Can anyone recommend a hosting provider who is conversant with Adobe Muse?

Hi, I need to upload my Muse site http://www.bilyz.com to a recommended hosting provider.  After months of circuitous emailing with my current hosting provider they have at last confess that they are unfamiliar with Adobe Muse.  The FTP upload worked initially but I have been unable to upload modified files and would appreciate learning of a tried and proven host that also provides good support.  When I telephone my current supplier I am told they are receiving an unprecedented high number of calls and that I should raise an enquiry ticket via my control panel.  Then I wait weeks to receive an email (that doesn't accept replies) from some person who obviously has not read my enquiry ticket message.  Naturally, for reasons of telephone costs, I would prefer a UK host.  Looking forward to your advice! Kind regards

Hi, I use Vidahost. Been using them for a few months now.
Reasonably priced / UK based & best of all...works fine with Muse FTP upload.
Customer support is also the best I've had!

  • Can anyone recommend a portable USB 3.0 drive with hardware encryption, compatible with OSX and Windows 7.  I need it for my MacBook Pro 13", 2012, running Mountain Lion

Can anyone recommend a portable USB 3.0 drive with hardware encryption, compatible with OSX Mountain Lion and Windows 7.  I need it for my MacBook Pro 13”, 2012, running Mountain Lion & Windows 7 Ultimate - BootCamp.  I’ve heard that the Buffalo MiniStation Encryption does not work with OSX, is that true..?  I'd like it to work with both operating systems, using the built in hardware encryption.  Thanks

  • Can anyone recommend a print server that will work with Mac & PCs?

Can anyone recommend a wireless print server that will work with Macs and PCs ?

Wireless has a disadvantage for many Powerbooks.  Unless yours supports 802.11g, it is not secure.  So it must support Airport Extreme on the Powerbook to have a secure wireless network.   Also many printers only support 802.11b, making matters worse, as that is not secure.  See my FAQ* on printing:
    http://www.macmaps.com/printersx.html
Some printers have ethernet ports, which would allow you to use a Wireless ethernet bridge that is 802.11g.  Similarly you could use one on the Mac, and then you'd have your wireless printing.  Ask the printer manufacturer what might be possible.  The last thing you want is an insecure network, especially if you are at most 4500 meters/1500 feet from someone who could pick it up and log into it that you don't want.

  • Can anyone get the mackie jog wheel to work with adobe audition 3?

I can get the 'scrub' wheel to work in play mode...but not in stop mode..to make fine adjustments.
I read elsewhere that the mackie wheel simply doesnt work with adobe.
has anyone found that to be untrue?

    Hi Cornelius,
At the top right corner of the Sequencer is a button that will let you select which MIDI controller devices you wish to enable. You can then select the channel this device is listening on from the MIDI IN dropdown on the track that hosts your VSTi. (The MIDI IN selection is an arrow pointing to the right.) For testing purposes, it may be simplest to select ALL for now.
You should then be able to use your controller to trigger and control the VSTi on that track.
If I've misunderstood your question, please elaborate.

  • Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive camera to shoot with?

    Hello again!
Would someone be able to recommend a good, inexpensive ($200 or less) MiniDV camera that I can use to shoot and works well with FCE. I've got an external drive connected to my macbook via firewire, so I'm not sure how I'd be able to capture video from the camera via firewire (I guess USB works?).
I'm pretty new to editing, but thanks to Tom's book I'm picking up FCE very quickly. I currently have a Flip Mino camera (theflip.com) but it connects via USB to my computer and produces AVI files that I have to convert using MPEG Streamclip. I don't mind doing this, but I'd rather shoot higher quality video and capture it in FCE.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...you guys have been awesome answering my questions!

And I revert to an initial question I had: If my external drive must be connected to FCE at start-up, and I need FCE to capture video from my camera, how does that work with just one firewire port?
The short answer is that, "It doesn't work." You'd need to reset your Scratch Disk and capture to your internal drive, then move the captured files to the external. In order to capture to your external drive, you'll need to daisy chain camera to drive/drive to computer. It's Canon's odd implementation of the firewire standard which can cause problems in daisy chaining with their cameras.

  • Can anyone recommend a moderate priced camcorder to use with I movie 08'...

I recently purchased a i mac OSX version 10.5 and would like to buy a new camcorder. I would like recommendations for a good moderately priced camcorder to use with i movie 08 or i dvd. Thanks.

Take a look at the Panasonic line of miniDV tape cams. Their better cams have 3CCD's, which is desirable.
If you think you may wish to use iMovie 06, the earlier and, in the opinion of many iMovie faithful, the best iMovie version, you will require a miniDV tape cam with a Firewire port. Hard drive or DVD cams will not work with iMovie 06.
If you choose a format other than miniDV, make sure the cam chosen is on Apple's compatibility list and be aware that even that is no guarantee of glitch free connection to your Mac, as can be seen in the iMovie 08 postings.

  • Can anyone recommend a clock radio that is compatible with 2nd gen Shuffle?

