.
    You can't rest your hand on the iPad screen neither, if that's a issue or not.
    If you wait, touchscreen iMac's are likely coming out down the road sometime.
    This would offer the best of both.

    hello,
    in reports 6i the charts are created using oracle graphics which stores the chart definitions in a separate file (.OGD). there is not XML interface for graphics.
    with reports 9i and the introduction of the BIgraphBean the definition of the chart-properties is also done in XML.
