Can anyone get Java SE6 runtime to make CS5.5 run still?

I've just updated my 2012 MacBook to Yosemite and installed Java 8, though none of my Adobe CS5.5 Creative Suite programs will work.
It seems the program I need it to work: 'Java SE 6 runtime' is no longer available.
Can anyone help?

  • My accounts program won't run without legacy Java SE6 runtime since I upgraded to OS x Yosemite but I can't download it

My "Solar" accounts program won't run without "legacy Java SE6 runtime" since I upgraded my iMac desktop to OS x Yosemite but I can't download it, nothing happens when you click on the link to apple support

Okay, I'm not a Genius, but, I'm smarter than the one I spoke to at the Apple Store. They told me that they couldn't help me with Legacy Java SE6 Runtime. Adobe has the worst support in the industry so don't call them.
If you have a Time Machine backup, go to one that pre dates your install of Yosemite. Go to the System/Library/Java and drag copy the folder to your internal hard disk. Now you will need the Administrator password. Once copied, drag the old Java folder into your System/Library folder and when asked to replace, click OK. Restart your Mac and you will have use of your software that requires Legacy Java SE6 Runtime.
I'm totally done with Apple since they are trying to box me into a corner. Have fun kids.

Since I downloaded Apple's latest operating system, whenever I try to open Illustrator I get a message that I need to install legacy Java SE6 runtime and to click "more info" to do this. When I click "more info" I get a blank window. What should I do

    Hi,
I had the same problem after upgrading to Yosemite. Illustrator CS6 wouldn't open. I got a message saying I should 'install legacy Java SE6 runtime'.
The link didn't work - it lead to a blank page.
So I downloaded Java8 (latest version) from Oracle but didn't install it. Something told me this was not the right way to go (the problem was with Java SE6, not 8). I then called Apple (in the Netherlands, were I live) for help. I got none. The best they could do was blaming Adobe for the problem or me, for not having the latest Adobe CC app. Rubbish.
And then, magic. I tried to open Illustrator again, got the pop up message but this time the link worked. It took me to an official Apple page, with a link to download Java for OS X 2014-001. The problem is now solved.
If curious, this is the explanation Apple gives for the problem:
'Java for OS X 2014-001 includes installation improvements, and supersedes all previous versions of Java for OS X. This package installs the same version of Java 6 included in Java for OS X 2013-005. On systems that have not already installed Java for OS X 2012-006 or later, this update disables the Java SE 6 applet plug-in. To use applets on a web page, click on the region labeled 'missing plug-in' to download the latest version of the Java applet plug-in from Oracle.'

  • Have CS5 and after installing yosemite is asking to install Java SE6 Runtime, problem is Java has a ton of version 6 and none for Mac, why hasnt adobe provide the right version download?

Adobe needs to get their act together, be specific as to what version of Java SE6 Runtime is needed to open CS5  (InDesing, Illustrator, etc.)and if possible offer a direct download, since Oracle has a ton of version of SE6 and none of them for Mac specific platform. This short sight on behalf of Adobe and carelessness on behalf of apple is the kind of garbage, this companies will never get!

I'm pretty sure this post has the link in it...

If not, do a search of the DW forum for Java SE 6, there has been a lot of discussion about it and the download link for it is floating around here somewhere.

  • Can anyone get LPX to actually read FCPX XML files properly?

Can anyone get LPX to actually read FCPX XML files properly?  I'm in the latest versions of FCPX, LPX, and OS X Mavericks, and it simply doesn't work at all.  Total failure.  Can anyone get this to work properly?

I haven't used it on a current project, but I did test it, and it worked fine. I was able to save an XML file, render a proxy video, and import them both into LPX. I was able to make some tweaks and export it all back to FCPX.
While Roles are not addressed as elegantly as the app X2Pro does for Pro Tools, the process works.
I'm running Mavericks on a MBP and a "CustoMac".

  • Than how can i get java class by using it's class file?

    Hi
After compilation of a java program, it creates a class file.
After getting class file suppose class file has been deleted.
Than how can i get java class by using it's class file?
    Thanks in advance.

get a decompiler and run your class file through it--I'll assume you want the source code back and that you are not trying to recover a missing class file by attempting to use the class file that is missing--if it's missing, then I've not a clue on how to get it back by using what is already missing.
BTW: many of your compilers have source control--if it does, just restore your missing file.

  • How can I get Java to fill out form on web page and submit?

I need to write a Java program that will submit a HTML form. I tried using POST already, but the only response I got back was the source code for the page itself. Looking more closely, I realized that there is a PHP script that will actually take the data from the forms and use it. How can I get Java to enter the data on the forms automatically and then run this PHP script? I don't need code, just a pointer in the right direction should do.
    Thanks in advance,
    Hasitha D

If you are writing a program to submit a form, how come the PHP script come out of nowhere ? At this momemnt you are just writing some Java program, isn;t it ?
My feeling is you are trying to edit some pre-written code.
    Is it ?
    Thanks.

  • HT1338 Can I get Java for my iPad? I want to do crosswords and sudoku.

I'd love to use my iPad when traveling, and be able to do the Washington Post sudokus and crosswords. Without Java, they don't appear on screen. Can I get Java for my iPad to enable me to play?

I see the Washington Post Sudokus are working with the Puffin Web Browser on the iPad; http://itunes.apple.com/app/puffin-web-browser/id406239138?alreadyRedirected=1&m t=8
