Can anyone out there recommend a program for invoices, etc for a small business?
Hi,
I am a small business owner, and used in the past PC programs. I am about to start a new business, but I now have an iMac (intel) and I am finding it very hard to find a decent program for invoicing, tax, etc for a small business.
I am based in UK so I need something which I can use here.
Can anyone , preferably a small business owner or someone who uses such a program, please recommend a good one??
Thanks
Paul
There are countless invoicing apps,I'd recommend opening the Mac App Store and do a search for Invoicing to see at least 7 or 8.

I am new to apple software having worked with microsoft all these years. The switch was mainly for my photographs. Iphotos seemed to have changed all digital albums from jpeg to tiff format hence the very small resolution. Can anyone out there please help me recover these photos to origianal format???
Thanks
suvieve63Gosh I am already tired of trying to retrieve this photo album and it seems like a waste of time and money spent on an apple IMac.
No disrespect intended but until you learn how iPhoto and Macs work you will continue to be confused and frustrated.
You say you want to create a book in iPhoto and have it printed by Apple, right. Have you finished creating the book in iPhoto? If so the Control (right) - click in the View all pages window background and select Save Book as PDF in the contextual menu?
Open the the PDF file with Preview and check for any errors or problems. If there are none you can order the book by clicking oin the Buy Book button at the bottom. Save the pdf file to compare with the printed book when it arrives in you feel there's a problem with it. That's all you need to do. There's no use of the Finder required.

my iPad is stuck with a small blue screen saying iCloud Backup, this iPad hasn't been backed up in 4 weeks.Backups blah blah… Click OK. I can't get it off the screen and I can't use the iPad because of it. Can anyone out there help?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). -

I'd suggest being more specific. What do you mean by "it seems to have thrown windows out of the system?" The Windows virtual machines should still be in the Virtual Machines folder in your documents folder. Are they there? What version of Fusion have you updated from and to?
You might also consider raising your question in the VMware Fusion forum: http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/desktop/fusion?view=discussions&sta rt=0. -
When I try to play a song on I-Tunes, I receive the Message "The song can not be used because the original can not be found. Can anyone out there help me with this problem?
The iTunes application saves your iTunes Store purchases--as well as any music, audiobooks, or videos you import--to your computer's hard disk, not the iTunes application itself.
The error message you note indicates that the purchase in question can’t be located where it is stored in your iTunes Music folder in order to play it, and may have been moved or deleted.
You will need to help iTunes locate the file. Follow the steps in this article:

Can anyone help me since updating with the latest iOS for my iPad I can't do FaceTime and also when I go to camera I can't do video recording anymore been to settings to see if ther have been any obvious changes can't find anything that would cause this any help greatly appreciated
You are waiting for an apology to something that happened over a year ago? Really? This is why there is a manager in the store. You have a problem with an employee you speak to the manager. Just like you did on the phone. You would have gotten your apology in July 2013.
Here is the information about your upgrade fee.
Upgrade Fee
It is because when you have a problem you (customers) go running to the store and want to take up the time of the reps to fix it. Other carriers have third parties that deal with technical support and those locations are few and far between. VZW provides this directly through their stores. Also, when you subsidize a $650 and pay $200 VZW has to pay $400. Your monthly service fee doesn't begin to scratch the surface of paying that back. Not with all the money that is put into the network and its improvements.
Then over a year later you get someone on the phone who apologized and offered to waive the fee on your phone and you didn't take it? That offer won't come down the pike again.
One thing you should know is that all these employees are people and as such they sometimes come off cross. I doubt that you speak to everyone so sweetly all the time. Cut them a little slack and put this whole thing behind you after 15 months. Either upgrade with VZW or move on. -
Help ! I have recently used iTunes to subscribe to some Podcasts flawlessly. Then suddenly, I could only view the latest downloaded Podcasts in my iTunes account. I no longer had any Podcasts on my 160GB Classic. Can anyone save me from me ? I would truely appreciate any suggestions or direction. Thank you. [email protected]
Connect your iPod to iTunes and check on the Device/Podcasts pane; there are several options for which Podcasts are "kept on/left on" the iPod at each Sync. Are they set the way you want? For instance, if the setting is "to keep on the iPod only new Podcasts", that would cause older Podcasts to be removed.
If you need to chnage the setting, you will need to Sync the iPod afterwards for the change to take effect. -
can anyone assist?

