Can anybody recommend any useful performance and tuning books.
I should probably limit my search to 11g or higher.

Its not a certificaiton book.

Trying to get hold of my own course pdf for performance and tuning 11g, would oracle have list of classes i have taken?

Tyring to find my own course pdf for oracle performance and tuning 11g that I took thru Oracle.
I am studying for 1z0-064 currently using 10g perf tuning book.
Would Oracle have list of Oracle classes that i have taken.
If they do, is there any way to get hold of the pdf from the class that I took?
I realize that this is a stretch.

Can anybody recommend an anti-virus for my macbook pro
I have started to get attachments to my fsmail account from known sites but when opened I'm greeted by a a sentence in French that has the words orange and virus in it. Unfortunately I cannot speak French so are unsure what it is. I believe that my email and possibly my computer has been attacked?
Any views recommendations would be most welcome.

At this time there have been no confirmed Mac OS X viruses (subject to the semantic debate about whether the old iChat exploit, now long since blocked, was properly classified as a virus or a trojan horse, and not counting the Word macro virus that can affect Office v.X or non-updated copies of Office 2004), very few trojans and no adware or spyware. I therefore do not feel that antivirus or antispyware software is necessary at this time as long as users are careful about what they download from the Internet or accept as attachments via email.
The most common exploit is a recent outbreak of "scareware" that people are encountering while web surfing. This "scareware" pops up and claims that your system is infected with viruses, prompts you to download their "scanner", then tells you that you need to purchase their paid software to remove them. These fake applications, appearing by many names including Mac Defender, Apple Security Center, Apple Web Security, and many others, do nothing at all other than turn off the fake warnings once they have your money. DO NOT fall for these.
Security precautions for Mac OS X mostly are common sense: don't download and run files from sites you don't know, don't fall for any "you have viruses" messages, don't double-click on attachments in emails you aren't expecting and/or from people you don't know, and make sure you password your system with a non-trivial password and keep that password secure. In addition, don't leave your system available in a public place and unattended where someone unauthorized could use it and potentially install malware (such a policy is also a precaution against theft).
It is possible for a Mac user to inadvertently forward a Windows virus to a PC user though you'd have to do it manually so the above precautions would probably prevent such virus-spreading, and said Windows virus cannot infect the Mac.
If you do decide you wish to run antivirus software, I think that the donationware clamXav should be more than enough. iAntivirus has also been recommended by others, though I have no personal experience with it.
If you are running Windows on your system, either via BootCamp, Parallels Workstation or another solution, then that copy of Windows is subject to all the myriad exploits common to the Windows world, so you need to take full precautions, including running both antivirus and antispyware software.

How similar is the performance and tuning 1z1-064 (12c) to the 1z0-054 (11g)?

I had taken the Oracle 11g performance and Tuning class from Oracle.
I am just wondering how close the 1z1-064 will be to the 1z0-054.
I am also studying for the 1z1-064 exam.
Are there any books out yet, or just the otn material.

Hopefully John Watson will pipe in on this. I know he has taken both exams. He recently noted on the OraFAQ forum that he had taken both the 1Z0-063 and 1Z0-064 beta exams. His comments about them there were:
"I would say that looking at the exams as a whole, there is a huge improvement over the 10g and 11g equivalents. The new exams cover a lot more material in a lot greater detail, and are a lot harder. These 12c exams are a Good Thing for the profession. They should filter out a lot of exam-cram only DBAs"
It's not clear to me how much of that comment was directed at 063 and how much at 064. The topic list for 063 is much larger than that for 053. However, the topic list for 064 is actually a bit smaller than that of 054.

I am a one man publisher who is about to re-write and typeset a book of esoteric massage that I found in Russia. I have had the book translated into English, and have had the 46 photos re-taken in color. Pages seems relatively easy to use, but is is capable of such an assignment where the color photos will be integrated with the text?

Technically, the colour photographs will be colour managed for media independent matching as per the architecture of the International Color Consortium, now ISO 15076.
To work with media independent colour matching, create a PDF printing master by configuring the PDF/X-3 filter in the Apple ColorSync Utility as per the requirements of your professional printer.
Apple and Microsoft agreed at the Seybold Conference in September 1989 to implement simple typographic shaping, smart typographic shaping and smart typographic scaling in TrueType.
Pages 2008 for Mac, like Word 2008 for Mac, supports simple typographic shaping and smart typographic shaping as well with Apple fonts as with Microsoft fonts (for fonts that have smart shaping, of course). Mac OS X supports smart typographic scaling, but at this point it is not enabled either in Pages 2008 or in Word 2008.
What does this mean? This means that you can do typography in Pages and Word that is as good as the typography in QuarkXPress and InDesign, provided you are a good typographer. What you have to be aware of is that the typography will not be searchable, if you distribute as PDF softcopy. If you distribute as printed hardcopy, this is not important.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

The power supply (which is what I assume you call an adaptor) can be used to charge her MacBook, provided that it is of a similar or larger output. If you both have the same screen size MacBook the power supplies will be the same.
