Can anyone confirm that the GPS function works at all on the 4620L?

Our small team of IT and GIS professionals have been trying all week to get the NMEA GPS data off of the Jetpack 4620L. We would like to use this data to track the location of our Police Officers in the field for their safety. We have ESRI mapping software which can handle the reading and display.

According to this document, there is both a separate GPS and a "tower triangulation" GPS over wifi

We have so far not been able to get coordinates from either. Nor have been able to find any evidence of the function working for anyone. We'll have to stop trying unless we can find evidence the function works per the guidebooks instructions for somebody.

Actually, I have a friend that uses the GPS feature without an issue. Of course, his system is not as sophisticated as yours I'm sure.
However, he uses it all the time as he travels all over and loves it. He just enabled it in the Advanced section and followed the directions to connect it to the tracker and that was it.
Not sure if you noticed the port number in the section where this is enabled but it may be something to look into. I don't know much about GPS but thought I would share that.

I am very disappointed with the battery life I am getting out of my Iphone 5S 64G. I charge it every night, and would be lucky to make 15 to 20 minutes of calls during the day and yet I am lucky to get much more than 12 hours of life out of the battery.
I have to make a conscious decision not to use it to avoid it running out on me. I had it back to the Apple Store last week and they ran diagnostic checks on ot and said that the hardware was within specs.
They replaced the software as it was showing that Springboard had crashed on several occasions. The other problem I was complaining about was that at least 2 or 3 times a day, the phone would refuse to wake up when I hit the home button. It would take sometimes up to a minute of pressing the button before anything would light up. The guy at the Apple store said that this was caused by Springboard crashing and that this would also be what is reducing the battery life.
I did notice that after they replaced the software, the waking up problem appeared fixed for a few days, but the battery life had not improved. Now the waking up problem is starting to return.
It is very annoying and somewhat embarrassing when you are with a client and go to make a call and your shiny flashy new Iphone 5 won't even light up. Especially when you have to borrow your clients Nokia....

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

How does the aGPS function of the iPhone 3G work? Do you have to have a cellular or wifi connection to be able to get a location fix, or will GPS satellite signals-only be sufficient?

Maybe. But this was not the question. The question was, if the iPhone 3G would be able to find it's location even without WiFi and cellular network. And yes, it would find the location. The question was not if it would be able to display that location in the Maps app.

How can you avoid that an ABAB-Function works with an EXPORT_PARAMETER

I have to call the ABAP-Function ECATT_EXECUTE via JCO.
In SAP 7.0 there is a new EXPORT_PARAMETER for the function ECATT_EXECUTE, which is called E_RESULT_XML.
There is a statement "IF E_RESULT_XML is requested" which gives always TRUE, so that the function tried to fill this Parmeter and an error occurred while processing.
How you can avoid this ?
What you can do, that this IF-Statement gives FALSE ?
Every helpful hint is welcome !

It may be because when calling a function via JCO all import/export/table parameters are always passed with the call. Have you tried running the function from a test ABAP program and NOT requesting the parameter E_RESULT_XML? If that works ok, the simple solution is to create a custom wrapper function module that you can call from JCO, which will call ECATT_EXECUTE for you ignoring E_RESULT_XML and then return the results to your Java.

I just saw the plug-in np_gp.dll listed in the addons manager. I
never noticed this before. I'm hoping this was installed as part of
the recent round of updates from Adobe (released and installed by me

I've been slightly paranoid because on that same day my anti-virus
tool reported a generic heuristic match on what appears to be part of
Adobe's installer (getplus_helpersvc.exe) which went away after a
while. This could be the result of a newly-released file first
matching a generic pattern then showing up in the whitelist the next
time the AV database is updated. Or could be something worse.

After a little experimentation, I see that it gets added to Firefox when you install Flash 10 into Internet Explorer. It does not get added if you install Flash 10 into Firefox -- only if you install it into to IE.

My ex husband bought our 2 girls new Iphones some months ago. They just noticed he had them logged into his icloud and they have never used this facility. Can anyone confirm that he has access to their photos, imessages, SMS, facebook and email etc?

The children had new IPhones 5s bought for them by my ex-husband. He set them up and logged them into his Icloud account which they were unaware of. Some months later they have messages saying their Icloud storage is full which alerted them to the fact it was his Icloud account on their phones. There was also some transference of personal photos from other devices to their phones from his phone? We know he was able to see things on their phone but did not know how. Can he backup all their info without their knowledge? Did he have access to their email; imessage, SMS, facebook, photos etc
Please explain how we can ensure his icloud account details are removed from their phones so he can not access their phones. In addition is there anyway he could have put spyware on their phones and if so can we run a test of some sort?

You should do the following on each of your children's devices:
Log out of iCloud.
Log out of the iTunes Store and App Store.
Create a new Apple ID.
Log in to iCloud using the new Apple ID.
It isn't possible to install malicious software on an iOS device unless the device is jailbroken or you have the resources of a government intelligence agency.

Can anyone confirm that "upload to ftp host" with "only modified files" works as designed?

It seems to take a really long time to verify existing files on the host. I have found it more productive to ignore this function and use a dedicated ftp client to upload/update Muse-created sites.

I have found that "upload to FTP host" often uploads the entire site, seemingly ignoring the "only modified files" setting. This is not invariably the case, but seems to happen more than it should.

Can anyone confirm if Elgato Turbo.264 HD works with iMovie '11?

I've been reading a couple of accounts of people who seem to be using Turbo.264 HD (hardware) to accelerate iMovie '11 encoding.
Yet on the Elgato site there is an (admittedly old) support article that says it is only compatible with iMovie '09. Other reviews around the 'Net say the same, and have not been updated with info about iMovie '11.
So can anyone confirm that they have a working setup with iMovie '11 and Elgato Turbo.264 HD (hardware version)? I'd like to make sure before I plunk down the money.
P.S. I know it doesn't seem to work with Final Cut Pro X, I'm focusing on iMovie for now.

I am having issues with incoming calls not displaying the phone number or contact name on my car's display. Can anyone confirm that your S4 is able to "push" this incoming call information to your car's display over bluetooth? Thanks!

Here is my story so far:
I properly synced my new S4 to my car (2012 Prius Gen III - Package IV) and refreshed my phone book. All contacts are shown on my car's display. Out going calls work fine and I can use voice command to dial by name and all the proper details and picture of my contact show up on the screen for outgoing calls. However, if I receive an incoming call from the same exact contact, it shows up with this message "incoming call from unknown". If I later go into my call history, it shows that call with the proper phone number so I know my car is able to match the phone number with the contact. I think the issue must relate to the S4 not properly pushing the phone number or caller id to my car when it gets a new incoming call.
Here is the strange part, my old phone (Droid X) had no problems syncing with my car and both incoming and outgoing calls would show the proper contact person on the display screen.
I just synced my wife's iphone 5 to the car and both outgoing and incoming calls are displayed just fine.
I just synced my co-workers Droid Razor (4.1.2) and that works fine.
Based on this, my assumption is there is a problem syncing with Galaxy S4 and/or perhaps the bluetooth version with 4.2.2.

The camera shoots MPEG AVC/H.264 1920 x 1080 (60/24/30 fps) is pretty standard these days. It is on the supported list http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US

I know that both the Raleigh and Durham stores have had some most mornings - sold out within an hour or less. They also told me that they do not know what they will have until they show up at the back door.
The staff have been coming out just before doors open each morning to greet the line of hopefuls and hand out tickets for what they have to sell so the rest of the line need not wait around only to be out of luck.
I'm nowhere near desperate enough for one to get up hours before work just to stand in line on the chance they'll have some, so I'll just wait.