i am trying to install a different printer but keep getting a message that windows installer is not correctly installed or is in safe mode...can anyone help me........i am not a techie by any means
1. It sounds like a windows issue, so I searched online and found this information (not a windows expert), but it sounds like what you are experiencing.
Windows Installer error
The Windows Installer service could not be accessed' on Windows XP?
When you attempt to install a program that uses Windows Installer, such as Office XP, you receive: "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running in safe mode or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. "
This error is probably the result of a damaged registration service. To resolve this issue:
1. Open a CMD.EXE prompt.
2. Type msiexec /unregister and press Enter.
3. Type msiexec /regserver and press Enter.
2. Then you might want to try the the HP Printer Install Wizard. (I was not sure which C5100 you have, so be sure to select your model and Windows XP.

Running through songs....can anyone out there help?
So, I have tried to reset, install the latest software, etc...here is the problem, as yet, unresolved...when I choose a song via albums or artists, it just runs through all of the songs and plays none of them. Has anyone heard of this before? THANKS in advance for any help and for taking the time to answer...ds
THANKS for the reply! It happens when I go to albums or artists, and choose a song to play...it just scrolls through the remaining songs and does not play them, or if I choose the last song on the list, just goes back to the main menu. If I play from the All Songs list or the purchaed music playlist it works fine...very weird...I was thinking of just restoring the whole iPod and reloading it with software, etc, I just do not know how to do that...thanks for your time!

I need help connecting an HP Office jet 8620 printer to my MacOS X running 10.5.8, can it be done?
Hello, hp only has drivers for 10.6 & up, about the only thing you can do is see if an earlier OfficeJet driver works.

