Can anyone hack gamecenter cz i think someone hacked mine. How do i fix this?

Without a bit more information - why do you think you were "hacked"? What are yo seeing? - its would be pretty difficult to suggest a "fix", beyond changing your password.

  • My iPod was recently stolen I am not sure beside reporting it to the police how I can shut it down as I think someone is trying to access it  What do I do?

Hi I hope I am in the right area my ipod touch was recently stolen and although I am reporting it to the police< I think someone is trying to  download apps.  What can I do to shut this down.  I am not sure I downloaded cloud.

    Apple will not help
If you previously turned on FindMyiPod ins Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. You can then find its general location and wipe it. If the iPod has been restored it will show off-line forever.
Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

  • Can anyone tell me how to contact someone above the local Verizon Store with a complaint?

I'm having a very frustrating problem and have been unable to resolve it through the local Verizon Wireless store.  When I asked for a superior's contact information I'm told that they're not allowed to give that out!  How do I get in touch with someone who can help me?  I've been a customer for over 20 year and have always sung Verizon's praise, but am having second thoughts.

Thanks, Anthony.  I finally got through to someone who could help by filing
a complaint with the BBB.  Issues resolved.

  • Can anyone tell me?  I think it's a simple question...

What are the default playback settings (those 3 top boxes)? I tried to uninstall/reinstall to get the defaults back, but somehow the settings were remembered.
    Thanks!

Thanks for responding Chris. After I adjusted the playback settings, my music skips like crazy - no matter what program I use. I'd really like to restore all default settings...anyway...here is what I mean regarding the playback settings:
Edit - Preferences - Playback (tab) - Top 3 Boxes = Crossfade playback, Sound Enhancer, Sound Check.
I wish I had never messed with those!
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Can anyone help with clearing space on my Mac Mini, it says the hard drive is full and runs slowly.

Please help, we got the Mac Mini from a family member so it may have his stuff on it but no longer required, we have only put a smal amount of data on it so don't believe we have over filled it. I backed up to a hard drive all photos etc as I thought it may be them filling it, now I cannot even scan a document to it. Is there any way to Defrag it as you can normally do to a windows system as well as either declutter it or restore the whole thing.
    Best Regards

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

  • I reset my 3Gs, but now all I get is the Apple icon. It won't turn off or anything. Is it bricked? What is bricked? How do I fix it please. Can anyone help me please.

Hi, I've just appear to have deleted my iphone and now all I'm getting is the Apple icon.
It won't turn off or anything. I have tried holding in the off button and home button together,
but the icon goes and comes back again. It won't connect to Itunes, as the device is not showing
up. Can anyone HELP PLEASE. I think I need to reload Iphone back onto the device.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Then you can restore your phone:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Black margins down each side of my screen, so reduced screen size, can anyone help please?

I have 2 black margins down each side of the viewable sceen, I've tried going in to 'full screen mode' but all tha happens is that I lose my footers and headers, the screen view still remains long and narrow rather that filling the screen top to bottom and sise to side. Can anyone help please?

I think the reason your screen looks like this is because the screen was somehow scaled differently in System Preferences. To fix this open up the System Preferences app and click on "Displays". Next click on "Scaled" and make sure it says "1280 x 800" or the top one in the list so it should look like this:
    Then that's it.
If this doesn't work try restarting your MacBook Pro or resetting the SMC or PRAM.
    Hope this helps,

I have an ipad3 and wireless keyboard but for the life on me can not type a pound (GBP) symbol - can anyone help?

I would think you'd have to change the language to British English to get the pound sign. THat or turn off your wireless keyboard and get the pound sign from the on screen keyboard, then turn your wireless board back on.

It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

  • My ipad mini is not taking a charge. Only 3 months old. Can anyone advise please?

Hi. Can anyone help me. I have an ipad mini which has stopped taking a charge. I have had it for a few months and no problems until now.
I would be grateful if someone could advise. Do I need a new battery after such a short time? I have my ipad which I have had for 14 months and no problem with it.and it is constantly in use, but ipad mini is not used as much and now not able to charge it.  help.
    Regards
    Salvia11

Are you using the wall charger? It's unlikely to be the battery .
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.
    Make a Genius Bar Reservation
    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Updated to Mavericks. Now theres tons of activity in my terminal and my activity monitor doesn't seem normal. I want to think someone's hacking me, but i need experienced help please!

I spent all night trying to fix this. It seems to me that someone has been trying to hack into my system with all of the random codes/lines in my terminal and i have all of his foreign IP addresses. And now i get this strange message that popped up in my terminal. Idk what it entirely means? I would very appreciate if someone could just walk me through this. Thank you very much.
First time poster. I have Macbook Pro. OSX. Just downloaded the new mavericks. I'm i have my firewall on. I stay secure. I run Netbarrier, Virusbarrier, IdentityScrubber.
I know something is a little odd or just doesn't make since about my activity monitor. Then my WiFi was hacked last night and this person was writing tons lines of commands/codes that i found in my terminal and my activity monitor doesn't look normal,  and I've only been a mac owner for about a year now and i'm learning more and more but while trying to figure out what was going on this message popped up which concerned me the most. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks guys. I have my terminal full of his foreign ip addresses i noticed, and a lot of other commands and lines he wrote out that i definitely did not type myself. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Thanks

haha, so now i'm thinking. I'm learning the terminal as fast as i can but there are several lines of codes and commands in there that throws up red flags to me that i don't fully understand. It just looks fishy too me. It would be highly appreciated if someone could just check this out just to tell me that i don't need to worry about it. Or point me in the right direction. I just feel un easy about this. ha.

  • What security does my iPad 2 have? Bit concerned as some of my accounts have been hacked in to. If it has none can anyone suggest any thing

What security does my IPad 2 have if any. Some of my accounts have been hacked. Can anyone suggest anything. Thanks

    Not silly questions at all!
"Safe" is a tricky term. Nobody can ever tell you that accessing websites is 100% safe. Even if you are going through an encrypted site, if you're in a public place, someone could be watching over your shoulder to see you type your login and password.
As you say, the iPad itself is relatively (compared to PCs) secure in the sense that there is no chance of viruses or malware stealing your logins.
But you can take sensible steps to be careful.
If you think you have reason to be concerned about the security of any of the sites you've mentioned, I would recommend you change your passwords. Start with email - if someone else has access to your email, they will often be able to detect and reset any changes you make to other accounts. Then change the other accounts.
Do not use the same password for all your accounts.
Gmail has the ability to use SSL - check in your iPad's Mail settings whether "Use SSL" is ON.
The Barclays app should certainly transmit information in an encrypted manner, so again, provided you have a good password and are cautious about logging in in public view, you're covering your bases.
Finally, let me give you one perspective on computer security that has a lot of truth to it:
