Can anyone help? My 30GB iPod is not recognized by windows.
"USB Device Not Recognized" is the error report I get each time I connect my iPod to my USB port. I tested my USB ports with other devices and they worked normally. Has anyone had similar issues? Can anything be done without sending my iPod in for repairs? Any advice shall be appreciated.

When I run the iTunes64setup.exe it says: "The thingy is not a valid win32 application."
That generally indicates that the installer has been getting damaged on the download.
What web browser have you been using for downloading the iTunes64Setup.exe? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa)? -

If you cannot insert any CD or DVD at all and there is no CD in that drive, then the mechanism might be defective. I've had that and Apple replaced the drive under warranty. To find out, I'd suggest an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar for a free diagnosis - if it needs repair and you're out of warranty, they'll tell you how much it would be (in that case, an external burner might be less expensive).

In order to get a new activation key, you’ll need to contact a

My son disabled his ipod touch 4th gen trying to get into it, he planned to give it to his cousin so I just removed the device from his Apple acnt. However, it's still disabled & now not recognized in Windows 7 or by I-Tunes on any computer or usb we try, but it does charge by usb or wall charger. I am not super familiar with Apple products & need some advice if anyone has any. Thanks!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

i tried to update the driver like it said in the link u sent me(i have windows vista) but when i was going to update it it said "windows found driver software from your device but encountered an error while attemting to install it(ive tried a few times with the same result) This device cannot start.(Code 10)" and after this i was forced to close the program

My iPod Touch is shown in iTunes' list of devices but is not recognized by Windows Explorer. Another possibly consequential symptom is that iTunes will not start when the device is connected to the computer. Any help appreciated.
Windows 7 Pro, IE9, have verified latest version of iTunes.If your iPod is recognized by iTunes (and by your photo app as a camera), then that's how it should be. To startup iTunes when the iPod is connected, check the appropriate option on the iPod's Summary page in iTunes.

What's on the screen of your iPod?
Try resetting it: Make sure the hold switch is OFF so that there's no orange color showing. Then hold down the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons for about 10 seconds, and you should get an Apple logo on the screen. When you do, you can release the buttons and try again.
You can also try connecting the iPod to a different USB port, preferably one on the back of the computer if you're on a desktop computer.