Hello World....can anyone out there solve this ?
am hoping someone will be able to help please, after three days of battling an upgrade that went wrong. I've documented this as fully as I can since I see a lot of comments from people trying to help here asking for specific steps that we (those of us with the problems !) have undertaken. Sorry if its a bit long :
I have a 27" iMac 2010, and I think it was running OS X Lion or Mountain Lion (can't see anymore !). In retrospect I'm not sure if this was the correct upgrade step, but I tried to upgrade directly to Yosemite over the weekend, and after completion the Mac rebooted straight into Recovery mode. The internal Macintosh HD SATA Drive was locked, even though I did not have File Vault switched on. I was able to unlock it by first selecting it as a reboot drive, unlocking it and then going back to the Recovery screen to select Time Machine Backup. However, my Time machine backup, on a WD My Book Live Duo, failed to work - the OS could not see a valid TM backup. It was at this multiple failure point I began to show some signs of slight worry...........
So, I tried to download OS X Lion from the internet (Recovery mode option). The download worked for the US Store only (not UK where not available), but still failed to boot in anything but recovery mode.
I tried Command -R, Option boot etc etc but still the same recovery screen appeared.
I then went into Disk Utils and saw that my Macintosh HD with all my data was greyed out and showed a locked logical partition. I tried to get around this by re-selecting it as boot drive, unlocking it and then returned to the Disk Utils window. This then showed it as a verified SMART drive. I verified the disk and repaired any broken links etc. Still it would not reboot into anything but Recovery Mode, reverting again to a locked logical partition for the Macintosh HD internal SATA drive after each reboot.
So I then unlocked it as before, and tried to Option- turn off Encryption in the File Menu. An error message stated that it was unable to turn off encryption.
I'm thinking I'm stuck....then I went back into the Terminal Window and accessed the /dev that is the Macintosh HD SATA drive. Under /Users/username all my data was there intact !.
My last step was to go back to Disk Utils, hook up an empty 2TB external WD elements drive and then select it as Restore Drive for the Macintosh HD. It took 20 hours but all the data (not Apps) was copied to it. So at least I got the data.
I could now completely erase my HDD and start again afresh, but if I could find a way of getting back in so I can see if I could at least solve the problem, since it doesn't seem to me to be a hard drive failure issue, but more of an OSX installation error. Is there any solution that you are aware of that could get me back to a position where my Macintosh HD could reboot and allow me access to my files and maybe even try to figure if I can restore what I thought was Time Machine via the OS-X. I don't want to just trash the drive before understanding if it can be at least restarted.
Thanks very much
Paulbut as I said though, File Vault was switched OFF.
Okay, but it was hard to tell since your initial post is contradictory.
even though I did not have File Vault switched on.
Followed later by:
and tried to Option- turn off Encryption in the File Menu. An error message stated that it was unable to turn off encryption.
So was FileVault on, or off? There can't be any encryption to turn off if FileVault was never on.
I verified the disk and repaired any broken links etc.
Did you do a literal Verify Disk rather then the button below that, Repair Disk? If you did not do a Repair Disk, then nothing was fixed. A verify only looks for problems and reports those it finds, but does nothing else.
Regardless, the main partition is in an unstable condition. At least you already have the data backed up. When you boot to another drive so you have a normal desktop, can you access the files on the external drive you did a Restore Drive to (the one that took 20 hours)? Or is that as inaccessible as the main drive?
since it doesn't seem to me to be a hard drive failure issue, but more of an OSX installation error.
That's also the way I see it at this point. Though not necessarily as OS X issue. A power outage or brown out can seriously trash a drive that was in write mode at the time. A really good way to trash the file table and boot cylinder.
The only way (at the moment) I can think to try and salvage the drive is to run Repair Disk. If it returns that it fixed any errors, keep repeating the command until it reports no issues. That's the free method. DiskWarrior is a far superior tool for fixing file table damage. But either way, you're eventually going to end up with a fixed table that may lose connections to the files they point to on the drive as entries that are too damaged to be repaired will be removed. However, you do have the copy, and the copy will have a clean file table to retrieve lost files from. The point is to repair the drive's ability to write data to it again.
I tried Command -R, Option boot etc etc but still the same recovery screen appeared.
Command+R and Command+Option+R are similar, but use a completely different approach. Both show the exact same work screen, but the first boots to the hidden recovery partition, so you are still booting to the hard drive. The second boots to firmware, so you are not working off the hard drive at all.
If the drive can be repaired enough with Disk Utility or DiskWarrior, then try reinstalling OS X again. Though personally, with a drive that badly trashed and the data backed up, I'd boot into Internet Recovery Mode (Command+Option+R), and use Disk Utility to completely repartition and erase the drive, then reinstall everything from scratch. But that's me. -

By looking at the stack trace "backtrace" (a series of nested instructions carried out by the computer, eg sin(log(tan(x)))), it looks like something is going wrong with your graphics chip. And judging by the fact that the process it's tripping over is the Window Server itself, I don't think there is much you can do yourself.
My suggestion would be to take to an Apple Genius (it's an Air, I see - so it's probably still under warranty or AppleCare if you have it?) and point out those parts of that madness. Since it's the WindowServer process itself causing the issue (with your graphics chip thrown in the mix), it's like a manufacturing defect.
Sorry for your bad experience :/ If it is a hardware defect, Apple should do good by you and replace the relevant parts (or perhaps the entire computer). -
Can anyone out there help me figure out why I am having trouble opening a gray scale tiff in ID and
I have been opening tiffs and coloring them successfully for years, and all of a sudden it is not working. I made a logo in Illustrator, saved it as an ai, opened that in PS, saved as a grayscale tiff, and then opened it in ID. First the white background box was there, so I went back into Illustrator and knocked out group, then in PS preserved transparancy. I succeeded in losing the white box, but then in ID when I tried to color it, nothing happened. I checked all my ID settings, and just cannot figure out why this is happening.
Colorizing in ID works for NON-transparent grayscales or Bitmap mode raster files only.
A Bitmap mode image in a frame filled with [None] and colorized will appear transparent in the white areas, but you'll need to ad a clipping path for grayscale, or change the blend mode and live with overprints, which you probbly don't want.
