Can anyone help me with EPUB files on my E-Reader?
Hi I have purchased some e-books and opened them in ADE. I added my E-Reader device and authorised, all ok. I dragged the e-books to my E-Reader which all seemed fine. But when I unplug the USB and go onto my E-Reader, the e-books won't open and the symbol is a zip folder. I have been looking online for help all day and can't seem to find any. I just want to be able to read my books! My E-Reader says it is compatible with EPUB and all the other files.

You may have pulled the plug too soon. When you drag and drop ebooks to
your ereader, it sets up a copy routine in the background. After you're
finished doing all the drag and drops you want, then you should shut down
ADE, but LEAVE YOUR EREADER PLUGGED IN until it tells you that it's
finished processing the copied ebooks.
What you can try is to delete those ebooks you copied from your ereader,
then attach it again to your computer and make sure that the computer has
assigned a drive letter to it. Then, start ADE, do the transfers, and
close ADE. Watch your ereader's screen to make sure it finishes processing
the ebooks, and then unplug it.

THE SETUP
I have a 150 GB external HDD connected via FireWire 400. My friend has a 120 GB external HDD connected via USB 2.0. They both have external power adapters. They are both formatted in MS-DOS Fat 32 and were connected to my MacBook.
THE PROBLEM
I tried to transfer some video files (.AVI) from my friends HDD to my HDD. It was about 30 GB's worth of files (made up of about 150 - 200 files (each about 100 MB's - 300 MB's in size). The copy window said it should take about 30 minutes. After about 5 minutes into the transfer, my MacBook just shut off. I restarted, tried again and it shut off again after the same amount of time.
THE QUESTION
What is the problem?
P.S. - If any one needs me to elaborate about anything posted above then just post what you need and I'll be glad to provide more info. (I'm very upset, tired and embarrassed. Which means that I'm not thinking straight.) ~_~

Now, every time I try to watch the videos from my external HDD, my computer shuts off after about 2 minutes. I watched one whole 22 minute video while my HDD was connected via FireWire. When I tried to watch another video, my computer shutdown after 2 minutes. After several attempts to watch the video, on a whim I decided to connect my HDD via the included USB 2.0 cable. As I suspected, the entire second video played without a single problem. When I went to watch the third video, guess what, my computer shutdown again after about 2 minutes of playback.
I was using Front Row to watch the videos. I did get the third video to play in Quick Time, but when I tried to play the fourth video (in QT) my computer shut off after about 2 minutes of playback. All of the files are .AVI video files with a resolution of about 640 X 480. -
I need to reinstall my operating system for 10.5 after seeing a file folder and question mark flashing on my start up screen. Can anyone help me with this?

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.) -

I have checked to see if there are any Windows 8-8.1 drivers available for your model machine from HP and sadly none are listed , Also even if it had been possible to get driver support for the upgrade you would have still had to pay Microsoft for the upgrade via Retail disk package or an online ISO download .

The easiest way is to connect the G5 and your new iMac together via Firewire. Then you can use what is called "Target Disk Mode" which basically makes the G5 look like an external hard drive to your iMac. The potential gotcha is if your new iMac does not have a Firewire port. In that case, you need to get the Apple Thunderbolt-Firewire adapter in order to connect the two machines (as far as I know, all G5's had one or more Firewire ports). I have done this many times, it's easy and works perfectly.
Alternatively, you could connect both Macs to the same network and log into the G5 from your iMac. This involves going into System Preferences > Sharing on the G5 and turning on File Sharing and then logging in from your iMac to the G5 as if it were a server. (Logging in through the Finder or via Go > Connect to Server). This also works fine but it's a little more involved than using Target Disk Mode. I do this all the time and it too works fine.
Either way, once the two Macs are connected, you will use the Finder on your iMac to copy files/folders from your G5 the same as you would from any external hard drive. Regarding iTunes, you could just copy your entire iTunes library over to your iMac being careful to put it in the same relative folder location: /users/yourusername/Music/iTunes This method will preserve your playlists and album art. Alternatively you could go into iTunes and do Add to Library but I'm not completely sure doing it that way will bring over your album art and it certainly won't bring over your playlists.
I see no reason to use a separate external hard drive. It will just double the time it takes to transfer your files because you would first have to copy everything to the hard drive, then in a second step copy everything from the hard drive to your iMac.
Note: In all cases there is the possibility that you may need to change file & folder permissions on the things you copy over so you can access (read & write) to these folders & files once copied to your new iMac. This is not a difficult process. -

