Can Anyone Help me Use iMovie to View a Video Mini-Camera

Hello,
I have a simple tiny "mini camera" (aka pinhole camera) with an analog video signal and I understand that if I run it through an analog to digital converter like the Pinnacle Studio MovieBox, I can view it in iMovie. I tried it, and was able to get iMovie to acknowledge that the camera is connected, but I wasn't able to view the image.
Any ideas?

Hi Andrew. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll make sure I post in the relevant forum. Thanks for the advice.
The company will act as a kind of freelance design agency bringing skilled people together with people looking for those services. I would like the site, including the video, to be up by Monday-Tuesday ideally. And the main reason for this is so that it showcases what we are about to any prospective freelancers and creative talent that we are in the process of contacting so they have a clear idea about the company and what we are looking for. I have no intention of dealing with clients on a commercial basis yet without any kind of infrastructure in place in terms of trusted personnel beforehand. I agree that would certainly be questionable.
Thanks again for your reply.

  • Can anyone help me using these fonts?...

Hi guys, im building a site in dreamweaver and was hoping to use the fonts - positive a, barnes and pen of truth.
I know that there is something you can do with some copy and paste code from google but i cant seem to find it.
    Can anyone help?!
    Heres my site - www.allroots.org
    Cheers
    Benn

    Benn,
Line 6 of your HTML where you've used the reference for CabinSketch - it is incorrect referencing to Google Webfont library. The correct references it this:
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cabin+Sketch:700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
    700 being font-weight, bold.
One more thing I noticed - Rye regular is also incorrectly referenced in your HTML. The correct line of reference is:
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Rye' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
Replace both these to your existing lines that define these 2 font references.
The current URL you've referenced to on Google Fonts API gives a 404 not found error - which means the font is not stored at Google at the referenced location which is why the font doesn't show up on your page. Try clicking on these links as given your document to see what I mean:
    CabinSketch Bold
    Rye Regular
    Trust this helps.

  • Can anyone help me?  I have a MacBook Air mini and I'm not sure which key or keys I need to click on to be able to unlock the keys ... I can't seem to click on anything because I think the keys are on lock mode.

    Please anyone help me please!

If you don't have Time Machine or an External USB Hard Drive for Storage, I hate to say this but you may have to erase and re-install your Operating System.
If you didn't empty the trash after you threw the Application Folder in the trash you can click on the trash and when it opens you can drag the Applications folder to the Desktop and drag and drop it back to the Mac HD.

  • Can anyone help find lost iMovie clips please?

    Hello,
I've lost several iMovie clips from my iMovie, The Library list on the left on the screen still displays the titles, but when I click on them the window displays the title with "empty" next to it.
I've tried restoring from my Time Machine back-up external disk but the results remain the same.
I've tried looking at my iCloud account and can't see any movies there at all, including in iCloud Drive.
I upgraded to iMovie 10.0.6 and it seems to have happened since then.
Unfortunately the missing movies have been deleted from my camera so I can't reload them.
I have uploaded some movie clips recently and they've worked fine.
Is there any other way I might be able to recover these missing files?

I've now recovered the missing files, however I have a further problem which I'm hoping someone can help with.
I have just recovered some video clips which I had accidentally deleted. For some reason the recovered files couldn't be read by iMovie but when I tried iPhoto they did transfer into that. It took hours though.
Now the movies are there they are showing as "clip" type with a unique number allocated to each clip.
I want to bring them into iMovie so that I can include them with iMovie clips which are already there.
I can't find a way to either send them to iMovie or import them into iMovie from iPhoto.
If I want to use clips from both iMovie and iPhoto am I able to import them so I can compile a movie?

  • Can anyone help? Imported iMovie HD projects seem screwed up

I have imported video from iMovie HD into 08, and HELP! In one case. the clips don't play, and the titles seem to have disappeared. In another the clips play, but sometimes with the wrng sound, and again the titles have gone.
(Oh, and be careful: if you import video into iMovie 08 and then erase the original copy (which you may need to do if you are not going to overfill your hard-drive), any iDVD projects that use the video content will become useless.)
    All very frustrating!

Oooh, do tell more. How do you do what you are suggesting?
Navigate to your iMovie HD project in the Finder. Control-click the project icon to open the "contextual menu options." Select "Show Package Contents" to see the files/folders contained in the project package. Open the "Shared Movie" folder. Inside you should see an "iDVD" folder. Opening it you will find the "Project_filename.mov" that represents the currently saved contents of the the project's timeline to include titles, transitions, effects, etc. (This is the data that would normally be sent to iDVD if you were going to burn a DVD of your finished project.) Simply copy the file to another location or HDD so it can be imported in its entirety to iMovie '08.
NOTE: Never tried moving/removing this file from the package as I thought it might have the potential to corrupt the iMovie HD project and am in the habit of working from work/backup files in case there is ever a problem. (I.e., just don't like restarting from scratch if I can avoid it.)

