Can Anyone Help Me Set Up My M-Audio Radium As A Control Surface?

Hi Everyone,
I just bought a new keyboard (M-Audio Radium) because the old one died. There's a bunch of knobs and sliders that I hear can be used as a control surface. However, when I follow the manual there seems to be several discrepancies between what it shows and what the Logic-Preferences-Control Surfaces interface shows. So if someone could be so kind as to point me in the right direction as to the proper way to set this up, I'd appreciate it. P.S. The more that you can walk me through it the better. Thanks

I just picked up an Oxygen8v2...it just has 8 knobs and transport controls. First off, I saw a video on a guy using this with Logic, and he opened the Enigma software that is for editing M-Audio controllers. He went to the Keystation88 preset, and there is a Logic template. He just literally copied the item he wanted, say, the Stop button, and then opened the Oxygen8v2 panel and pasted it over the Stop on that template. Seems to make sense, but, I do it, and it doesn't work at all.
So, I just spent an hour figuring this out. Here's the only way so far I got this to work. First off, none of the M-audio boards are in the Controller window, or, they are not Natively supported in Logic. Why? Who knows, they are only the largest supplier of these things. Anyway, for the transport controls, I went to the Key Assignments... window, and found the stop line, clicked on Learn Assignment button, and hit the stop button on my Oxygen8v2. Works great. I did that for all the transport buttons.
Now, of the 8 knobs, the last 2 already seem to control the pan and track levels, just luck I think that the preset controller numbers match Logic's. So, I want to assign one of the other knobs to the Send level of Bus 1, another to Bus 2. Now I had to open the Controller Assignments... window. Clicked on Send 1 in Logic, and the window then said Send 1, I hit Learn, and twiddled the knob, and hit Learn again to stop, and it worked. I did the same for send 2 and knob 2...BUT, something still isn't quite right. The send 1 knob works, but the send 2 knob goes all on and all off when I turn the knob...it's not seeing all the values, just on and off. Tried it 10 times, and it still isn't working. Don't know.
I was very surprised to not find any Logic stuff for these M-Audio controllers. Both are some of the most popular software/hardware out there, yet it's as if Logic doesn't exist to M-Audio (I know, ProTools, ProTools, ProTools...)

    Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/  When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin.  Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here.  In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D

    I cant set up my business email although my personal email wasn not a problem.. My company uses 1and1 webmail.  Any help!

    Set up your email in...? An email client of some sort, I assume. Have you tried with the settings 1&1 recommends? If those don't work, can you give us the error you are getting so we can have a better idea of what exactly the problem is?

  • Can anyone help me set up Instant Messaging on N95...

    Hello everyone,
    It might sound elementary to some of you but I cannot for the life of me get the Instant messaging to work on my N95 - I don't know at all how to get it in sync with my MSN Messenger account.
    Is there anyone that could help? I'm afraid I don't know anything about proxy settings, servers, etc - so I need either a step by step guide or something idiot proof.
    I have an unlocked, unbranded N95 with a T-Mobile SIM (Web 'n' Walk Plus enabled, which allows IM)
    Hope someone could help.

    To sign into MSN you need to supply the client with login gateway of "gateway.messenger.hotmail.com".
    Or you can go and get AgileMessenger from www.agilemobile.com...much nicer application. Costs but its worth it.

  • Can anyone help me set up wireless internet connection?

    I have 2 computers a windows and the Mac and for the first time I can avail of broadband in my area ,I currently use an ISDN line to connect. So I will recieve a wireless modem which will be connected to the windows computer by a wireless usb adaptor and my question is how do I connect the mac wirelessly to the modem which will be in a different room in the house.
    I would be very grateful for advice .
    Thanks in advance

    It means you don't have a wireless (apple calls it airport) card installed on your computer. So similar to your pc, which uses the USB adapter, there are alternatives for your iMac. You could install an airport card although this might not be the most cost effective way. Your best bet would be to contact a specialist to ensure that your computer is compatible and ready for this product though.

    I'd try something like the link below. I have no experience with any product like this for an Apple, so I can't recommend anything or comment on their functionality. I'm sure there are more available as well.

  • Can anyone help me with this- recording at audio signal in the upper frequency region of the audio s

    Using Audition, how would I go about recording an audio signal (voice) at
    14,500Hz? I know this would be outside the frequency range for the human ear to hear, but that is the point of my question. Any help would be very much appreciated
    Thanks!!!!

