Can anyone confirm if it works with Olympus e-500?

I'm really wanting to dive in to this software - I have about 4k photos, but I want to see if it will work with the e-500.

I own a brand new Olympus E-500 and Aperture 1.0.
There's no support for the RAW format in Aperture yet. Only Adobe Photoshop with the Camera RAW 3.3 plug-in and the original Olympus Master Software are able to open the RAW images from the E-500.
RAW images from my Nikon Coolpix 5400 are also not supported.
As I understand the System software has to support the image formats, not Aperture. I am sure Mac OS X 10.4.4 will add some cameras. You find a list of supported cameras here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html

Before I buy a new Mac Mini I'm trying to confirm if this will work:
new Mac Mini -> Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter -> Monoprice VGA to S-VIDEO VGA Converter -> standard (non LCD) tv.

The support for RAW files must be revesed engineered because the camera companys don't share that information with either Adobe or Apple. So when a camera is released has very little to do with when they are supported. It is more a matter of how many changes were made in the new model. If most of the stuff for the old model only needs to be slightly modified then it quick. If on the otherhand it a total rewrite then it can take some time to get it supported.

I need to use a program to encode MPEG2 files that compares to TMPGenc 2.5. Is there something I can use on the Mac? I have tried Compressor but I cant seem to select a frame size and as this end result is for cinema, I am at a loss as to what to do. Any ideas?

You should be looking at something called ffmpeg, then, You can set all parameters for any type of compression. I use VisualHub as a front end for it, though I know there are others.
In VisualHub you go to the setup for MPEG and do a checkbox for MPEG-2. It's a different panel than the one for DVD compression. I just checked the advanced panel from there, and you can set any frame size you want.
I can't speak for the results, though.
1024 x 560 for "cinema"? That's what distribution is asking you for? Seems very low, that's all.

The camera shoots MPEG AVC/H.264 1920 x 1080 (60/24/30 fps) is pretty standard these days. It is on the supported list http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US

i think personal domains is some kind of mod_rewrite feature. it will replace the web.mac.com/username with your personal domain!

Can anyone confirm if Elgato Turbo.264 HD works with iMovie '11?

I've been reading a couple of accounts of people who seem to be using Turbo.264 HD (hardware) to accelerate iMovie '11 encoding.
Yet on the Elgato site there is an (admittedly old) support article that says it is only compatible with iMovie '09. Other reviews around the 'Net say the same, and have not been updated with info about iMovie '11.
So can anyone confirm that they have a working setup with iMovie '11 and Elgato Turbo.264 HD (hardware version)? I'd like to make sure before I plunk down the money.
P.S. I know it doesn't seem to work with Final Cut Pro X, I'm focusing on iMovie for now.

I am having issues with incoming calls not displaying the phone number or contact name on my car's display. Can anyone confirm that your S4 is able to "push" this incoming call information to your car's display over bluetooth? Thanks!

Here is my story so far:
I properly synced my new S4 to my car (2012 Prius Gen III - Package IV) and refreshed my phone book. All contacts are shown on my car's display. Out going calls work fine and I can use voice command to dial by name and all the proper details and picture of my contact show up on the screen for outgoing calls. However, if I receive an incoming call from the same exact contact, it shows up with this message "incoming call from unknown". If I later go into my call history, it shows that call with the proper phone number so I know my car is able to match the phone number with the contact. I think the issue must relate to the S4 not properly pushing the phone number or caller id to my car when it gets a new incoming call.
Here is the strange part, my old phone (Droid X) had no problems syncing with my car and both incoming and outgoing calls would show the proper contact person on the display screen.
I just synced my wife's iphone 5 to the car and both outgoing and incoming calls are displayed just fine.
I just synced my co-workers Droid Razor (4.1.2) and that works fine.
Based on this, my assumption is there is a problem syncing with Galaxy S4 and/or perhaps the bluetooth version with 4.2.2.

Thanks for a stealth fix - can anyone confirm this actually happened?

When the Yoga 2 Pro was released I received an error message about an unauthorized power supply when using with my energizer xpal external battery. It was only a nuisance since the battery continued to work. After this last power update I have not seen that message at all and my laptop continues to work well while on the external battery. Can anyone confirm this was an undocumented fix?

I know they fixed an error message when using other power supplies in the bios when they released the latest (11/7 I think) bios update.

The specific issue that stops the M600, P990 and W950 working with iSync is this:
iSync (over Bluetooth) relies on there being something called "OBEX SyncML Client" and also (the old way) "OBEX IrMC Sync Server" in the phone. Symbian phones do not have this functionality.
Sony Ericssons latest Symbian phones have something called m-router connectivity which is not supported by iSync currently.
For this issue to be resolved in iSync, Apple will first have to add m-router connectivity to iSync. Then third-party manufacturers can add the Phone Plugins to iSync for individual phone models.
There's nothing to stop Sony Ericsson or a clever third-party developer writing a separate application with m-router connectivity built-in. But as iSync is an integral part of the Mac OS, it makes sense to incorporate it into that.
With iSync 2.3 Apple have given handset manufacturers the means to create iSync Phone Plugins for their phones. So, in theory, Sony Ericsson could include a Phone Plugin for iSync in the box with the phone at purchase, and I know that Apple and SE are working towards this.
For Symbian phones, however, Apple first has to add the m-router support to iSync. Who knows how far along, or even if they are working on this?
With Mac OS X 10.4.8 just being released, and 10.5 only a few months away, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a Leopard feature.