  • Can anyone help with using Gmail

I have been using my iPhone with Outlook for contacts, email, and scheduling.  I am switching to Gmail & Google Calendar (assuming I can get the wrinkles straightened out).  Does anyone have any experience with this?  I am using the app CalenMob to syncronize my iPhone schule with the Google Calendar and it seems to work okay.  Althought the schedule in my iPhone only runs through CalenMob and not the native I phone Calendar app.  Is there a way to have the appointments show up there also?  I major concern does not really affect my iPhone but when I was getting my email through Outlook all the email got save to my hard drive and I could reference it even if I didn't have a web connection at the time.  Is there anyway to download all my Gmail email so it would be on my hard drive also if I needed it in an area with no internet service?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I realized the much of this does not have anything to with the iPhone directly but I was hoping that someone has had a similar experience.
    Thanks in advance... Bob

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • My imovie doesn't work, it's a 3 month old MacBook Pro can anyone help?, my imovie doesn't work, it's a 3 month old MacBook Pro can anyone help?

My imovie isn't working and I have never used it before.. An error code pop's up when i try, tell's me to reopen but the same error code pop's up.. Please Help, Thanks

If iMovie won't start, one thing to try is delete the iMovie Preferences file:
Go to your hard drive Mac HD > Users > (your home folder) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
Drag that file to the trash, reboot your Macintosh and try to launch iMovie again. Failing that if you can write down the error code and report that back to the Discussion Group someone else might be able to start helping with trouble-shooting the failure.

  • Can anyone help with using My Book World with Mac Book?

I've finally got my macbook to see the MyBookWorld in the finder (after many many "connect to the server" attempts) but I still can't figure it out-
1- I can't access the Public or Download folders, I get "Unexpected error code -8059".
2- I can't drag my music, movies or pictures onto it.
3- Time Machine does not see the MyBookWorld as a device to back up to.
4- How do I access my MyBookWorld through the web interface? Do I need to do or change something in there and that would fix everything? I feel like there is just one piece of the puzzle I'm missing to get it all set up right....
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Time Machine doesn't work well, if at all, with most NAS devices. See the pink box in #2 of [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum).
WD claims it will work: http://wdc.com/wdproducts/updates/docs/en/appletimemachine.pdf
but there are a number of posts, mostly in the +Time Machine+ forums, by folks having problems. Support is difficult, because WD isn't expert in Time Machine's workings, and Apple isn't expert in WD's workings.

  • My 5th gen ipod touch dropped face down (with case) and now it will not turn on and is not recognized by my PC.  Can anyone help me? I had alot of videos and pictures on it and don't want to loose them.

Last week my 5th generation ipod touch dropped face down onto the ground.  When picked up the screen was black and did not turn back on.  I tried to connect it to the laptop but it did not recognize the ipod.  Also when it is plugged into the laptop the area by the camera gets warm like it is charging.  But still has a black screen.  I've tried to reset and count to 10, but nothing happends.  Is there anything that can be done to fix this?  Or is it completely dead?  Somebody, anybody please help.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can anyone help me move my email from my mac mini to my new macbook pro

mac book pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Mail stores most preferences and all account settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (except the passwords, which are stored in the keychain). Everything else, including all your messages and mailboxes, is stored within the ~/Library/Mail/ folder.
Similarly, Address Book stores the settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist and the data in ~/Library/Application Support/AddresBook/.
Other applications store preferences and data in other places. You may want to ask in the appropriate forums for more information on those.
If both computers are running the same major version of Mac OS X, copying these files & folders from one computer to the other is all you need to do in order to have an exact copy of all your data on both computers.
In order to avoid potential permission issues, copy the files operating on the destination computer and while logged in as the user that’s going to use them. Also, be sure the affected applications aren’t running on either computer while doing that.

If the major version of Mac OS X on the new computer is different, some applications may need to convert the old data to a new, different format. The data format used by Mail 2.x, in particular, is different from Mail 1.x. Problem is, the conversion from Mail 1.x to Mail 2.x is broken, and it may work or it may fail miserably, so be prepared for it if the version of Mac OS X running on the old computer is older than 10.4 (Tiger).
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

My iPod shuts off repeatedly when using the Nike running app. Have already tried the headphones solution that Apple has recommended. Can anyone help?

Using the 5th generation iPod. Purchased it a few months ago before the new one was launched. Yes the workout randomly ends when I am no where near the time or distance I have programmed in. I keep tried to restart the workout and the same thing keeps happening over and over again. I figured it may have been the headphones but I have even tried holding the headphone connection in place, and different headphones as well and it continues to happen.

using safari or a computer, go to apple.com.  select store, and in the upper right, try to log into your account.  See if they give you a hint at what the issue is, but it sounds like there is some issue with your account - probably easily fixable.

Using the same Ethernet cable that is used to connect the modem to the AirPort Extreme, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the AirPort Extreme and connect it directly to your Mac as a test for 4-6 hours.
Be sure to power off the modem for 5-10 minutes when you do this, so that it will associate with the new device that it "sees".
Does the connection drop when you connect this way? If yes, then replace the Ethernet cable and run the test again for 4-6 hours.
If the connection still drops, you likely have a defective modem or a line problem on the cable service....despite what the cable company might say.
If the connection remains solid when you run the "test", then you know that the modem and Ethernet cable are working correctly.
If you have performed a factory default reset on the AirPort Extreme a few times, and connection still drops, then you should take the AirPort to an Apple Store....if you have one near you..... to let them take a look, or contact Apple Support directly.