    You are thinking about it absolutely the wrong way if you think you can "convert" a voice file to be only 14.5kHz. You need to think of a control frequency (14.5kHz) being modulated by the voice line you record. You can't just change the pitch of the voice file or use the FFT filter to eliminate everything under 14.5kHz. It won't work that way.
    Try it yourself. Record a voice line. Use Pitch Shifter or pitch strech to change the pitch on the voice. Crank it up all the way to highest possible pitch. Listen to it. Painful isn't it? Could you understand anything? Thought not. Then go to the FFT filter. Reset so it's flat. Add a break point (click on the line) at 14.5kHz. Then click and drag the line below 14.5kHz and bring it to zero. Listen to it. You get the occasional movment if you watch the Frequency Analysis window, but certainly nothing audible to my burned out ears.
    The direction I would look at is using the Vocoder effect in MT. insert your voice line into the MT window. In EV, create a new file using Generate Tones at 14.5kHz of the length you need. Insert the tone file into MT ABOVE the voice file. Select and highlight them both. Still in MT, go to Effects>Vocoder. Make your Control Wave the voice file and your Process Wave the tone file. Hit OK. A new file (that looks blank) will be created. Play it in EV with the Frequency Analysis window open and you will see activity at 14.5kHz. This is amplitude modulation (AM). Will it result in anything subliminal? I doubt it, but it would depend on how much you belive subliminal messaging works.
    Didn't an earlier version of Audition have some subliminal effect? Could it have been as far back as CEP 1.2?

  • I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  I was given the choice of small, medium or large the first time I took a picture.  Now I have no idea how to change it to medium.  Can anyone help?

    I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  The first time I took a pic it asked if I wanted smalll,  medium or large and listed the pixels.  I chose small but am now finding that is too small.  Can anyone help me set it to medium now?  I can't find any setting for that.  I'm a newby to iPhones and have no idea what I'm doing.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

    By "sending" do you mean sending email?
    If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
    My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
    I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
    To my  knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.

    When I try to share a project to theater I get the message Your Theater could not be opened.There was a problem reading your movies from iCloud and the project does not share. Can anyone help?

    Set up iMovie Theater and iCloud
    In order to take full advantage of the capabilities of iMovie Theater, you must be signed in to iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, movies and trailers shared to iMovie Theater are automatically uploaded to iCloud. You can also turn off automatic uploading, and upload just the movies and trailers you want, or delete individual movies and trailers from iCloud. For more information about the Theater, see iMovie Theater overview.
    If you sign out of your iCloud account on your Mac, all iCloud movies disappear from the Theater, but they are not deleted; the movies reappear when you sign in again. If you ever run out of space in iCloud, an alert icon appears in the top-right corner of your movie, indicating that you can’t upload new movies. For more information, click the icon. After you upgrade your iCloud storage or clear space, your movies automatically appear in iCloud again.
    Hide
    Set up automatic iCloud uploading
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and click iCloud.
    Make sure you’re signed in, and then select the Documents & Data checkbox.
    Click the Options button next to Documents & Data.
    Make sure the iMovie checkbox is selected.
    In iMovie, choose iMovie > Preferences.
    Select the “Automatically upload content to iCloud” checkbox.
    To turn off automatic uploading, deselect the checkbox.

  • Can someone help me set up Hotmail on the e72

    hi everyone
    i recently bought a new nokia e72, online, from Virgin Australia
    and i cant set up the email on it.. ive taken it to the virgin shop and they told me it was a nokia problem
    When i begin the email setup wizard it connects through the packet data - not wireless and it asks me to begin the wizard- i click start
    it then opens a list of different email carriers and i select 'hotmail'
    i then enter my email address and password and it says 'detecting email settings' and then has no message of confirmation and returns to the list of email carriers.
    ive tried setting it up so many times and it hasnt worked at all.
    can anyone help me set this up please
    thanks guys
    btw. my email address has the '.com.au' end - would this affect anything??

    the e72 is forcing the use of the nokia messaging which has been in the crapper for months now.
    in order to bypass it and use the integrated symbian email client, do not select the hotmail, select "other" and enter the email information. when you get to the TOS (terms of service), tap skip/no/cancel in order to NOT use the Nokia Messaging. then just use your standard settings for hotmail for your inbound and outbound ports.

  • Why do I keep losing audio/recorded tracks and SFX in my projects? I have tried: Saving as archive file/searching package contents etc. to no avail. Can anyone help?

    Why do I keep losing audio/recorded tracks and SFX in my projects? I have tried: Saving as archive file/searching package contents etc. to no avail. Can anyone help? It keeps telling me 'Audio file not found', and seems to be different tracks in the same project each time too.

    I also have this problem using Garageband in a school network situation when students open their project on one station, save it to their network drive, and later open it at a different station.  90% of the time there will be no issue, but sometimes audio files are lost. (Garageband '11, iMacs)
    That sounds like it might be a failure of the students to perform a Save As and check Archive Project when they do. This asks GB to pull all the files it needs into the associated .band document rather than point to them externally (and then risk not having them be there).

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

    Hi,
    To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
    Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
    Give the datasource name, then the database name.
    You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
    There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
    It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp
    Hope this helps...
    best wishes,
    Nish

Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over.  I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...

    There is no such thing as a "sub-account."  Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account."  Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases.  iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account).  You'll need to clarify...
    So, this is what I think you are saying.  You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend.  Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
    You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library.  Is that on a different computer?  How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
    You got a new iPod.  What is your "old iTunes"?  Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?