I would like to purchase a clock radio to go along with the Shuffle for Christmas present. Looking for a good recommendation. If it has a CD player, even better. Thanks.

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''
    Hope this helps.

  • Can anyone recommend a BT mouse for a PowerBook with OS X 10.3

Just wondered which BT mouse set up you guys can recommend. I understand the Mighty Mouse is not compatable with 10.3 and as an Apple Newbie, I want to make sure I buy the correct one.

Just recently, I picked up a BT mouse and keyboard set. Since it looks like you're from the UK, I did a quick search found that it is avaiable in the UK - It works just fine. The Kensington products have been reliable for my needs. Here's the UK link: http://uk.kensington.com/html/6655.html
    Hope it's helpful.

  • Can anyone recommend a compatible DV camcorder for use with iMovie3?

This will be my 1st camcorder and only need to know if certain brands will/won't work with iMovie3 for simple family use. Any help will be much apprieciated! i'm on an Emac G4. thanks!

    Welcome to the discussions.
iMovie 3 is the buggiest version ever. See it you can get hold of iLife '04. iLife '04 contains iMovie 4 and iDVD 4. iMovie 4 is much more stable than iMovie 3. iDVD 4 has better picture quality than iDVD 3.
For both iMovie 3 and 4, you must have a "DV" camera that uses mini-DV tapes. None of them comes with a Firewire cable, so you must purchase one separately. Firewire is also called i.Link, IEEE1394 or DV.
You can buy any currently selling DV camera as they will all work.
If you are looking on the "used" market, avoid Samsung.
Finally, don't ever empty iMovie's trash in iMove 1-4. You may lose your project.
    Good luck.

  • Can anyone recommend a good CD audio burning software, with jewelcase making capabilities?

I am looking for a good CD audio & jewelcase software program, as iTunes does not seem to do this.  Any recommendations?

The OWC specs are a bit confusing, but the $114.99 item will work with your iMac on USB 1.1. You may have to use Patch Burn from the Accelerate Your Mac site http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ to get the burn from Finder or iTunes to work. An alternative to patching the system (if you need to) would be to use one of the Roxio products, Toast or Jam.

  • Can anyone recommend a printer which will actually work with mac 10.4.11 ?

Hi all! I have had problems getting a printer which will actually work with my macbook 10.4.11. I've tried HP deskjet f4180 (supposed to be compatible) and various lexmarks (no compatible software). Apple and hp, and my local curry's have not been able to assure me which printer will DEFINATELY work. I just wanted to hear from other Mac users with 10.4.11, if they had actually been able to find a printer which works properly. Would be greatful for any recommendations of printer's which are actually compatible with the updated tiger 10.4.11
    Many thanks.
    Crazynow!!

I read your previous posts, but had just upgraded to 10.4.11 & hadn't check my printers. All 3 of these work: Apple laserwriter 360, Brother HL 1440, and Brother MFC 7820N. I print to all of these wirelessly via airport.

  • Can anyone recommend a NAS media server that works with iTunes 10.5?

I currently have an Iomega Home Media Server but have given up on Iomega ever updating their firmware to work with the latest version of iTunes. Any suggestions for a suitable (not Iomega) replacement would be gratefully received.

    non out of the box
the apple programs support accessing from shared itunes lib but only true ones even nas's which say they work like shared libs don't work
some nas like my sonology have apps for ios which allow me to play the media from them
and general upnp apps are also supported but you need to use 3th party apps

  • Can anyone recommend a provider in the US for iPhone 4S?

Can anyone recommend a good provider? I just bought an unlocked iPhone 4S and I will be staying in the US for 4 to 7 years. I plan not to have a landline and therefore, need a good plan and hopefully something affordable too. I will be in California for the first 4 years. I am quite new with the technology. So far, it has no SIM card.
    Thank you
    Spoud

When you get to the US, go to an AT&T store & look at their various plans for the iPhone. You can do the same at a T-Mobile store, but bear in mind many features of the iPhone will not work if you use T-Mobile. You can also look at this:
    http://www.straighttalk.com/ShopPhones
Straighttalk is from Walmart...they rent spectrum from AT&T...but again, like T-Mobile, many iPhone features won't work.
If you want all the features of the iPhone & nationwide coverage, you only have one choice: AT&T.

Macs with a FireWire port will also boot happily from an External drive. You don't even need to open the MacBook.
Some users buy a drive they would like to have as a future Internal drive, and also buy an external enclosure. They get the External set up the way they want it, then swap with the Internal drive.

  • Can anyone recommend a new mobile provider?

When Verizon switches to tiered data plans next week, I will be leaving Verizon. Can anyone recommend another mobile phone company in the San Francisco Bay Area?
I've heard that Sprint's 4g network is super fast and offers an unlimited data plan.
    Thanks in advance!

Not all of use have only Verizon.   I have two providers at the moment!
To answer the question though I live really close to San Francisco. When I do go into the city i get great service with my T-mobile phone. 3G is awesome there.  check out T-mobile for sure if you are leaving.