Assuming you're looking for recommendations rather than experiencing specific problems, I would advise the following:
Buy 2 external hard disks. You don't say what model of MBP you have, but I would suggest buying the fastest type of drive your MBP supports. So, instead of going for a cheap USB2 drive, I would consider FW800 or Thunderbolt if your MBP supports it. It might cost more but will be faster.
One of the drives needs to be only as big as your internal HD. (Technically, it only needs to be as big as the amount of data you want to back up but to be safe, get one that matches your HD size). This HD can be used for a Bootable Clone. I use SuperDuper from Shirt Pocket, and a Freecom 1GB FireWire 800 drive. You can try it out for free, but it's worth buying a licence because once it's licenced you can do 'smart backups' where it only needs to copy files that have changed. The free version will have to do an entire clone each time which takes longer.
The second drive you should use as a Time Machine backup. The bigger this is, the more backups you can keep, so the further back in time you can go.
The reason to have both is that they both do different things.
SuperDuper is great for doing a complete 'emergency' backup every so often (i.e. before you go away, or at the end of each week, whatever). This disk means that if your MBP is lost, stolen or the HD goes pop, you can recover pretty much the whole system immediately, because you can boot from that drive on any Intel Mac that supports your bus type and OS version. I do an SD clone every so often and keep it hidden, in case anything happens to my MBP.
Time Machine backups are NOT bootable. However, in an emergency you can do a clean install of your OS and then get everything back by migrating from your last TM backup. But the best and most common use of TM backups is simply 'turning back the clock', i.e. you deleted something you wished you hadn't, or even saved over a piece of work you didn't mean to, or installed some software that has caused problems. As long as there was a recent TM backup, you can just get the older version of that file, or revert your whole system. I carry my TM drive around with me in my laptop bag and have it sat there attached and backing up the whole time I'm working.
Well worth having both strategies in place.
As an aside, if you keep confidential files (client or personal) on your MBP and carry it around somewhere like London as I do, it's also worth considering using FileVault so if your lappy gets nicked you don't have to worry about them getting at all your info. And if you have a clone at home, in the worst instance, all you really have to worry about is just buying a new laptop and restoring it. Expensive, sure, but at least your data is safe. -

You could try duplicating the Domain.sites2 file and launch this in iWeb. Delete the last page you edited and try saving. If that doesn't work, undo and try deleting another and so on...
If you can find the problem page you would only have to rebuild it rather than the whole site.
The other possibility is to create a new site on the same domain file and drag each page in turn down to it from the top site and try to save each time. -
Can anyone help me with deleting folders from Appleworks?
I have an older computer that I am giving to a friend and I want to export and remove all of my personal folders in Appleworks (6.2.9). I have not been able to export info and I have also not been able to delete any folders from Appleworks. I can delete all the info in the individual file (ss or wp) but cannot remove the file itself. I don't know what I'm missing but I cannot find info on how to handle this problem. Can anyone help me with this?
Search for the file's name in the Finder, throw it away, and empty the Trash; the Finder is the item in the Dock with the smiling face.

When I go onto my phone and select Queen on the MUSIC app using Songs tab at the bottom of the screen it will display all Queen songs and their resective Alum pics, that is all those not in a complilation album, .
If I know the song title I can select the songs tab and find the song that way,
